The game is petering out now, with the tempo dropping in the closing stages. Just a matter of moments until Ajax's win is officially confirmed.
90'
WIDE! Huntelaar strains to connect with a cross from the left, but can only divert his header wide of the target.
88'
S. de Jong enters the game and replaces D. van de Beek.
Van de Beek is replaced in Ten Hag's final change of the night, with De Jong replacing him in midfield.
85'
K. Huntelaar enters the game and replaces H. Ziyech.
Ziyech is replaced by Huntelaar, who goes up front, meaning Tadic goes out to the right wing.
82'
D. Blind gets yellow.
Blind goes into the book as he times his challenge on Rodrigo poorly. That's three of Ajax's four defenders on a booking now!
81'
David Neres enters the game and replaces Q. Promes.
Q. Promes gets yellow.
Neres is the man to replace Promes on the left wing for the final few minutes.
Promes receives a yellow card for taking too long to leave the field as he is substituted off. He's not pleased with the referee and makes his displeasure very evident as he goes off.
78'
SHOT! Guedes sees a shot blocked from outside the box. Valencia seem to have resorted to long-distance shooting, but it's not a tactic that is paying any dividends as yet.
76'
E. Garay gets yellow.
D. Cheryshev enters the game and replaces Ferran Torres.
Garay now goes into the book for a clumsy foul on Van de Beek, who has been causing all sorts of problems.
The final Valencia change sees Cheryshev replace Torres out wide, bringing a little more pace to the role.
74'
SHOT! Wass takes on an ambitious shot from outside the box that has plenty of sting in it, but Onana holds on well.

Description
72'
Lee Kang-In gets yellow.
Lee scythes Alvarez down and the referee wastes no time in brandishing a yellow card.
70'
Thierry Correia enters the game and replaces F. Coquelin.
Celades makes his second change of the night, sacrificing defensive midfielder Coquelin and introducing Correia.
67'
D. van de Beek has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by D. Tadić.
Tadic slipped his team-mate into the box with an excellent pass following some excellent build-up play.
GOAL!! Van de Beek makes it 3-0 to Ajax! It's a lovely move and the midfielder finishes it off well, steering it across Cillessen from the right side of the six-yard box after being played through by Tadic with a delicate throughball. They simply carved Valencia open there.
63'
Ajax are starting to control the pace of the game now, looking more like their usual selves in possession with some tidy passing.
61'
A. Onana gets yellow.
SHOT! Parejo has another go at a free-kick but, like his first, the effort is blocked away fairly comfortably.
Onana joins the club of booked Ajax players as he's shown a yellow card for timewasting.
60'
Lisandro Martínez gets yellow.
Martínez is the third Ajax player to be booked, picking up a yellow card for a late foul on Rodrigo on the edge of the box.
57'
Lee Kang-In enters the game and replaces M. Gómez.
Gomez is replaced by exciting young talent Lee. The substitute will play deeper than Gomez, behind Rodrigo.
53'
Coquelin showcases some very neat footwork, wriggling out of a tight spot in midfield as he's pressed by two Ajax players. Not the sort of skills usually associated with the Frenchman!
51'
This game has a frantic feel about it at the start of the half, with neither side settled in possession. Valencia have come out swinging, but just can't seem to get the ball across the line.
46'
We're back under way for the second half!
45' +2
HALF-TIME: VALENCIA 0-2 AJAX
45' +1
Jaume Costa gets yellow.
Costa hacks Tadic down and is the first Valencia player to pick up a yellow card.
44'
Valencia push forward in an attempt to pull one back before the break. Torres drives inside from the right but his final ball is under-hit on the edge of the box and Ajax get the ball clear.
40'
OVER! Wass fires the ball into the box with considerable pace and it hits the head of Gabriel and goes over. He didn't really have time to react to that one.
34'
Q. Promes has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by D. van de Beek.
Van de Beek profitted from some very poor decision-making at the back as the ball wasn't cleared away, and he showed quick feet to make a yard and play Promes in for a chance he couldn't pass up.
GOAL!! Promes makes it 2-0 to Ajax! Tadic is dispossessed as he reaches the right byline, but the ball is played straight to Van de Beek, who squares to Promes for a simple finish from close range. Cillessen actually gets a touch, but it's too close for him to keep it out.
31'
OVER! Guedes replicates Parejo's penalty, only from outside the box, smashing his effort well over the bar and into the upper tier of the stands.
29'
Ajax have been a bit clumsy in their attempts to win the ball back so far, as Tadic gives away yet another foul as he challenges Costa in the final third.
27'
N. Tagliafico gets yellow.
Tagliafico goes in rashly on Torres and is the latest Ajax defender to go into the book.
25'
MISSED! The usually-reliable Parejo steps up to the spot and absolutely blazes it over the bar! That's one of the worst penalties you'll ever see! Straight into row Z.
21'
Valencia are enjoying a spell of possession, hitting Ajax with waves of attacks, but they haven't been able to make the most of it just yet.
19'
SHOTS! Wass' free-kick is disappointingly into the wall, and Rodrigo's follow-up is also charged down just inside the area.
15'
NO PENALTY! Torres jinks his way inside from the right and gets into the box before going over, but the referee waves his protests away and tells him to get on with it, much to the home crowd's dismay.
13'
Onana comes for the resulting free-kick but flaps a little at Parejo's delivery and just about punches it clear at the second attempt. Not particularly convincing from the Ajax shot-stopper.
12'
J. Veltman gets yellow.
Veltman struggles to deal with the pace of Guedes and is forced to fell him as he heads for the byline, earning himself a yellow card.
10'
The pattern of this game is already very clear. Valencia, despite being the home side, have ceded possession to an Ajax side that are superior on the ball and are looking to sit deep before hitting their opponents on the counter. They couldn't legislate for a strike of that quality from Ziyech though, and they may be forced to open up a little more than they had hoped.
8'
H. Ziyech has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by D. Tadić.
GOAL!!! WHAT A HIT FROM ZIYECH! Wow! Ziyech picks the ball up on the right wing and cuts inside towards the corner of the box. He then unleashes an unstoppable, dipping strike from outside the area that flies into the top-left corner over a helpless Cillessen! It's 1-0 to Ajax!
Tadic played the ball wide to Ziyech, but the winger had plenty to do from that distance before finding the net.
7'
Valencia break again down their right-hand side but the final cross is neither into the box nor to the edge of the area, and ends up going straight back to Ajax.
5'
SHOT! Valencia break quickly down their right and a deflected cross finds Parejo on the edge of the box, but his shot sails straight into the arms of Onana.
3'
Gabriel steps out well to intercept and Ziyech scraps to win it back high up the field, but a foul is given against the Moroccan.

We're off at the Mestalla!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Champions League Group H clash between Valencia and Ajax at the Mestalla Stadium.
Valencia XI (4-4-2): Jasper Cillessen; Daniel Wass, Ezequiel Garay, Gabriel Paulista, Jaume Costa; Ferran Torres, Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin, Goncalo Guedes; Rodrigo Moreno, Maxi Gomez
Both sides won their opening Champions League games, with Valencia winning 1-0 against Chelsea and Ajax thumping Lille 3-0. A win for either tonight would put them in a commanding position at the top of the group.
Valencia substitutes: Denis Cheryshev, Jaume Domenech, Ruben Sobrino, Manu Vallejo, Mouctar Diakhaby, Thierry Correia, Lee Kang-In
Ajax XI (4-2-3-1): Andre Onana; Sergino Dest, Joel Veltman, Daley Blind, Nicolas Tagliafico; Edson Alvarez, Lisandro Martinez; Hakim Ziyech, Donny van de Beek, Quincy Promes; Dusan Tadic
Ajax substitutes: Bruno Varela, Siem de Jong, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, David Neres, Perr Schuurs, Razvan Marin, Kik Pierie
Ziyech has certainly brought his shooting boots with him tonight. Aside from the goal, he saw an excellent strike come back off the crossbar and a free-kick well-saved before the break. Ajax did cede more possession than they were perhaps expecting to after a dominant start to the game, but Valencia could not make the most of their period on top and eventually conceded a second. Plenty of work to do for Celades, who was left shaking his head at his side's inability to finish off their chances.
Valencia host Deportivo Alaves in La Liga next, while Ajax visit Ado Den Haag in the Eredivisie.
Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
