Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League meeting between Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion at St James' Park!
Both teams brought in new managers before the start of the season and both have struggled to pick up wins so far. Newcastle have won just one of their five games under Steve Bruce in the league (D1 L3), beating Tottenham 1-0 in that victory. Brighton have also only won once in the competition under Graham Potter when they beat Watford 3-0 on the opening weekend, drawing two and losing two of the other matches.
NEWCASTLE UNITED STARTING XI (5-4-1): Martin Dubravka; Javier Manquillo, Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Jetro Willems; Miguel Almiron, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Christian Atsu; Joelinton.
NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBS: Karl Darlow, Yoshinori Muto, Emil Krafth, Allan Saint-Maximin, Federico Fernandez, Ki Sung-yeung, Andy Carroll.
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION STARTING XI (4-3-1-2): Mat Ryan; Martin Montoya, Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Dan Burn; Davy Propper, Dale Stephens, Aaron Mooy; Pascal Gross, Neil Maupay, Steven Alzate.
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION SUBS: David Button, Aaron Connolly, Gaetan Bong, Yves Bissouma, Shane Duffy, Tudor Baluta, Glenn Murray.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Bruce is looking to avoid becoming only the second Newcastle manager to fail to win any of his opening three Premier League games at St James' Park after Steve McClaren.
Potter will be impressed with how his side played in the first half but will want to see an improvement in the final third after the break. They've created a lot of chances for themselves but haven't really challenged Dubravka that often in their search for a breakthrough. Bruce's side have had a couple of good opportunities in front of goal, but they need to keep possession better if they want to challenge Brighton and get a goal in this game.
That's all for today, goodbye!
Newcastle move up to 17th in the table following that draw and they face a tough test next time out when they travel to Leicester City. Brighton also move up a place into 16th, but their focus now turns to the EFL Cup when they face Aston Villa in midweek.
