FULL TIME: AJAX 2-3 TOTTENHAM (3-3 AGG, SPURS WIN ON AWAY GOALS).
90' +9
IT’S CLEARED! Moura is on the run, Spurs are up the pitch, and they are heading to the final!
90' +8
Ajax are back on the attack. We’re into the eighth minute of added time. They have a throw…
90' +6
Lucas Moura has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by D. Alli.
Alli was again involved, flicking the ball down to the edge of the box. De Ligt failed to get there, and Moura took full advantage!
MOURA!!!!!!! IT’S 3-2, SPURS ARE GOING THROUGH TO THE FINAL! Incredible. Just incredible! It’s a hat-trick, it’s amazing. Lucas Moura has proved the hero, somehow getting to a loose ball first and slotting a precise finish into the bottom-left corner.
90' +5
A. Onana gets yellow.
Onana gets a booking for time wasting.
90' +4
Spurs have a corner, and Lloris is coming up!
90' +2
Ziyech somehow manages to keep the ball in play, but then his legs seem to drop out on him, and he collapses to the turf. Spurs capitalise, only for Eriksen to then send a slack pass out of play.
90'
L. Magallán enters the game and replaces D. van de Beek.
That will be Van de Beek’s last involvement. The midfielder, who plays with a maturity well beyond his years, goes off to a resounding roar of appreciation. A defender – Magallan – is on.
89'
We’re heading into the final minutes of normal time now, and Ajax’s team are all back behind the ball as Spurs have a free-kick. They get it clear, though, with Van de Beek hoofing the ball up to Ziyech and Tadic, who force the ball out off of Davies for a throw.
86'
After Ajax have another penalty appeal turned away at the other end, Son engineers space in the hosts’ area, and his shot is cleared for a corner.
Minute
Description
85'
There is no subtlety to Tottenham’s tactics. Llorente is up top, and at every opportunity his team-mates are finding him, punting long, looping passes to the centre forward, who more often than not is winning his battles with Blind or De Ligt. Ajax, though, are still a constant threat on the counter. This is a truly remarkable encounter.
84'
Desperate defending from Ajax! Moura gets the better of Sinkgraven, who for a moment looks as though he might dive in and concede a penalty. Spurs’ winger gets the ball to Llorente, who turns back on himself and tries to get a shot off, but a swarm of defenders crowd him out.
82'
B. Davies enters the game and replaces D. Rose.
Rose, who has had a running battle with Ziyech and was on a booking, has made way for Davies.
Lamela is immediately involved, threading a pass into Llorente, who holds off his marker and tries to play it back to his team-mate. Blind, though, got to it.
81'
É. Lamela enters the game and replaces K. Trippier.
Lamela, who has returned from a lengthy injury lay off, has come on in place of Trippier.
80'
More superb counter-attacking play from Ajax, as Ziyech takes a wonderful touch to trap a long ball. He has Tottenham’s defence on their heels, and the space opens up for him to shoot. This time, though, he decides to find Tadic, and that allows Vertonghen to make a vital tackle.
77'
H. Ziyech gets yellow.
Ziyech dived in late on Rose, and receives a booking. Just over 10 minutes remain in Amsterdam, and Ajax are looking ragged!
76'
D. Rose gets yellow.
A booking for Rose, who let his temper get the better of him after conceding a free-kick, picking the ball up and thumping it into the turf.
75'
Moura is running riot at the moment, drifting wide and constantly finding pockets of space to operate in. This time, he gets down the right, but despite having a decent angle from which to shoot, he elects to pass it, allowing Ajax’s defence to scramble it clear.
73'
After withstanding a spell of Ajax pressure, Tottenham are now back on the front foot, as this enthralling, end-to-end contest continues to spiral out of control in a flurry of thunderous football. Alli leads the way, and cleverly clips the ball off Tagliafico for a corner.
70'
Ajax, with one moment of quality, break through Spurs’ lines, with Ziyech then floating a cross towards the back post. Sinkgraven was waiting for it, but Tadic intervened, and his heavy touch allowed Trippier to clear.
68'
Tadic has now moved central, with Sinkgraven on the left flank. Ziyech, however, is the player pushing Ajax forward down the other wing, finding Mazraoui, who believes he is fouled in the Spurs area. The referee, though, dismisses the claims for a spot-kick.
67'
D. Sinkgraven enters the game and replaces K. Dolberg.
Another change from Ten Hag, whose side are clearly panicking as Spurs up the pressure. Dolberg, who has been anonymous since the restart, goes off, with defender Sinkgraven coming on.
66'
Son wants a penalty, but instead, referee Felix Brych gives a foul the other way, with Tottenham’s number seven having lunged in on Veltman.
61'
Ajax have a chance now, after Ziyech charges his way through a tackle and then lets rip with a long-range shot, which deflects wide.
60'
J. Veltman enters the game and replaces L. Schöne.
Ten Hag has responded by making a change. Schone is off, with Veltman – who will go to right-back – coming on. Mazraoui is now in midfield.
59'
Lucas Moura has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur!
GOOOOAAAALL!! MOURA SCORES AGAIN, IT’S 2-2! Oh my word. I thought we’d witnessed the comeback of all comebacks yesterday, but incredibly, Spurs are now level on the night and one behind on aggregate! After a wonderful save by Onana to deny Llorente, Ajax failed to clear their lines, and Moura was able to latch onto the loose ball and, on the spin, unleash a pinpoint finish into the bottom-left corner.
57'
Well, the pressure is on Ajax now, and they will have to show that, along with their free-flowing attacking football, they have the defensive grit to see this through. Spurs still need another two goals, without conceding another, to go through, but they are certainly capable of getting them.
55'
Lucas Moura has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by D. Alli.
Alli has been by far Spurs' best performer so far, and it was a wonderful run by him. It looked as though Ajax's defence had crowded him out, but he showed great composure to turn back on himself, with Moura on hand to pick up the loose ball.
GOAL! MOURA PULLS ONE BACK FOR SPURS! It’s 2-1 on the night, and 3-1 on aggregate now, and Tottenham have some hope. A brilliant bit of skill from Rose gets the visitors away on the counter, Alli racing clear before turning the ball into Moura’s path, and he places a brilliant finish beyond Onana.
52'
Tottenham are applying a lot of pressure now, and clearly whatever Pochettino said to them at half-time has had the desired impact. Alderweireld delivers a dangerous cross, which Blind gets a crucial touch to in order to deny Llorente a free header.
50'
K. Dolberg gets yellow.
Dolberg has gone into the book for a foul on Rose.
49'
A bit of a sloppier start to the second half from Ajax, compared to their rampaging play at the beginning of the first half, with Spurs pushing high up the pitch and forcing some errors from their hosts.
47'
Well, maybe the Ajax fans should be worried! Llorente’s clever pass puts De Ligt in a bit of bother, and he just manages to get there ahead of Alli. Tottenham can’t make anything of the corner, though, and Ajax are quickly countering.
46'
Fernando Llorente enters the game and replaces V. Wanyama.
A half-time change for Spurs. Llorente was their hero against Manchester City in the quarter-finals, and he has replaced Wanyama. You would assume that means a change in shape, with Llorente going up top and Son, along with Moura, moving out wide.
Back up and running at Johan Cruijff ArenA, after Bob Marley’s classic song Three Little Birds – with its classic chorus of "don’t worry about a thing" – is belted out by the sound system. The Ajax fans carry on singing after the play restarts. Their team are 45 minutes from a Champions League final.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: AJAX 2-0 TOTTENHAM (3-0 AGG).
45' +1
Stunning from Ziyech who, after hunting down a long ball from Blind, then runs 50 yards back the other way to chase Rose. He manages to catch the full-back up, only to concede a free-kick, but the Ajax fans do not care one bit. That was their team’s ethos personified there. It has been a masterclass from Ten Hag’s side so far.
44'
A slack foul from Wanyama, who dived in recklessly on Schone, gives Ajax the chance to test Tottenham’s defence once again, just before we get to half-time. Ziyech delivers a good cross to De Ligt, who gets a header back into the six-yard box, but it is cleared for a corner.
41'
Tottenham’s talisman Kane is watching on from the stands, and how he will wish he could be on that pitch attempting to get Spurs back into this contest. The visitors race forward through Rose, who finds Son, but he is caught in two minds, and Blind nips in.
39'
This has been such an accomplished display by Ajax so far. Ten Hag’s side have been superb all season, but seem to be finding another level at the moment, and Spurs – one of the Premier League’s finest teams – simply do not have an answer at the moment.
35'
H. Ziyech has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by D. Tadić.
Ajax are flying, no, soaring in Amsterdam, and they are leaving Spurs in their wake. Tadic was the instigator, getting the better of Trippier – who claimed he was fouled, but to no avail – before driving forward and picking the right pass for Ziyech to double the hosts’ lead.
WHAT A GOAL! ZIYECH MAKES IT 2-0! This is wonderful from Ajax! Tadic gets the ball over Trippier, and combines with Dolberg. The former Southampton man then picks up his head and plays an inch-perfect cut-back to Ziyech, who slams an exquisite first-time finish into the far corner.
34'
Excellent play by De Jong, who just oozes confidence and class as he picks up possession right on the edge of Ajax’s box, but still gets his way out of trouble before drawing a foul from Sissoko. The 21-year-old is an incredible talent, and Ajax’s loss is certainly Barcelona’s gain.
29'
It appears that Trippier is struggling with what looks to be a groin injury. However, with no natural right-back on the bench, Pochettino is short on options should the ex-Burnley full-back have to come off.
28'
An outswinging corner from Rose is aimed for Vertonghen, but the defender – who is wearing a protective mask following his injury in the first leg – can’t get there. Moura meets it on the rebound, 20 yards out, but his wild strike sails well off target.
27'
Tottenham make a real fist of clearing their lines, with Ajax’s forwards all swarming the ball. However, Alli gets back to help out and, after some assured touches, bursts through the hosts’ midfield and gets Spurs upfield. Excellent play from the England international, who has looked bright so far.
23'
For one of the first times, Tottenham manage to play their way through Ajax’s press. That leads to Sissoko driving through midfield and finding Alli, who plays in Son, but the forward’s prod does not trouble Onana.
21'
Ziyech delivers a decent free-kick, but Vertonghen gets too it. Spurs look to pounce on the counter-attack, but Ajax’s players all race back – De Jong effortlessly getting to the ball before Son, with Ziyech then on hand to dribble his way out of danger.
20'
Fantastic pressing by Ajax, led by the superb Van de Beek, who forces Sissoko into an error. Tadic picks up the loose ball, and threads it through to Tagliafico, who draws a foul down on the left.
18'
You have to wonder how Neres’ absence will impact Ten Hag’s tactics as the game wears on. Ajax have been right at it from the first whistle, but Neres’ pace is a huge asset, and though Tadic has played more often as a winger than a striker during his career, he does not posses the same speed as his Brazilian team-mate. So far, though, he has not been missed.
16'
M. Sissoko gets yellow.
A hefty challenge by Sissoko, who lunged in late on Tagliafico. There appeared to be little malice in the challenge, but it was somewhat reckless, and the Spurs midfielder rightly receives a booking.
14'
Good pressure by Tottenham, as Son looks to link up with Alli, but Schone is on hand to make a crucial tackle. He finds Ziyech, who in turn tries to pick out Dolberg, but the striker can’t get there before Vertonghen does.
10'
Moura does well to get away from Blind, and sets Alli away, but his shot is blocked. Spurs quickly win the ball back, however, with Eriksen finding Alli, who shoots wide. It would not have counted anyway, however, given that the offside flag had gone up.
9'
Tottenham have responded well to going behind, and Pochettino’s side are starting to get a bit of a foothold on the ball, though the noise from the Ajax faithful is deafening and, spurred on by their fans, Ten Hag’s side press their visitors, forcing it all the way back to Lloris.
6'
Spurs’ defending left a lot to be desired, but it was a superb corner by Schone, and an even better header by Ajax’s teenage sensation De Ligt, who had easily escaped Trippier.
5'
M. de Ligt has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by L. Schöne.
GOAL! AJAX LEAD 1-0! What a header from De Ligt. Ajax’s young captain rose highest to meet Schone’s outswinging corner, and made no mistake with a brilliant header into the bottom-right corner. What a start this is for Ajax!
4'
SAVE! What a big stop that is from Lloris! Just like in the first leg, Ajax have started well in top, and after Van de Beek sees an effort blocked, Tadic unleashes a powerful strike from the edge of Spurs’ box. It takes a deflection and is heading for the top-left corner, but Lloris makes a fantastic save to tip it wide.
2'
A late change for Ajax has seen Dolberg come in for Neres, who pulled out in the warm up. The Denmark international will start up front, with Tadic moving to the left flank.
1'
KICK-OFF! It promises to be a cracker, and the game is up and running in Amsterdam, with Spurs getting proceedings underway.
Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Ajax and Tottenham!
We witnessed one of the greatest ever Champions League comebacks on Tuesday, as Liverpool beat Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to secure a 4-3 aggregate win and progress into the final. Now, it’s down to Ajax and Tottenham to take the other place, and set up what is sure to be an enthralling encounter in Madrid on June 1.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Erik Lamela, Eric Dier, Fernando Llorente, Juan Foyth, Paulo Gazzaniga, Ben Davies, Oliver Skipp.
TOTTENHAM (4-3-1-2): Hugo Lloris; Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose; Moussa Sissoko, Victory Wanyama, Christian Eriksen; Dele Alli; Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura.
Ajax lead 1-0 on aggregate, thanks to Donny van de Beek’s strike in the first leg. Erik ten Hag’s side won the KNVB Beker on Sunday, claiming what they will hope will be the first trophy of a treble. Spurs were fortunate not to go further behind in this tie, with Ajax squandering good chances to further their advantage, but have kept themselves in with a chance heading into this clash at Johan Cruijff ArenA.
Some reports had suggested that Harry Kane would be fit enough to take his place on Spurs’ bench today, but that has proved not to be the case. Mauricio Pochettino has made two changes from the defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, with Wanyama and Vertonghen – who was forced off with a head injury in the first leg, though tests later confirmed the Belgian international did not suffer a concussion – replacing Dier and former Ajax man Davinson Sanchez, who is injured.
The teams are about to come out in Amsterdam, where the atmosphere is crackling with anticipation for what should be a cracking contest! A place in the final awaits one of these sides. Stick right here for all the action as it happens!
AJAX (4-2-3-1): Andre Onana; Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Daley Blind, Nicolas Tagliafico; Lasse Schone, Frenkie de Jong; Hakim Ziyech, Donny van de Beek, Dusan Tadic; Kasper Dolberg.
AJAX SUBS: Joel Veltman, Daley Sinkgraven, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Lisandro Magallan, Bruno Varela, Dani de Wit.
Ten Hag will know that Ajax have their destiny well within their own hands, with Tottenham needing to score three to go through. Pochettino, meanwhile, must look to find some positives from that opening 45 minutes if Spurs are to somehow claw their way back into contention – although given Liverpool’s comeback yesterday, you cannot rule that out!
Harry Kane is on the pitch, Mauricio Pochettino is crying. Spurs fans are in raptures. But, after a few moments of overcoming the shock, the home faithful laud their young team, many of whom – the outgoing Frenkie de Jong included – are still tearful.
Well, that’s all we have time for today. It has been an absolute pleasure to bring you a remarkable game that will go down long in the memory of any fan! A mouth-watering Madrid final awaits!
It has been an outstanding effort from Ajax, who right up until the last moment looked set to be heading through. The hosts' young team may well be dismantled now, but Ten Hag's side have done the giant Dutch club proud this season. However, this dramatic Champions League campaign had another twist, and it is Spurs who have set up an all English final against Liverpool, whose own comeback win over Barca yesterday may have just been topped!
