We're underway at Allianz Stadium.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Serie A clash between Juventus and Napoli at Allianz Stadium.
JUVENTUS (4-3-3): Wojciech Szczesny; Mattia De Sciglio, Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt, Alex Sandro; Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matuidi; Douglas Costa, Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
JUVENTUS SUBS: Paulo Dybala, Danilo, Juan Cuadrado, Mario Mandzukic, Emre Can, Daniele Rugani, Adrien Rabiot, Merih Demiral, Rodrigo Bentancur, Carlo Pinsoglio, Federico Bernadeschi, Gianluigi Buffon.
NAPOLI (4-4-1-1): Alex Meret, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kostas Manolas, Kalidou Koulibaly, Faouzi Ghoulam; Jose Callejon, Allan, Piotr Zielinski, Lorenzo Insigne, Fabian Ruiz; Dries Mertens.
NAPOLI SUBS: Kevin Malcuit, Mario Rui, Simone Verdi, Hirving Lozano, Eljif Lomas, Sebastiano Luperto, Nikola Maksimovic, Elseid Hysaj, David Ospina, Orestis Karnezis, Amin Younes, Gianluca Gaetano.
As expected De Ligt comes into the fold to replace Chiellini in the heart of the Juve defence ahead of Rugani and Demiral. It's the only change for Sarri from the win over Parma last week as Douglas Costa and Higuain retain their places ahead of Mandzukic and Dybala.
Napoli played out a seven-goal thriller in their opener against Fiorentina. They went behind early in the contest, but strikes from Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne put them ahead before Nikola Milenkovic equalised. Jose Callejon re-established their advantage, only for Kevin-Prince Boateng to level. However, Insigne secured the three points with his second of the match. Napoli were not able to defeat Juve in their match-ups last season, but could send out a statement this evening.
Juventus kicked off their campaign last week under new manager Maurizio Sarri, although he was not there in person due to receiving treatment for pneumonia. The Bianconeri defeated Parma on the road courtesy of a first-half goal from Giorgio Chiellini, kicking off the new season with three points. However, Chiellini has since suffered a torn ACL that will keep him for the majority of the term, leaving Sarri without his captain. Fortunately for Juve, Matthijs de Ligt will slot straight into the side to replace the Italian, although it will be a baptism of fire against Sarri's former team.
Carlo Ancelotti faces a major challenge at the break to get his side in gear. They've been vulnerable at the back as the pace of Juve down the left flank has been too much to handle. The visitors are losing the battle in the middle of the park as Khedira and Blaise Matuidi are controlling proceedings. Napoli have to make a mark in the second half to try to address the balance in the game and in the bigger picture Serie A.
Domestic action takes a break for a couple of weeks due to international matches. When Serie A resumes, Juve are next in action away to Fiorentina, while Napoli play their first home match of the campaign against Sampdoria.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
