Griezmann gets the game underway for Atletico!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the LaLiga meeting between Levante and Atletico Madrid at Ciutat de Valencia!
Levante come into this game having won three of their last four games (L1) in the league which has helped them to avoid relegation and keep their place in the competition next season. Atletico, meanwhile, secured second place in the league last time out after drawing with Sevilla but are winless in their last two LaLiga matches (D1 L1).
LEVANTE STARTING XI (3-5-2): Koke; Erick Cabaco, Ruben Vezo, Chema Rodriguez; Pedro Lopez, Ruben Rochina, Jose Campana, Enis Bardhi, Antonio Luna; Roger Marti, Raphael Dwamena.
LEVANTE SUBS: Oier Olazabal, Shaquell Moore, Jose Luis Morales, Moses Simon, Fran Manzanara, Borja Mayoral, Pepelu.
ATLETICO MADRID STARTING XI (4-4-2): Antonio Adan; Juanfran, Diego Godin, Francisco Montero, Filipe Luis; Koke, Rodrigo, Thomas Partey, Thomas Lemar; Angel Correa, Antoine Griezmann.
ATLETICO MADRID SUBS: Toni Moya, Santiago Arias, Vitolo, Alex Dos Santos, Manuel Sanchez, Victor Mollejo, Sergio Camello.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Diego Simeone makes just three changes to the side that started their last game. Adan replaces Jan Oblak in goal, with Lemar and Correa the other players to start in place of Alvaro Morata and Saul Niguez. Griezmann, Godin and Juanfran are also handed starts for their final games for Atletico today after announcing they would be leaving at the end of the season.
Levante looked the better side for large portions of the first half and were causing Atletico a lot of problems when they got forward. If they continue to attack the same way they did before the break, then they look very likely to add to their goal tally. Simeone won't be happy with how his side performed, especially defensively after the second goal was conceded. Going forward, they have looked a threat, despite not scoring, but they were unable to get out of their own half at the end of the half. Atletico need to close down the space at the back before they start going for goal, otherwise, they'll leave themselves too open on the counter-attack.
Levante currently sit 14th in LaLiga, but depending on the results of the other teams around them, their league position could still change before the season finishes tomorrow. Atletico had already guaranteed their second-place finish last weekend for the second consecutive year.
