And we're off!
Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of this LaLiga match between Barcelona and Valencia at Camp Nou, Barcelona.
This hasn't been an easy week for Valencia. Having sacked their previous boss Marcelino after 'only' getting four points from their first three league games and winning the Copa del Rey, the club are now in what seems like unnecessary turmoil. Facing Barcelona now is not the ideal scenario.
Thankfully for them, Barcelona haven't had the brightest start to the season either. The champions too sit mid-table after only winning one of their opening three games, conceding a late equaliser last time out to Osasuna. What happens here is anyone's guess.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Arthur, Sergio Busquets (c), Frenkie de Jong; Carles Perez, Antoine Griezmann, Anssumane Fati.
SUBS: Sergi Roberto, Arturo Vidal, Inaki Pena, Ivan Rakitic, JuniorFirpo, Luis Suarez, Jean-Clair Todibo.
VALENCIA (4-4-2): Jasper Cillessen; Daniel Wass, Ezequiel Garay, Gabriel Paulista, Jose Gaya; Ferran Torres, Francis Coquelin, Daniel Parejo (c), Goncalo Guedes; Rodrigo Moreno, Kevin Gameiro.
The two teams are now out on the Camp Nou pitch! Let's get this show on the road!
It's hard to know what Valencia can do differently in the second half to pull this level. Now they've got their defence together, they just need to hope that Barcelona leave space at the back and take the opportunities that come their way. That is, of course, if Barcelona don't score first.
Barca's victory lifts them to 4th in the LaLiga table on seven points, two behind leaders Atletico Madrid who went down 2-0 away to Real Sociedad earlier. Valencia stay mid-table in 14th, although they surely won't stay there for long. Time for them to put their recent turmoil behind them.
Both teams now turn their attention to Champions League duty coming up midweek - Barca head to Dortmund while Valencia head to Chelsea. For both of them, the season remains very young. That's all for now. Goodbye!
