We're underway at Goodison Park.
Everton host the 236th Merseyside derby and will be aiming to delay Liverpool's coronation as Premier League champions even further this evening. Carlo Ancelotti's men are sitting in 13th place and off the pace for a Europa League place. The Toffees had failed to win their last three matches before the season was halted, including a 4-0 hammering against Chelsea. They will need their best to thwart the Reds and to get back to winning ways.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park.
Liverpool have had to wait three months to close in on the Premier League crown. Jurgen Klopp and his team will be grateful for the opportunity to see out the title, although they're still two wins away from getting over the line. Their form had been patchy before the season was halted, losing in extra-time to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League along with suffering defeats to Chelsea in the FA Cup and Watford in the league. However, the Reds will be rested and determined to take one step closer to the crown.
EVERTON (4-4-2): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Lucas Digne; Anthony Gordon, Andre Gomes, Tom Davies, Alex Iwobi; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Georginio Wijnaldum, Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah, Joe Gomez, Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, James Milner; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita; Takumi Minamino, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
Jurgen Klopp will not be too pleased with his side's performance in the first half. They were a tad tentative in the final third and lacking a cutting edge. He has Mohamed Salah at his disposal on the bench and it might not be too long before we see the forward in action. Carlo Ancelotti will be satisifed, although will be urging the Toffees to be a bit more adventurous in their approach in the second period.
Everton are on the road next week in their clash against Norwich City at Carrow Road. Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
