Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Champions League Group E meeting between Krasnodar and Sevilla.
The home side sit third in the group having picked up one point from their first three matches. They faced Sevilla last time out in the competition and nearly produced an upset, taking a two-goal lead before the Europa League champions fought back to prevail 3-2. A disappointing domestic campaign has them languishing down in ninth but Musad Musayev will be hoping his team can build on their 1-0 league win over Tambov three days ago.
Sevilla are looking to record their fourth straight victory in all competitions and will secure a place in the knockout round if they do so. They trail Chelsea on goal difference having picked up seven points from a possible nine and beat Celta Vigo 4-2 in their last outing.
KRASNODAR (4-2-3-1): Evgeni Gorodov; Igor Smolnikov, Aleksandr Martynovich, Kaio, Cristian Ramirez; Kristoffer Olsson, Yuri Gazinskiy; Shapi Suleymanov, Viktor Claesson, Remy Cabella; Marcus Berg.
SEVILLA (4-3-3): Tomas Vaclik; Jules Kounde, Sergio Escudero, Diego Carlos, Nemanja Gudelj; Oscar Rodriguez, Fernando, Ivan Rakitic; Lucas Ocampos, Luuk de Jong, Munir El Haddadi.
SEVILLA SUBS: Juanlu Sanchez, Oussama Idrissi, Youssef En-Nesyri, Carlos Alvarez, Alfonso Pastor, Sergi Gomez, Joan Jordan, Adrian Gonzalez, Oliver Torres, Franco Vazquez, Antonio Zarzana, Karim Rekik.
The players are emerging out of the tunnel. Kick-off is moments away.
Both sides created a couple of chances as the half wore on with the best falling to Carlos. Oscar's free-kick was an inviting one but the defender couldn't steer his header on target. The Europa League champions had control of the game for the majority of the first period and will be keen to extend their advantage and avoid any potential mishaps. For the hosts, as long as they can keep the deficit to one, they'll think they've got a chance.
The result means Sevilla are through after Chelsea won in the other fixture, and Krasnodar hold station in third, albeit now a point ahead of Rennes. Next up for Krasnodar is an away league fixture against 12th-placed Khimki which they will be desperate to win having already fallen 11 points behind CSKA Moscow in top spot. They then welcome Rennes in an equally important Champions League tie as they turn their attention to a Europa League spot. Sevilla are back in La Liga action on Saturday with a trip to second-from-bottom Huesca before welcoming Chelsea next week for a top-of-the-group clash.
That was a thriller. I hope you enjoyed following our live text commentary. Until next time, goodbye!
