We're underway at the Merkur Spielarena.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Bundesliga clash between Fortuna Dusseldorf and Bayern Munich at the Merkur Spielarena.
Dusseldorf played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Schalke in their last Bundesliga outing before the international break. Friedhelm Funkel's men came from behind three times to secure a point on the road. They're unbeaten in their last three matches in all competitions and will be looking to take the scalp of managerless Bayern to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
Bayern have issued the perfect response to life without Niko Kovac, winning both matches since he was sacked after their 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at the beginning of the month. They beat Olympiacos in the Champions League before crushing Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker at Allianz Arena two weeks ago. Robert Lewandowski continued his incredible form with a brace against his former club and Hans-Dieter Flick will be hopeful that the Pole continues to fire.
FORTUNA DUSSELDORF (4-2-3-1): Zack Steffen; Matthias Zimmermann, Kaan Ayhan, Kasim Adams, Niko Giesselmann; Adam Bodzek, Alfredo Morales; Erik Thommy, Oliver Fink, Dawid Kownacki; Rouwen Hennings.
FORTUNA DUSSELDORF SUBS: Andre Hoffmann, Nana Ampomah, Markus Suttner, Marcel Sobotka, Robin Bormuth, Florian Kastenmeier, Lewis Baker, Bernard Tekpetey, Jean Zimmer.
BAYERN MUNICH (4-1-4-1): Manuel Neuer; Benjamin Pavard, Javi Martinez, David Alaba, Alphonso Davies; Joshua Kimmich; Serge Gnabry, Coretin Tolisso, Thomas Muller, Philippe Coutinho; Robert Lewandowski.
BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Thiago Alcantara, Michael Cuisance, Ivan Perisic, Leon Goretzka, Sven Ulreich, Kingsley Coman, Lars Lukas Mai.
Bayern have made two changes to their side that beat Dortmund in their last outing. Coutinho comes into the side on the left flank to replace Coman, who drops to the bench. Tolisso is preferred ahead of Goretzka in the middle of the park. Jerome Boateng is suspended, while Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez remain on the sidelines.
Dusseldorf have to change their approach at the break. They've allowed Bayern space and time in the final third, it could well have been a lot more than three goals had the visitors had their shooting boots on. Should the champions up the ante it could be a long day for Friedhelm Funkel and his team.
Dusseldorf are next in action in the Bundesliga against Hoffenheim on the road next Saturday, while Bayern play in the Champions League during the week away against Red Star Belgrade.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
