Lichnovsky stretched out for a ball and clipped the foot of Rodriguez, though it's unlikely to have been enough contact to warrant the full minute that the latter has rolled around and sat on the pitch.
88'
Cavani takes a shot from wide, and outside the penalty area that ends up nearer the left corner flag than the goal. Poor and unnecessary attempt from the PSG man, that.
86'
After little, to no contact from Fernandes, Gimenez has a nice lie down in his own penalty area with the referee urging for him to get up. Let the time-wasting begin.
84'
Well now, let's see if that livens things up a touch!
82'
E. Cavani has scored a goal for Uruguay! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
Rodriguez was found in space on the edge of the box by Suarez, and the former then turned and chipped the ball in the direction of Cavani who headed the ball past Arias for the goal!
GOOALLLL!!!! URUGUAY TAKE THE LEAD IN THE FINAL 10 MINUTES! Cavani, after a pass in from Rodriguez, nodded his header down into the bottom-left corner of the goal past a diving Arias! As things stand, Uruguay will emerge as Group C winners! Chile 0-1 Uruguay

I. Lichnovsky enters the game and replaces G. Medel.
Gary Medel, after being down on the pitch for a little bit, is now taken off with Lichnovsky the chosen replacement.

Play has been mostly stop-start since the break as misplayed passes and fouls begin to rack up on both sides.

A bit of discord as the linesman gestured for a Chile throw, but the referee signals for a Uruguayan free-kick. The Chile players do not agree with the change in call.
48'
CHANCE! From a corner, Godin gets a free header in the box and directs it goal-ward where Arias manages to grab, and hold onto it! Anywhere else and that would have been a goal!

The referee blows his whistle once more, and this match is back underway!

HALF-TIME: Chile 0-0 Uruguay

36'
Aranguiz has a loose touch in the box after a fantastic ball in from Alexis out left, and the chance goes.
34'

23'
CHANCE! Suarez gets to a backpass before the 'keeper does! The first touch takes him around Arias, but the latter recovers and blocks the Uruguayan's attempt behind for a corner!
21'
Uruguay are getting forward more now, though sustained possession still proves to be difficult for them.
19'
From a throw-in, Suarez collects the ball in the box before laying it off to De Arrascaeta who hammers the first-time shot, but it was always rising and failed to trouble Arias.
17'
De Arrascaeta is taken down on the right wing, and Uruguay will have a dangerous free-kick in the final third.
13'
A diagonal ball is played out to Opazo on the right wing, and the ensuing cross gets the lightest touch goal-ward from Vargas, but the ball winds up in the safe hands of Muslera.
11'
Aranguiz tries a powerful shot from distance that is parried away by Muslera, whose palms will surely be stinging after that effort.
9'
Gimenez does well to head away a cross that was sent toward Vargas at the back-post, though it does go behind for a Chile corner.

Referee Raphael Claus blows his whistle, and this match is underway!
Hello, and welcome to our live coverage of this Copa America match between Chile and Uruguay!
We should be in for an exciting match seeing as these two nations both rank top-three in goals scored at the 2019 Copa America (six each).
Now, let’s take a look at the team news!
Chile (3-4-1-2): Gabriel Arias; Gary Medel, Gonzalo Jara, Guillermo Maripan; Paulo Diaz, Erick Pulgar, Charles Aranguiz, Oscar Opazo; Pablo Hernandez; Alexis Sanchez, Eduardo Vargas.
Chile substitutes: Esteban Pavez, Jean Beausejour, Arturo Vidal, Nicolas Castillo, Mauricio Isla, Yerko Urra, Brayan Cortes, Diego Valdes, Jose Pedro Fuenzalida, Junior Fernandes, Angelo Sagal, Igor Lichnovsky.
Uruguay (4-4-2): Fernando Muslera; Giovanni Gonzalez, Jose Gimenez, Diego Godin, Martin Caceres; Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Federico Valverde, Rodrigo Bentancur, Nicolas Lodeiro; Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez.
Uruguay substitutes: Martin Silva, Sebastian Coates, Lucas Torreira, Nahitan Nandez, Maximiliano Gomez, Martin Campana, Gaston Pereiro, Diego Laxalt, Jonathan Rodriguez, Cristhian Stuani, Marcelo Saracchi.
It will be four changes for Chile after their 2-1 win against Ecuador last time out. Isla, Beausejour, Vidal, and Fuenzalida all drop to the bench with Maripan, Opazo, Diaz, and Hernandez coming into the XI. The key man today though will likely be Eduardo Vargas. Yes, Sanchez tends to draw the headlines, but it’s Vargas who is level with Paolo Guerrero for the most Copa America goals scored by active players (12). Can he score and send Chile through as winners of Group C?
Three changes for Uruguay who can secure their place in the quarter-finals with a win or draw. Gonzalez, De Arrascaeta, and Valverde are named in the starting line-up, while Laxalt, Nandez, and Torreira drop out. Of course, the headline grabbers for Uruguay are their strike pairing of Suarez and Cavani. The two of them rank first and second in total shots taken at this tournament with 21 and 17 respectively, and will be hoping their goalscoring talents will be enough to see them win, and advance.
The teams are out on the pitch as the national anthems ring around the Estadio do Maracana. Not long to go until kick-off now!
With the match and Group C on the line, it will be interesting to see how these sides approach the second half. For Chile, bringing on a forward would probably improve things as they have had the majority of the ball thus far but haven't looked particularly dangerous in the final third. Uruguay have had the exact opposite issue as they've looked more likely to score, but have been limited by just over 40 per cent possession. Adding another midfielder would probably help them take back some control in the middle of the pitch and improve their chances of winning both this match and the group.
With both sides having advanced to the quarter-finals, Uruguay will hope to carry their momentum from this win into their next match against Peru, while Chile will hope to put on a better performance against Colombia on Friday.
That will do it for our live coverage of this Copa America match between Chile and Uruguay! We hope you enjoyed following along, and will join us again soon!
