GOOOOOAL! 2-0! Game over! Modric steals possession off Carrico and charges through on goal, stabbing an effort past Vaclik to put the icing on the cake.
90' +1
There will be three minutes of additional time at the end of the second half.
90'
Not long to go now and Real Madrid are looking to waste as much time as they can. With another change still available to Solari, the hosts should be able to hold on.
88'
F. Valverde enters the game and replaces Dani Ceballos.
Second change of the game for Real Madrid sees Valverde take the place of Ceballos for the final few minutes.
87'
Confusion on the field as Real Madrid break on the counter, with Benzema charging through on goal, but the referee pulls the game back for a foul way back at the start of the move.
86'
Bryan Gil enters the game and replaces Sergio Escudero.
Third and final change for Sevilla as Escudero, who missed a glorious opportunity in the first period, is replaced by Gil.
85'
S. Kjær gets yellow.
Kjaer is beaten by Modric and he concedes a foul on midfield, becoming the third Sevilla man to be booked.
84'
The concern for Sevilla is that this will be their third consecutive defeat across all competitions and it would open the door for the sides below them to claw closer in the hunt for Champions League football.
82'
Still time for Real Madrid to extend their advantage and they should be able to find space to work with, as Sevilla are likely to throw players forward in search of a late equaliser.
Minute
Description
80'
That could well be that as Sevilla, as mentioned, have offered barely anything in the final third and have made Courtois' return from injury very comfortable.
78'
Casemiro has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Sergio Reguilón.
Reguilon has been causing Sevilla problems down the left throughout the game but that ball was basic for the full-back. All the credit must go to Casemiro, with a goal that could be crucial.
GOOOOOOOAL! 1-0 Real Madrid! Los Blancos finally get the breakthrough and it is an absolutely fantastic strike from Casemiro, who lets fly from audacious range and hammers past Vaclik, who gets a hand to it but cannot keep the ball out.
77'
Isco enters the game and replaces Lucas Vázquez.
A complete reshuffle for Sevilla's attacking line but it will count for nothing unless the visitors can enjoy a spell of possession. They have managed just two shots in the game.
Solari shuffles his deck by introducing Isco in place of Lucas Vazquez, who has been one of Real Madrid's brightest players today.
75'
M. El Haddadi enters the game and replaces André Silva.
Another attacking change from the visitors as Munir, who recently signed from Barcelona, makes his debut. Silva makes way.
74'
WIDE! Reguilon whips a cross into the middle and Casemiro rises in the area to head at goal but his effort bounces wide.
73'
Time is running out for Real Madrid in a game that could be decisive with both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona playing later today.
71'
Q. Promes enters the game and replaces W. Ben Yedder.
Sevilla make the first change of the game and introduced Promes for Ben Yedder, providing additional pace to their attacking line.
69'
Sarabia puts the Real Madrid defence under pressure and tries to feed a pass through but Real Madrid's defence stands firm once again.
66'
The opportunity is wasted by Banega as he strikes his effort straight into the wall.
65'
Dani Ceballos gets yellow.
Ceballos is penalised and has his name taken by the referee, with Sevilla having a free-kick in a threatening position.
63'
Still not quite breaking for Real Madrid in the final third but they have managed to keep Sevilla contained, with the visitors asking nothing of Courtois since the restart.
61'
Casemiro gets yellow.
Casemiro fouls Ben Yedder down the right and becomes the first Real Madrid player to have his name taken by the referee today.
60'
An hour gone at the Santiago Bernabeu and Real Madrid look the side more likely to open the scoring as they maintain the pressure upon Sevilla but Vaclik has still been relatively untested.
58'
BLOCK! The hosts continue to pile on the pressure and Benzema feeds a pass to Ceballos, who strikes for goal but sees his effort deflected behind and the resulting corner comes to nothing.
56'
Just like the first half, Real Madrid have started well and are showing threat but have been unable to call Vaclik into action.
54'
É. Banega gets yellow.
Banega kicks the heels of Ceballos and has his name taken by the referee, with the foul not being his first infringement.
52'
Vinicius picks up the ball in a wide position on the left and charges into the box, firing an attempt wide of the far post as he looks to find the top corner of the net.
48'
Benzema tries to charge his way through the Sevilla defence but is thwarted by Carrico, who stands firm to relieve the danger.
46'
Sevilla get the action restarted for the second period.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 0-0 SEVILLA
45'
There will be two minutes of additional time at the end of the first half.
43'
Real Madrid have been guilty of conceding possession too easily on a number of occasions but Sevilla have not been able to take advantage, with both Ben Yedder and Silva feeding on scraps.
41'
Edging towards the interval and Real Madrid need to show significant improvements in the second period. Sevilla will be the happier of the two sides, although they too have struggled to make an impression in the final third.
36'
Modric wins a free-kick on the right in a position that presents an opportunity to float a cross into the middle and the Croatia international does exactly that, although his delivery is easily headed away.
32'
Not too much for the Real Madrid fans to shout about so far and Benzema, playing in the central position, has struggled to see much of the ball in threatening areas. It has been far too easy for Sevilla's defence so far.
30'
Daniel Carriço gets yellow.
Half an hour gone and the first yellow card of the game is issued to Carrico, who tripped Vinicius in midfield.
28'
Los Blancos try to find an avenue to test Sevilla from the left but Sarabia puts the ball behind for a corner, with the visiting side easily heading away Modric's delivery.
26'
Real Madrid will be wary that Sevilla have performed better in the second halves of their matches this season and the final 20 or so minutes of the first period will be crucial. As it stands though, there is not much evidence to suggests the hosts will open the scoring anytime soon.
24'
Encouraging signs from Sevilla, who have started to show some bite and have made it clear that Real Madrid's defence is vulnerable.
18'
Despite their dominance, Real Madrid have nothing to show from their efforts and have not created too many opportunities in front of goal.
13'
Sarabia fires the delivery into the middle but Real Madrid manage to get the ball away, with the visiting side forced to start again from the back.
12'
Still nothing from Sevilla so far as they remain on the back foot, although they push forward and win their first corner of the match.
10'
Vinicius continues to play on the front foot and latches onto a lobbed through ball from Lucas Vazquez but this time the offside flag is raised. Sevilla are struggling to cope with the pace of Real's talented wide players in the opening 10 minutes.
8'
Sevilla have taken a while to establish themselves in matches this season, often coming alive in the second half, but they made need to react differently here as Real Madrid continue to pile on the pressure.
5'
Lucas Vazquez has been lively in the opening minutes and has played a number of inviting balls into the middle, although his latest is easily collected by Vaclik.
3'
The hosts are starting on the front foot, dominating possession, with Real Madrid using width to try and find a breakthrough.

We are underway in the Spanish capital, where Real Madrid get the action started.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the LaLiga clash between Real Madrid and Sevilla, where the two sides enter the game level on points inside the Champions League spots.
Real Madrid's win over Real Betis last weekend, accompanied by Sevilla's somewhat surprising loss to a struggling Athletic Bilbao side, left things very finely poised for today's game at the Santiago Bernabeu. Both sides are also looking for a response after losing in the Copa Del Rey in midweek - although they secured their passage to the next round due to the aggregate score.
Real Madrid XI (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Reguilon; Luka Modric, Casemiro, Dani Ceballos; Lucas Vazquez, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
Real Madrid subs: Luca Zidane, Brahim Diaz, Federico Valverde, Marcelo, Isco, Nacho, Cristo Gonzalez.
Sevilla XI (3-4-1-2): Tomas Vaclik; Simon Kjaer, Daniel Carrico, Sergi Gomez; Jesus Navas, Ever Banega, Franco Vazquez, Sergio Escudero; Pablo Sarabia; Wissam Ben Yedder, Andre Silva.
Sevilla subs: Juan Soriano, Aleix Vidal, Quincy Promes, Munir El Haddadi, Gabriel Mercado, Ibrahim Amadou, Bryan Gil.
The two teams are heading onto the field and kick-off is just a few minutes away.
Real Madrid's concern will be that their injury issues mean there isn't too much experience on the bench to turn the tide around, while Sevilla will look to continue their fine record in the second halves of matches. To do that though, Ben Yedder and Silva need to see more of possession.
A disappointing first period from two sides who are capable of much better, although there were some chances. Vinicius forced a save from Vaclik early on, while at the other end Escudero wasted a golden opportunity. In the end though, both teams will know there is plenty to improve upon.
Real Madrid move two points behind Atletico, who play later today, and have an opportunity to put together a run of form with the fixtures that lie on the horizon - starting against Espanyol next weekend, which comes after their Copa Del Rey quarter-final clash with Girona. Sevilla, meanwhile, suffer their third defeat in a row in all competitions and have Barcelona up next in the cup, then hosting Levante next weekend.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye.
