We're underway at London Stadium.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between West Ham United and Leicester City at London Stadium.
West Ham enter the contest in dire need of a victory, especially on home soil where they have failed to win in their last five matches. The Hammers sit one place and one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League. Manuel Pellegrini's men suffered a 2-1 defeat last time out against Crystal Palace - going down to Jordan Ayew's special strike late in the game. They now have a major challenge on their hands against high-flyers Leicester.
Leicester saw their hopes of competing with Liverpool for the title blunted by a special performance by the Reds on Boxing Day. Brendan Rodgers' men were crushed 4-0 at the King Power Stadium, but remained in second place after Manchester City's defeat to Wolves. The Foxes cannot allow their defeat to stymie their momentum in their quest for a Champions League. They need to get back to winning ways and have the perfect opportunity to add to Pellegrini's woes.
WEST HAM UNITED (4-2-3-1): Lukasz Fabianski; Ryan Fredericks, Fabian Balbuena, Issa Diop, Arthur Masuaku; Declan Rice, Carlos Sanchez; Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini, Felipe Anderson; Sebastien Haller.
WEST HAM UNITED SUBS: Winston Reid, Pablo Zabaleta, Robert Snodgrass, Roberto Jimenez, Mark Noble, Albian Ajeti, Michail Antonio.
LEICESTER CITY (4-2-3-1): Kasper Schmeichel; James Justin, Wes Morgan, Jonny Evans, Christian Fuchs; Hamza Choudhury, Nampalys Mendy; Marc Albrighton, Ayoze Perez, Demarai Gray; Kelechi Iheanacho.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: Ben Chilwell, Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Danny Ward, Harvey Barnes, Wilfred Ndidi.
West Ham have won just one of their last nine Premier League meetings with Leicester (D4 L4), with their 2-0 victory in May 2018 also their only clean sheet against the Foxes in this run.
There will be a moment of applause before kick-off in remembrance of West Ham and England legend Martin Peters.
Manuel Pellegrini will be pleased with the resolve that his team have shown. They've endured two setbacks - first conceding the penalty and then going behind. However, the Hammers responded to both of those and ended the first half as the stronger side. West Ham have a huge opportunity to end their poor run of form at home in the second half.
The hectic fixture list continues in the Premier League. West Ham are next in action in a crucial showdown against Bournemouth on New Year's Day at home, while Leicester travel to face Newcastle United.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
