Bayern are knocking the ball around now, seemingly happy with their six goals. Over at the Westfalenstadion, meanwhile, Christian Pulisic has just added a third for Dortmund - they are 3-1 up against Stuttgart and surely over the line.
88'
In-between Bayern's fifth and sixth goals, Paco Alcacer scored for Dortmund to put them 2-1 up against Stuttgart. Not quite the pefect day for Bayern, then, but it is very close to being so. Can the Bavarians bag a seventh goal in the remaining two minutes?
86'
E. Rexhbeçaj gets yellow.
Rexhbecaj is shown the game's first yellow card for his midfield challenge.
85'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
Ribery has only been on the field for half an hour but he now has three assists to his name - talk about making an impact! It was another good delivery, but Lewandowski still had plenty to do as he sent the ball spinning away from Casteels.
GOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 6-0 WOLFSBURG! This has now officially become a rout! Ribery claims another assist, bringing the ball onto his left and clipping it into the middle for Lewandowski to get in front of Brooks and send a header into the far corner.
83'
Y. Mallı enters the game and replaces Y. Gerhardt.
The game now well and truly out of his side's reach, Labbadia brings on Malli for Gerhardt.
82'
J. Kimmich has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 5-0 WOLFSBURG! Kimmich gets in on the act with a simple finish at the back post. Wolfsburg completely shut off as Ribery clips the ball to a completely unmarked Kimmich and, despite Casteels rushing across and making himself big, the full-back squeezes it in.
Ribery has really enjoyed himself since being introduced from the bench. The winger floats the ball over a number of players for Kimmich to finish off another positive attacking move.
80'
Wolfsburg defended well in the opening half an hour, restricting their opponents to very few chances, but Bayern - as they so often do - have found a way to break down the opposition. Even if Dortmund score a late winner against Stuttgart, Bayern will still go top on goal difference. This could well be a defining day in the title race.
78'
The home fans are making plenty of noise now, knowing that their side are heading to the top of the Bundesliga. Steffen tests Neuer but he got the timing of his run wrong and the offside flag goes up, so it would not have counted even if he had tucked it home.
76'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
Ribery showed good awareness to spot Muller in a central position, but credit must also go to Sanches for his part in the goal.
GOOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 4-0 WOLFSBURG! Bayern are looking like champions! Substitute Sanches teases William, sending him one way and then the other, before pulling it back to fellow sub Ribery. Ribery knocks the ball into the path of Muller and the ex-Germany international finds the bottom corner of the net with a first-time finish.
Minute
Description
74'
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Sanches is given a 15-minute run-out as he takes over from James, who has put in a brilliant shift.
73'
A huge roar has just gone around the Allianz Arena - news has clearly filtered through about that Kempf goal for Stuttgart. Bayern have dropped off the pace a little over the past couple of minutes, but Wolfsburg struggle to do much with the ball when knocking it around on the edge of the box. A weak penalty appeal for handball is waved away.
71'
Muller whips the ball into a dangerous area but Lewandowski cannot quite get a toe to it at full stretch. Will Kovac replace his leading goalscorer for the final 15 minutes?
70'
The Bayern pressure is pretty relentless. The home fans in the ground can be forgiven for following events at the Westfalenstadion instead, and they have received some good news as Marc-Oliver Kempf has just equalised for Stuttgart, cancelling out Reus' penalty opener for Dortmund.
68'
E. Rexhbeçaj enters the game and replaces M. Arnold.
Arnold, who has offered very little today, is replaced by Rexhbecaj. It is very much damage limitation for Wolfsburg at this point.
65'
DRAGGED WIDE! Alcantara's shot deflects wide of target, with Casteels grateful to see the ball drift the wrong side of the post. The visitors are unable to clear their lines from the corner and Lewandowski drags a shot wide from just inside the box - he had a big gap to aim for to Casteels' left.
63'
The visiting side are really struggling to keep hold of the ball. Bayern, with an eye on goal difference, look good value for a fourth goal.
62'
GORETZKA FROM DISTANCE! Some sloppy play from Wolfsburg gives Goretzka the chance to shoot from 20 yards. The effort is on target, but Casteels gets down to gather with minimal fuss.
60'
Arnold works some room for the shot but is unable to find the target. Bayern are cruising towards the finish line here, but it is not all good news as Dortmund have taken the lead against Stuttgart - Marco Reus opening the scoring from the penalty spot an hour in.
58'
R. Steffen enters the game and replaces A. Mehmedi.
The visitors' first change sees Steffen take over from Mehmedi with just over a third of the match to play.
57'
RARE SAVE FOR NEUER! Arnold tests Neuer for the first time today with a shot from range. It is a rather tame attempt, it must be said, and one the Bayern keeper is expected to keep out.
55'
F. Ribéry enters the game and replaces S. Gnabry.
Bayern's second change is effectively like-for-like as Ribery takes over from Gnabry out wide.
54'
L. Goretzka enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Kovac can now turn focus to Wednesday's meeting with Liverpool. Martinez, who picked up an injury in the first half but played on, is replaced by Goretzka.
52'
J. Rodríguez has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Thiago Alcântara.
GOOOOAAALLL!!! James, who has had another good game, adds his name to the scoresheet with an impressive goal. Boateng cuts out the ball inside his own half and works it to Thiago, who in turn finds James on the edge of the box. The Colombia attacker takes two touches to set himself and passes the ball into the bottom corner with his third.
Thiago had space to run into down the right, but instead of trying to take on his opponent he took the easier - and indeed the better - option in passing the ball to James 20 yards from goal.
51'
Wolfsburg's possession stats have improved quite considerably early in the second half. There has been very little action since the restart, however, with Rafinha being flagged for offside after being played in down the left.
47'
There is a little more urgency to Wolfsburg's play in the early stages of this second half. A goal for the visitors would set us up nicely, but they have not looked like scoring all day.
46'
Bayern, heading to the top of the Bundesliga, get us back underway in Bavaria!
45' +3
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 2-0 WOLFSBURG
45' +2
Lewandowski drifts out to the left-hand side and has a number of options in the middle, but his cross is cut out. Bayern are seemingly desperate for a third goal before half-time.
43'
Arnold catches Martinez on the ankle to leave the Bayern midfielder on the ground. It was a nasty challenge but certainly not malicious, so the referee is right to give Arnold just a brief talking to. Wolfsburg are breaking up play with a succession of fouls.
41'
It may well be game over with less than half of the match played thanks to those quickfire goals from Gnabry and Lewandowski. The hosts are bossing possession and have looked very comfortable over the last five minutes. A change of ploy is needed from Wolfsburg if they are to take anything from this game.
37'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by S. Gnabry.
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN MUNICH 2-0 WOLFSBURG! Bayern turn on the style to score their second goal in the space of three minutes. James slots the ball through for Gnabry, who unselfishly looks up and squares it to Lewandowski to tap in for his 196th Bundesliga goal. The Poland striker just loves playing against Wolfsburg!
Gnabry has an assist to go with his goal. The Germany winger could have gone for goal himself after being played in by James, but he made the right choice by setting up Lewandowski for a simple finish.
36'
It must be said that Bayern deserved that opening goal, even if they have been far from their best so far. Wolfsburg's gameplan will surely now change.
34'
S. Gnabry has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 1-0 WOLFSBURG! The champions break down the Wolfsburg wall thanks to some good play between Kimmich, Muller and Gnabry. Kimmich takes the ball past Arnold and then slips it down the line for Muller, who looks up and spots Gnabry four yards from goal. The winger sends the ball past Casteels with a nice outside-of-the-boot finish.
33'
Casteels has kept eight clean sheets this season and it is starting to become clear why. The Wolfsburg keeper has dealt with everything thrown at him and his defenders have also been solid throughout. This is turning into a difficult match for the hosts.
29'
STRAIGHT AT CASTEELS! This is more like it from Bayern. Gnabry tees up Lewandowski on the edge of the box and, after a fine first touch - just his fifth of the match - the striker fires a powerful shot down the centre of the goal for Casteels to make a rare save.
27'
HEADED OVER! This has to be considered a warning for the home side. Arnold swings in a corner and Gerhardt gets on the end of it, guiding his header over the crossbar. In a match of few chances, Labbadia will be disappointed his side did not make the most of that opportunity.
25'
William makes a real mess of a searching pass into the box, miscuing it across his own goal. Central-defensive team-mate Brooks reacts well to clear the ball before Lewandowski can pounce.
23'
Kovac's side are up to 67% possession but their play is still not penetrative enough. Wolfsburg, sitting deep inside their own half, are happy to deal with wide deliveries into the box.
22'
CASTEELS SWEEPS UP! Bayern have become a little stale over the last 10 minutes, but they finally step things up. A corner is sent into the middle of the box and Hummels gets a touch to it, though it lacks both the power and precision to beat Casteels in the Wolfsburg goal.
20'
Gnabry spots the overlapping run from Rafinha and plays the ball down the line. The cross is pretty weak and is cut out by the first man.
19'
The hosts are perhaps guilty of wanting a couple of touches too many when they get the ball to the edge of the box. Muller overruns the ball and Wolfsburg skipper Guilavogui pounces on it 30 yards from his goal.
17'
Bayern are probing away through Muller, James and Gnabry. Wolfsburg are defending solidly, however, with William in particular positioning himself well. The visitors are clearly focusing on hitting their opponents on the counter as and when they can.
15'
Casteels has had plenty to do in the opening 15 minutes of the match, although notably he has not yet made a save - it has mainly been cutting out crosses from both wings. Bayern continue to dictate the flow of the match without creating much.
13'
Gnabry is desperate to cut inside on his right but he has one too many defenders to squeeze past and Wolfsburg clear their lines. Three players pounced on the Bayern winger then, barely giving him a second to breathe - good defending.
11'
Bayern counter through Kimmich down the right. The full-back looks up and sends in a dangerous cross that bounces in front of Casteels, but none of his team-mates gamble by running in front of the visiting keeper.
9'
WAY OFF TARGET! Wolfsburg have managed to take the sting out of the game over the past few minutes. Muller picks up possession a good 30 yards from goal and decides to take on the shot, which sails high over the crossbar.
7'
Bayern have dominated the early stages of the game, as they tend to do in home meetings with Wolfsburg. Just the one real attempt of note so far, coming via Gnabry, though it has been one-way traffic since kick-off.
5'
SHOT! Gnabry fires the ball over the bar when given time and space to shoot. Kimmich then gets forward down the right and powers into the box, but his cross is gathered down low by Casteels.
3'
Neuer gives the ball away but Gerhardt cannot set himself for the shot, requiring one touch too many and allowing Bayern's defenders to bail their goalkeeper out.
2'
Less than two minutes played and Lewandowski already gets in behind the Wolfsburg defence. A quick exchange of passes with Muller catches the visitors out, but the striker cannot quite bring the ball under control in front of goal.
1'
Wolfsburg, aiming to end their terrible away record to Bayern, get us up and running!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern have hit form at just the right time by winning four games in a row and taking 33 points from a possible 36, seeing them completely close the gap on stuttering pacesetters Borussia Dortmund. The champions' 5-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, coupled with Dortmund's 2-1 loss at Augsburg, means that the two sides are level on 54 points with 10 games to go. Only goal difference separates the top two - BVB have scored two goals more, having conceded the same amount - so this is a two-way battle that looks as though it will go right down to the wire.
BAYERN XI (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer (c); Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Rafinha; Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara; Thomas Muller, James Rodriguez, Serge Gnabry; Robert Lewandowski.
WOLFSBURG XI (4-3-3): Koen Casteels; William, Robin Knoche, John Brooks, Jerome Roussillon; Yannick Gerhardt, Josuha Guilavogui (c), Maximilian Arnold; Admir Mehmedi, Wout Weghorst, Josip Brekalo.
Bayern subs: Renato Sanches, Leon Goretzka, Franck Ribery, Sven Ulreich, Alphonso Davies, Niklas Sule, Jeong Woo-yeong.
Wolfsburg subs: Paul Verhaegh, Elvis Rexhbecaj, Renato Steffen, Felix Uduokhai, Yunus Malli, Felix Klaus, Pavao Pervan.
Dortmund are also in action today, kicking off at the same time as Bayern at home to Stuttgart - will the title picture become any clearer a few hours from now? Wolfsburg may not be involved in the title race, meanwhile, but they do have some aspirations of their own as the finish line draws into sight. Bruno Labbadia's side are unbeaten in five league matches, winning three of those, to leave themselves four points off the top four. Wolfsburg also have the second-best away record in the league this season, with Bayern (30) the only side to collect more than their opponents' 23 points on their travels.
The two teams are now out on the field at the Allianz Arena and we are moments away from kick-off.
Dortmund remain locked at 0-0 in their home match with Stuttgart, so as things stand Bayern will move to the top of the table. Kovac may well turn focus to the midweek visit of Liverpool, but he would like a third goal before he considers giving certain regulars a rest. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, need to offer more of an attacking threat in the remaining 45 minutes.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
Bayern will be hoping to take their incredible league form into Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg with Liverpool, which is poised at 0-0 from the first leg at Anfield. Focus then turns back to the league next weekend as Mainz are the next visitors to Bavaria. As for Wolfsburg, heavily beaten at the Allianz Arena yet again, they return to action in a week's time with a home match against Fortuna Dusseldorf.
