Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of this Premier League clash between Watford and Everton!
Watford have enjoyed a fine resurgence under the guidance of Nigel Pearson since his arrival at the club, and the Vicarage Road outfit could even move out of the relegation zone if other results go their way today. The Hornets have picked up 11 points from their last six matches, but they enter this encounter having lost their last two matches in all competitions following defeats against Aston Villa and Tranmere Rovers.
Everton enter the meeting following a three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, but their last match saw them record a 2-2 draw with Newcastle where the Toffees squandered a 2-0 lead by conceding two goals in stoppage time. Carlo Ancelotti will now be seeking for a response as his side target their third win under the Italian following successes over Burnley, Newcastle and Brighton, while they could realistically climb as high as ninth with victory today.
WATFORD (4-2-3-1): Ben Foster; Adrian Mariappa, Christian Kabasele, Craig Cathcart, Adam Masina; Nathaniel Chabolah, Etienne Capoue; Roberto Pereyra, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Gerard Deulofeu; Troy Deeney.
SUBS: Bernard, Morgan Schneiderlin, Seamus Colemam, Michael Keane, Moise Kean, Maarten Stekelenburg, Leighton Baines.
EVERTON (4-4-2): Jordan Pickford; Djibril Sidibe, Yerry Mina, Mason Holgate, Lucas Digne; Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Fabian Delph, Alex Iwobi; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
SUBS: Jose Holebas, Will Hughes, Andre Gray, Danny Welbeck, Ignacio Pussetto, Isaac Success, Heurelho Gomes.
The players are now emerging from the tunnel as kick-off edges closer at Vicarage Road.
Everton have produced an excellent comeback to find a way back into this game despite looking like they would be heading into the break with a two-goal deficit to overturn. However, the Merseyside outfit will now enter the second period with a string in their step despite the fact Ancelotti will be demanding a much-improved display from his side after the interval. Watford would have been very pleased with their first-half showing before stoppage time, and this means Pearson will most likely be furious with his side for conceding two goals that he will view as sloppy.
The players are now back on the pitch ahead of the second period.
Watford will now be looking to end a run of three straight defeats when they travel to face Brighton and Hove Albion next weekend, while Everton will enter their next Premier League clash against Crystal Palace with a spring in their step.
That's all for now. Thank you for following live coverage of this Premier League clash!
