We're under way at the Etihad Stadium.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League final day clash between Manchester City and Everton at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City have enjoyed a dominant run to their third Premier League title in four seasons. However, Pep Guardiola and his team will want to end their campaign with a flourish and build momentum for the Champions League final next week. City have lost two out of their last three matches, suffering defeats to Chelsea and Brighton. They will not want another loss on their record, ensuring that they end the season on a high note.
Everton bounced back from a disappointing loss at the hands of Sheffield United by beating Wolves in their last outing. If results land in their favour this afternoon they can finish in seventh place, and potentially as high as sixth if there is an eight-goal swing with West Ham United. However, Carlo Ancelotti and his team will be focused on putting in a positive performance against the champions to end their term with momentum to take into next season.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Phil Foden; Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Aguero, Zack Steffen, Aymeric Laporte, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Ferran Torres, Benjamin Mendy.
EVERTON (4-3-3): Jordan Pickford; Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey, Lucas Digne; Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan, Tom Davies; Gylfi Sigurdsson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
EVERTON SUBS: Alex Iwobi, Niels Nkounkou, Bernard, Andre Gomes, Seamus Coleman, Joao Virginia, Robin Olsen, Kyle John.
Everton were lacklustre in the final third in the first half. Sigurdsson should have taken his opportunity from the spot, while Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were also wasteful. The Toffees have the players, but they need to find their clinical edge.
City now have five days to prepare for the Champions League final against Chelsea as the club seek to win their first European crown. Everton end their term on the lowest of notes.
Thanks for joining our commentary. Until next time, goodbye.
