Emond gets the game underway for Standard!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Europa League Group F meeting between Standard Liege and Arsenal at Stade Maurice Dufrasne!
Arsenal ended a run of nine games without a win on Monday night against West Ham and top the group coming into this game. They can get through to the knockout stages with a win or a draw tonight, but if Eintracht Frankfurt lose, they could also qualify for the next round with a loss. Standard are also in with a chance of reaching the last 32, but in order to do that, they need to beat Arsenal and hope Frankfurt lose to Vitoria.
STANDARD LIEGE STARTING XI (4-5-1): Arnaud Bodart; Collins Fai, Zinho Vanheusden, Konstantinos Laifis, Nicolas Gavory; Mahdi Carcela-Gonzalez, Samuel Bastien, Selim Amallah, Gojko Cimirot, Paul-Jose M'Poku; Renaud Emond.
STANDARD LIEGE SUBS: Jean-Francois Gillet, Dimitri Lavalee, Maxime Lestienne, Duje Cop, Aleksandar Boljevic, Felipe Nicolas Avenatti Dovillabichus, Mergim Vojvoda.
ARSENAL STARTING XI (3-4-2-1): Emiliano Martinez; Sokratis, David Luiz, Konstantinos Mavropanos; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock, Matteo Guendouzi, Bukayo Saka; Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe; Alexandre Lacazette.
ARSENAL SUBS: Bernd Leno, James Olayinka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Tyreece John-Jules, Gabriel Martinelli, Calum Chambers, Zech Medley.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
As it stands, this result is enough to send Arsenal through to the knockout stages, but they won't top the group if things stay as they are as Frankfurt are winning 2-1 in the other group game. Arsenal have looked dangerous when going forward, but haven't created any real clear cut chances. Standard need a big win to still have hope of going through, but they need to improve in the final third if they want to trouble Arsenal.
A draw was enough to take Arsenal through, but it also means they qualify as group winners due to Frankfurt losing to Vitoria in the other group game. Standard did have a chance to go through with them thanks to Vitoria's win, but they couldn't find the winning goal which would have seen them through to the round of 32 for the first time since 2011-12.
