Hello, and welcome to our live coverage of this Ligue 1 match between Angers and Paris Saint-Germain
While PSG are a daunting opponent, Angers can be confident heading into this match considering they have not lost in their last seven home matches in Ligue 1, and have picked up twice as many points over the last five games (eight) as the Parisian side (four).
PSG have hit a bit of a rough patch of late, having lost more Ligue 1 matches (three) than anyone but Bordeaux (four) since the start of April. Despite this Thomas Tuchel's side did still manage to secure their place as champions on April 21st when Lille drew with Toulouse.
Now let's look at how these sides will be setting up today.
Angers (4-3-3): Ludovic Butelle; Vincent Manceau, Ismael Traore, Mateo Pavlovic, Theo Pellenard; Angelo Fulgini, Baptiste Santamaria, Vincent Pajot; Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Stephane Bahoken, Flavien Tait.
Angers substitutes: Ibrahim Cisse, Wilfried Kanga, Zacharie Boucher, Pierrick Capelle, Farid El Melali, Elhadji Djibril Diaw, Rayan Ait Nouri.
PSG (3-4-3): Gianluigi Buffon; Colin Dagba, Marquinhos, Loic Mbe Soh; Dani Alves, Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Juan Bernat; Angel Di María, Edinson Cavani, Neymar.
PSG substitutes: Moussa Diaby, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Julian Draxler, Christopher Nkunku, Layvin Kurzawa, Alphonse Areola, Arthur Zagre.
Three changes from manager Thomas Tuchel after his side’s 1-1 draw with Nice last time out. Buffon, Soh, and Dagba all come into the side with Arreola and Draxler dropping to the bench while Kimpembe misses out altogether. Despite a physical altercation with a fan after losing the Coup de France Neymar is in the team and still eligible to play today with his suspension not going into effect until Monday. The Brazilian will need to be at his best today as well considering fellow attacker, and the club’s leading scorer, Kylian Mbappe is currently serving a suspension of his own after being shown a red card for an awful challenge against Nimes.
There probably won't be too many changes at half-time as Angers will likely be pleased with the chances they did create while PSG have a goal advantage and, with the title already in hand, do not need to shift to a more defensive set-up to ensure the win. Because of that, there probably will not be significant alterations by either side until the 60th minute or after the next goal is scored.
As for what's coming for these clubs, Angers will travel to face second-place Lille next weekend while PSG will be in a celebratory mood as they play their last home match of the season against Dijon on Saturday.
That will do it for our live coverage of this Ligue 1 match between Angers and Paris Saint-Germain! We hope you enjoyed following along, and will join us again soon!
