The referee reaches into his pocket once again, with Mane being punished for wasting time.
90' +2
MASSIVE SAVE!! Wow! Alisson produces a huge stop to keep out Milik from eight yards. The substitute striker profits from some real panic in the Liverpool backline, setting himself nicely for a clean shot which Alisson is equal to down low.
90' +1
A. Robertson gets yellow.
Robertson becomes the latest player to be shown a yellow card, seemingly for taking too long with the throw-in.
90'
D. Lovren enters the game and replaces T. Alexander-Arnold.
Klopp is taking no chances with Alexander-Arnold, bringing on Lovren for the closing seconds. Four minutes have been added on here.
86'
SHOULD BE GAME OVER! Will Liverpool live to rue these missed chances? The ball is worked to Wijnaldum in a promising position just inside the area, but he drags the ball wide of the target.
85'
Fabinho enters the game and replaces J. Milner.
Milner makes way with five minutes to go after picking up a knock. Fabinho is on in his place in a like-for-like change in the middle.
83'
Mohamed Salah gets yellow.
Salah prevents Ospina from releasing the ball by putting his arm across the goalkeeper. The referee Damir Skomina reaches into his pocket for the third time today.
82'
Wijnaldum climbs highest to meet Alexander-Arnold's cross, which he guides wide of the target. Liverpool could do with putting away one of these chances!
81'
Liverpool have had chances to extend their lead over the last 10 minutes, but at the same time they are also looking a little more nervous when Napoli get on the ball. This match - and indeed Group C as a whole - still remains delicately poised.
Minute
Description
79'
N. Keïta enters the game and replaces Roberto Firmino.
Klopp clearly wants more control in midfield, so on comes Keita for Firmino for the final 10 minutes.
78'
Van Dijk volleys a decent opportunity over the crossbar, but the offside flag had already gone up. At the other end, Insigne cannot turn the ball goalwards when picked out at the back post.
77'
ANOTHER SAVE! Napoli are committing bodies forward, leaving gaps open at the back for Liverpool to attack - and they are pretty much the best in the business at doing so. Robertson's centre is met by Mane, but Ospina is there to make a good reaction stop.
74'
A little over 15 minutes to play at Anfield and, while Napoli have grown into the match over the past few minutes, the home side are not exactly holding on. Milik hooks a shot over the bar from Zielinski's pull-back.
72'
The changes appear to have worked, with Napoli now looking a little more threatening all of a sudden. All they have to show for their latest attack is a corner, however, which comes to nothing.
70'
F. Ghoulam enters the game and replaces Mário Rui.
Ghoulam is brought on for Rui as Napoli desperately attempt to grab a foothold on the match. That is all three changes made by Ancelotti in the space of six minutes.
69'
DEFLECTED SHOT! This was an awkward one for Ospina, as Alexander-Arnold's shot from 30 yards hits Koulibaly and then Firmino on its way through. The Arsenal loanee gets down to his right to make the stop.
67'
A. Milik enters the game and replaces D. Mertens.
Mertens is off and Milik, who scored twice against Frosinone last weekend, is on in his place as Ancelotti makes a straight swap up top.
66'
The game has gone a little flat at Anfield, as has the atmosphere. Napoli need a goal but they are struggling to keep hold of the ball to create any openings.
64'
Klopp will happily take another 25 minutes of this. Liverpool are looking more likely to double their tally than Napoli are to level things up.
62'
P. Zieliński enters the game and replaces Fabián Ruiz.
With Liverpool now well on top, coming close through a curled shot from Milner that flew a couple of yards wide, Ancelotti turns to his bench for the first time. Zielinski is on for Ruiz.
SHOT! There has been plenty of action over the last five minutes or so. Henderson flicks up the ball outside the box and arrows a low shot towards the bottom corner, but Ospina got down to make another save.
61'
PSG may not be home and dry just yet, as Marko Gobeljic has pulled a goal back for Red Star to make it 2-1 in that match. The French side top Group C on nine points, while Liverpool are above Napoli in second place on goal difference.
60'
ATTEMPT! From a similar position to Albiol a minute or so before him, Firmino meets a right-sided cross and guides his header on target for Ospina to make a routine stop. Van Dijk then has a pop from distance, miscuing the ball high and wide.
58'
SAVE! Napoli finally string some passes together in Liverpool's final third, earning themselves a corner kick from the rare attack. Albiol gets on the end of the set-piece, but his header lacks power and is easily dealt with by Alisson down the middle.
56'
Good defending from Koulibaly, who had to keep pace with Salah following a quick exchange of passes from Liverpool's attacking players. The home side are still looking comfortable, despite Napoli being the side in need of a goal.
52'
CLOSE! Napoli are looking very sloppy. Salah almost capitalises as he gets on the end of Firmino's pass, shakes off a challenge from the defender and then skims the side-netting with his shot.
50'
An awkward attempt from Wijnaldum, who volleys wide of the target with the outside of his boot. Would have been a goal of the season contender had he got his contact right.
49'
A second corner is won by Liverpool early in this second period, which Ospina manages to pluck out of the air.
48'
Mane sprays the ball out to Robertson down the left, but the cross is cut out before it can find anyone in a red shirt. Liverpool have started the second half the brighter of the two sides.
46'
Napoli, 45 minutes away from being knocked out of the Champions League, get us back underway at Anfield!
45' +4
HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 1-0 NAPOLI
45' +3
Liverpool outnumber Napoli in the final third when breaking forward, but Firmino is unable to control the ball when it arrives in the box.
45' +1
Three minutes have been added on at the end of this first half, one of which we have already played. Mertens shoots wide of the target from a good 45 yards out.
44'
Liverpool are looking very comfortable, with Napoli offering next to nothing since falling behind. Ruiz dragged a shot wide a couple of minutes after Salah's goal, but that aside they have not done enough to trouble the home side.
42'
PSG have scored a second goal against Red Star in Group C's other match through Neymar. Napoli need to respond here in the remaining 48 minutes or so if they are to avoid crashing out.
40'
K. Koulibaly gets yellow.
Koulibaly joins Van Dijk in the referee's notebook for a stamp on Salah's foot.
38'
Liverpool are now in control of their own destiny thanks to that Salah strike. As things stand, they will be joining PSG in the hat for the last 16.
36'
SHOT! A poor clearance from Alisson plays Liverpool into trouble. Napoli have men over and the ball is worked to Ruiz, who appears to be caught in two minds when dragging the ball wide of the target with the angle against him.
34'
Mohamed Salah has scored a goal for Liverpool! Assist by J. Milner.
GOOOOOAAALLLL!! Liverpool 1-0 Napoli! This is quite brilliant from Salah, who really is hitting top form now. The Egypt forward shows good footwork to jink past Rui and Koulibaly, before coolly converting past Ospina at his near post. As good as the build-up play from Salah was, Ospina should have been doing a lot better.
Milner played the ball into the feet of Salah, who had an awful lot of work to do. A great individual goal from Liverpool's go-to man on these big occasions.
33'
Henderson takes matters into his own hands by taking range from 25 yards. The effort is pretty poor, however, with the ball being dragged wide of the opposition target.
31'
Robertson overhits his cross and Ospina collects. Salah was one of those aiming to get on the end of the delivery but went down before he could reach it, though it was under no obvious contact from a Napoli player.
29'
The first half has not quite taken off, with the only clear-cut opportunities coming in a three-minute spell fairly early on. Still plenty of time for Liverpool to score the goal they need to have any hope of finishing in the top two, though!
27'
The home fans are unhappy as play is halted following some slight contact from Salah on Rui, moments after the Egypt international was fairly tackled by Koulibaly in the box.
25'
Not seen a great deal from Napoli in an attacking sense in this first half. Just like that, though, they go from front to back in a second and Van Dijk is needed to turn behind a Callejon cross.
22'
Napoli not having to do a great deal in a defensive sense, with Liverpool not quite at full flow in the opening quarter of the match. As things stand, the visiting side will be heading through at the expense of their opponents.
18'
Napoli stand firm to defend the free-kick. The visitors nearly mount a counter-attack, only for Robertson to step in and break it up.
17'
Rui shoves Salah near the corner flag to concede a free-kick. The Egypt forward did not appear to be going anywhere - a strange challenge from the Napoli man, which could result in further punishment.
13'
V. van Dijk gets yellow.
Van Dijk times his challenge perfectly to win the ball from Mertens, but the Dutchman followed through and caught his opponent on the ankle. Van Dijk will now be suspended for Liverpool's next match if they make it through.
11'
There has been a goal in the match between Red Star and PSG - and it has gone the way of the French side. Edinson Cavani has opened the scoring, lifting his side to the top of Group C and pushing Napoli into second place.
9'
CLOSE! It did not take long for this contest to spark into life. Mertens pulls the ball back for Hamsik, who guides a first-time shot over the crossbar from 18 yards. Almost instantly, Liverpool get forward and Milner misses the target with his header after out-jumping Maksimovic.
7'
BAD TOUCH! Salah, so often clinical in front of goal, squanders the first clear-cut opportunity of the match. The Egypt forward is picked out unmarked by Robertson in the middle, but a bad first touch denies him the chance to get a shot away.
6'
Ancelotti said that his side would not sit back, and that is proving the case as a dangerous cross from the left is cut out by Van Dijk in the middle.
5'
Napoli are not afraid to pass their way out of trouble, despite being put under pressure high up the field by Mane and Milner. Liverpool yet to find their rhythm early on.
3'
Insigne's pass towards Callejon is cut out by Robertson. Liverpool attempt to spring a counter, but a stray pass in midfield sees the attack break down.
1'
Liverpool, playing in front of a packed Anfield crowd, get us up and running!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League tie between Liverpool and Napoli at Anfield. It is all to play for in Group C as three teams battle it out for the two qualification spots in this intriguing final round of fixtures.
Napoli lead the way at the top of the standings on nine points, three better off than third-place Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain - away at Red Star Belgrade in today’s other Group C fixture - occupy second place on eight points. Jurgen Klopp’s men require either a 1-0 win or a victory by two clear goals to progress through on their own accord, though the permutations will change should PSG fail to beat Red Star. For the visitors, a point will do.
LIVERPOOL XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson (c), James Milner; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
Liverpool subs: Fabinho, Dejan Lovren, Naby Keita, Simon Mignolet, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri
NAPOLI XI (4-4-2): David Ospina; Nikola Maksimovic, Raul Albiol, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Jose Callejon, Allan, Marek Hamsik (c), Fabian Ruiz; Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens
The two teams are now out on the field at Anfield and we are moments away from kick-off. For all the various permutations, Liverpool know that ultimately they have to claim victory on home soil if they are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages of the competition. A point will be enough for Napoli, but Ancelotti has vowed that his side will not sit back for a goalless draw.
Napoli subs: Elseid Hysaj, Amadou Diawara, Orestis Karnezis, Arkadiusz Milik, Faouzi Ghoulam, Adam Ounas, Piotr Zielinski
The onus is now on Napoli to get forward and score a goal, because as things stand it is Liverpool who will be joining PSG in the last 16 by virtue of their superior goal difference. Hamsik and Ruiz missed the target from the visitors' only real openings so far, either side of Salah's goal, so Ancelotti will no doubt demand more from his players in the second 45.
Liverpool take a one-goal lead into the interval courtesy of Salah's strike 11 minutes before half-time. The home side just about had the better of things up to that point, with the Egypt forward and Milner both failing to take presentable opportunities early on, while Mane rightly had a goal ruled out for offside.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
Klopp's side can now turn their focus back to the Premier League, with the pacesetters facing a huge match against arch-rivals Manchester United here on Sunday. Napoli will now compete in the Europa League post-Christmas, meanwhile, and they must quickly pick themselves back up as they travel to Cagliari in Serie A in five days' time.
