We're underway at the Red Bull Arena.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between RB Leipzig and Zenit at the Red Bull Arena.
Leipzig kicked of their campaign with an impressive win over Benfica on the road, but slumped to a 2-0 defeat last time out to Lyon on home soil. As a result, there is pressure on Julian Nagelsmann's team to respond tonight to get back to winning ways. They're currently third in Group G behind Zenit and Lyon. The German outfit are winless in their last four matches and need to break out of their slump sooner rather than later.
Zenit have made an excellent start to their Champions League campaign, taking four points from their opening two matches. They played out a 1-1 draw on the road to Lyon before easing past Benfica at home by a 3-1 scoreline. Sergei Semak wil be desperate for his team to maintain their momentum, having reeled off three victories on the bounce in all competitions. The Russian outfit crushed Rostov 6-1 in their clash at the weekend, highlighting their scoring process.
RB LEIPZIG SUBS: Marcelo Sarrachi, Amadou Haidara, Yussuf Poulsen, Christopher Nkunku, Matheus Cunha, Yvon Mgogo, Diego Demme.
ZENIT SUBS: Yordan Osorio, Daler Kuzyaev, Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Smolnikov, Robert Mak, Aleksandr Erokhin, Andrey Lunev.
RB LEIPZIG (4-2-3-1): Peter Gulacsi; Lukas Klostermann, Dayot Upamecano, Willi Orban, Nordi Mukiele; Kevin Kampl, Konrad Laimer; Marcel Sabitzer, Emil Forsberg, Ademola Lookman; Timo Werner.
Julian Nagelsmann will be concerned by his team's performance in the first half. They've looked tentative in the final third outside of Laimer's strike. Even Werner has not been at his best, snatching at a good chance to notch the equaliser. They will have to find their clinical edge to get back into the game.
Leipzig are next in action against Freiburg in the Bundesliga on the road on Saturday. Zenit are away at Krylya Sovetov in the Russian Premier League on Sunday.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
