We're underway at St James' Park.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town at St James' Park.
Newcastle begin the first of two massive games this week in their battle against the drop. The Terriers are the first challenge then Burnley during the week also visit St James' Park. Rafa Benitez's men must capitalise on the opportunity to take six points from their two matches against their rivals that would put them in a healthy position. Willy Boly's late goal denied the Magpies a victory last time over Wolves. However, the club have won their last two home games, defeating Cardiff City and Manchester City.
Huddersfield are entering the last chance saloon in their bid for survival. Jan Siewert's men are winless in their last 14 matches in the Premier League, losing 13 of the contests. The Terriers are 14 points adrift of safety and unless they start winning matches very soon their return to the Championship could be confirmed in the coming weeks. Karlan Grant opened his account last time out in the defeat to Arsenal, and Siewert will need the forward along with the rest of his flair players to spark a miraculous run to safety.

Huddersfield did make a bright start to the game, but once the momentum swung in Newcastle's favour, they have been struggling to compete. Smith's dismissal has highlighted the club's issues this term. They've just not been good enough in the key moments. Jan Siewert's men have to conjure a way to hold out here.
Newcastle have another important home match during the week against Burnley on Tuesday, while Huddersfield face Wolves at the John Smith's Stadium.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
