We're underway at the Camp Nou.
The battle to advance from Group F remains fierce, with only four points separating Barca, Dortmund and Inter Milan. Barca are in top spot, although they've not been convincing in the Champions League this season - notably being held to a 0-0 draw against Slavia Prague last time out. A victory over Dortmund will see them through to the next phase of the competition as they will not want their future in the balance when travelling to the San Siro in the final round of fixtures. Ernesto Valverde's men have been inconsistent with their performances even outside Europe, needing a comeback to see off Leganes at the weekend. The Catalan club need to produce their best tonight.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund at the Camp Nou.
Dortmund produced an outstanding comeback to defeat Inter in their last Champions League outing. Lucien Favre's men were seemingly down and out, trailing 2-0 at half-time. However, a brace from Achraf Hakimi and a strike from Julian Brandt secured the win to keep them on course for a spot in the knockout phase. Their form since then has been poor to say the least in the Bundesliga, suffering a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Bayern before needing another brilliant effort of resilience to come from three goals down to draw with Paderborn at Signal Iduna Park. Opportunity knocks tonight as a win will see them through, but they have be stronger defensively.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, Junior Firpo; Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong; Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele.
BARCELONA SUBS: Jean-Clair Tobido, Arthur, Neto, Moussa Wague, Antoine Griezmann, Aturo Vidal, Ansu Fati.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND (4-2-3-1): Roman Burki; Lukasz Piszczek, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Nico Schulz; Julian Weigl, Axel Witsel; Achraf Hakimi, Julian Brandt, Raphael Guerreiro; Marco Reus.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND SUBS: Dan Axel-Zagadou, Jadon Sancho, Mahmoud Dahoud, Mario Gotze, Thorgan Hazard, Marcel Schmelzer, Marwin Hitz.
Lucien Favre will be frustrated with his side once again for shipping goals far too easily at the back. They've now conceded 11 goals in their last four matches, with nine of those coming in the first half of their games. He will have to turn to his bench to get back into the contest and Jadon Sancho and company will have to figure out a way to bring their side back from the brink.
Barcelona face a crunch clash at the weekend in LaLiga in their next outing, taking on Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday. Dortmund face off against Hertha Berlin on the road in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
