We're underway at the Stadio Olimpico.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Serie A clash between Roma and AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico.
Hosts Roma will have had a few sleepless nights after their midweek 7-1 mauling against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia. Under-fire Giallorossi boss Eusebio Di Francesco said he feels like a father who’s given the wrong advice, and has called for unity in the Roman household. One suspects the 49-year-old can’t afford another high-profile defeat here.

Milan recorded their best result of the season last time out against Napoli, with new boy Krzysztof Piatek bagging a brace on cup duty. Gennaro Gattuso’s young side can open up a four-point gap on their opponents in fourth, and move within two points of Inter, should they win here, having won their last two league games against Roma. Triumph again and they will record a three-match winning streak over their opponents for the first time since 1996.
It’s been a tough evening for Roma with their fans showing their displeasure all half, and Di Francesco’s job may well be on the line now. Milan have played their part in making it difficult and lead after Piatek prodded in his third goal in two matches. Donnarumma ensured the visitors kept their advantage before the interval, thanks to a brilliant double-save denying Schick and Dzeko.
Pastore, Kluivert and El Shaarawy await on the bench should Di Francesco need to roll the dice. Milan will hope for further crowd unrest as they edge towards another big victory.
Roma and Milan stay a point apart in fifth and fourth, respectively, after both fail to take full advantage of Inter’s earlier defeat. Di Francesco might be happy to simply weather the storm with a good point, though, with a visit to bottom-side Chievo next. Milan return to action against Cagliari at home. That concludes our coverage, thanks for reading along.
