We're underway in this Ligue 1 clash.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Ligue 1 clash between Reims and Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Auguste-Delaune.
PSG have long since secure the Ligue 1 title for the second season on the bounce and the sixth time in the last seven years. However, Thomas Tuchel remains under pressure despite delivering the crown. His side's premature exit in the Champions League and defeat in the Coupe de France final have raised the possiblity that the German could leave after only one season at the Parc des Princes. PSG have to finish on a high note this evening to ensure they end the campaign with a flourish.
Reims have enjoyed another strong season under the tenure of David Guion, sitting in ninth place in the table ahead of kick-off. The club placed in seventh last year and were on course to match that performance and perhaps could have made a late surge for a European place. However, their form towards the end of the term dipped, winning only one of their last eight matches. It came last time out against Bordeaux on the road. Guion will want his team to bow out of the season with a stellar outing against the champions.
REIMS SUBS: Marvin Martin, Sheyi Ojo, Pablo Chavarria, Arber Zeneli, Thomas Fontaine, Nolan Mbemba, Nicolas Lemaitre.
PSG (4-3-3): Gianluigi Buffon; Thomas Meunier, Marquinhos, Thilo Kehrer, Layvin Kurzawa; Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Julian Draxler; Angel di Maria, Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe.
PSG SUBS: Dani Alves, Juan Bernat, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Christopher Nkunku, Colin Dagba, Loic Mbe Soh, Sebastian Cibois.
Reims have made three changes to their side from their victory over Bordeaux last time out. Bba, Disasi and Oudin come into the fold as Thomas Foket, Bjorn Engels and Suk Hyun-Jun miss out this evening.
Reims capitalised on their pressure and arguably should have been further ahead. Guion's men have been dangerous in and around the box, using the pace on their flanks to pin back the visitors. They have to sustain their performance to see out the victory as PSG will have their moments in the second half.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Reims finish the season in eighth place as a result of their win this evening. PSG end the campaign as champions once again and 16 points clear of second-place Lille, highlighting their dominance of French football.
