We're under way at the Amex Stadium.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Brighton and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium.
Although Brighton are safe there is still reason for Graham Potter and his men to push up the Premier League table. They are one point behind Newcastle United and Burnley in 16th and 15th place respectively, and there is an opportunity to finish above both teams. The Seagulls have won only one of their last six games, and were held to a 1-1 draw last time out against West Ham. However, they will need a flawless performance tonight against the champions.
City played out a thriller against Newcastle United last time out after being crowned champions last week. Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick to overcome the Magpies on the road, while Joao Cancelo also found the back of the net. Pep Guardiola rotated his team against Newcastle, but he will be keen for them to retain their form ahead of their Champions League showdown against Chelsea in 10 days time. City need to remain sharp across the pitch.
BRIGHTON (3-4-3): Robert Sanchez; Ben White, Aaron Webster, Dan Burn; Steven Alzate, Pascal Gross, Yves Bissouma, Jakub Moder; Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Alexis Mac Allister, Danny Welbeck.
BRIGHTON SUBS: Michal Karbownik, Aaron Connolly, Leandro Trossard, Adam Lallana, Percy Tau, Jason Steele, Moses Caicedo, Andi Zeqiri, Christian Walton.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan; Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres, Phil Foden.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus, Zack Steffen, Aymeric Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne, Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho, Eric Garcia. Cole Palmer.
Graham Potter will be disappointed that his side were unable to put City under pressure. The loss of Welbeck to injury compounded their woes in the final third having already been without the suspended Neal Maupay. The Seagulls are going to have to conjure something special to get back into the contest.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Brighton finish their Premier League campaign on the road to Arsenal on Sunday. City will be presented with the Premier League trophy on Sunday in their home match against Everton.
