Pickford is alert enough to beat Petkovic to a speculative Croatia cross from the right. The England keeper has had little to do but hasn't put a foot wrong when he has been called upon.
90' +2
D. Calvert-Lewin enters the game and replaces R. Sterling.
Sterling goes off after a great display for England. That'll show all the doubters. Calvert-Lewin will go up front for these final minutes.
90' +1
Trippier lumps the ball down the line for Sterling. Sterling's offside so leaves it to go out for a Croatia goal-kick. That'll be Sterling's last act of the game.
90'
There'll be a minimum of four minutes of added time. Perisic gets in behind Walker but there's no one in Croatia black in the middle. Pickford secures the ball.

The 17-year-old midfielder Bellingham trots on for England. Kane is the player to make way. The hosts are bulking up their midfield.
81'
A Croatia pass for Perisic goes harmlessly out for a throw-in. Bellingham is about to come on for England.
80'
England are doing a great job of holding Croatia at arm's length. Kane chases Vida down and nearly reaches Vida's backpass to Livakovic.
78'
B. Petković enters the game and replaces A. Rebić.
Croatia make another substitution. The Dinamo Zagreb forward Petkovic replaces Rebic.
Croatia circle England's box while England wait for the eventual delivery. Rebic wriggles free down the right and Rice positions himself well to stop the cross.
76'
Stones sits down in the centre circle. It looks like a minor case of cramp. The England defender eventually leaves the pitch and soon ventures back on with the referee's consent.
74'
Kane wins a free-kick as he goes up against Caleta-Car. Mings nods the free-kick down for Sterling who fires over from the centre of the box.
72'
Croatia are threatening but not really testing Pickford as Rebic leaps high to reach Vrsaljko's cross. Walker keeps his cool to hold off Perisic and allow it to bounce through to the England keeper.
71'
M. Rashford enters the game and replaces P. Foden.
Foden is the England player to make way for Rashford. No doubt Foden has plenty more game time to come at Euro 2020. Rashford gets a positive reception from the crowd.
70'
J. Brekalo enters the game and replaces A. Kramarić.
N. Vlašić enters the game and replaces M. Brozović.
Croatia make the game's first substitution. The CSKA Moscow midfielder Vlasic replaces Brozovic.

68'
England are preparing Rashford to come on. Croatia will have his pace to deal with shortly.
66'
M. Brozović gets yellow.
Mount ghosts past Brozovic, forcing Brozovic to drag him down. Brozovic is deservedly booked.
64'
P. Foden gets yellow.
Foden picks up a yellow card for a high foot on Gvardiol.
62'
There's brief concern for Kane after he collided with the post at the end of that chance. Thankfully the England captain is soon up on his feet and good to go.
57'
R. Sterling has scored a goal for England! Assist by K. Phillips.
GOAL! ENGLAND 1-0 CROATIA! Phillips gets past two men to spot Sterling's run through the middle with Croatia's defence parting. Sterling shoots first-time from the centre of the box, smashing the ball past Livakovic.
Phillips' contribution was vital to that goal, not only his forward thrust but his composure to find Sterling. The Leeds man looks totally at home in an England shirt.
56'
Grealish is one of a few England substitutes who have started warming up. No doubt there are more than a few England fans who'll be glad to see him come on.
55'
Modric unleashes a rasping effort towards goal from outside the box. It's tame in the end as Pickford cushions it safely.
53'
Kane shows good strength and tries to feed Sterling but Croatia make the block. Kane has been quiet by his standards, more often dropping deep to receive the ball than trying to get on the end of attacks himself.
52'
Croatia have started this second half the stronger. Vrsaljko loses out in England's half and England come forward on the counter. Foden can't beat Gvardiol though and elects to keep possession.

48'
M. Kovačić gets yellow.
Kovacic is booked for a crunching tackle on his Chelsea teammate Mount near the centre circle. The referee takes no time at all in brandishing the yellow card.
47'
Perisic strays offside as Caleta-Car looks to send him racing down the left.
46'
Pickford gets involved right at the start of the half, claiming a simple cross. The England goalkeeper hasn't had a huge amount to do yet.
45'
HALF-TIME: ENGLAND 0-0 CROATIA
Croatia get the game going again. Both bosses resist making changes for now.
44'
Perisic's loose touch in the box allows Mings to extend a leg and nick it away from the winger. Mings wins a free-kick to boot. The Aston Villa man has had a solid first half.
43'
Trippier and Mount debate who will take the free-kick. Trippier, who famously scored for England in their last meeting with Croatia, wins the argument and swings the free-kick into Croatia's defensive wall. Croatia breathe a sigh of relief.
42'
D. Ćaleta-Car gets yellow.
Caleta-Car picks up the game's first yellow card for handling the ball just to the left of the D. Sterling had got in behind to put the Croatia defender into an uncomfortable position.
40'
Walker carries the ball towards Croatia's corner flag and is held up by Perisic. Walker gets his cross away but it goes out for a Croatia goal-kick.
39'
Trippier spots the run of Phillips who's darted in behind Croatia's defence. Phillips mistimes it slightly and strays offside but it was the right move to make. Rebic is also offside from Livakovic's throughball.
38'
England are playing patiently, preserving their energy for the right moments. Croatia are content sitting deep for now.
36'
Sterling jinks inside to find Foden who spirals to the ground on the edge of the penalty area from a Croatia challenge. Play continues.
34'
Pickford waves his team upfield and booms a direct pass forward. Croatia collect it and England pin them back, eventually forcing a turnover in possession.
32'
The pace of the game has understandably slowed for now with the players having to deal with the energy-sapping heat in London at the moment. Croatia have stabilised after their slightly shaky start.
30'
Kovacic breaks through the middle to get Croatia upfield. Kovacic pulls the ball back from the byline and Rice hooks it away to prevent it from reaching Rebic.
28'
Vrsaljko beats Trippier to fire another dangerous ball towards England's box. This time Gvardiol can't master it. Croatia seem to be targetting Trippier, who's playing out of position at left-back.
27'
Croatia are settling into this game. Mings pulls out of a challenge for Vrsaljko's cross and it makes its way through to Perisic in the box. Thankfully for England, the Inter winger leans back and blazes his shot over.
26'
Sterling snatches at the chance to shoot just outside Croatia's box. It swerves high and wide.
25'
Gvardiol takes aim for the penalty area from Croatia's left but gets his cross all wrong. The crowd cheer as it bounces harmlessly out of play for an England goal-kick.
24'
Vrsaljko swings a cross in from deep and Mings meets it well with his head to hand Croatia a throw-in.
23'
Croatia's right-back Vrsaljko bursts down his flank but trips over himself and loses possession. Croatia think it should be a foul against Trippier but the referee doesn't agree.
20'
Sterling latches onto Mount's dink into the box and it briefly looks like he's in on goal. Croatia's defenders recover though and there's not enough on Sterling's chip to find Kane or Foden.
18'
Phillips slides in on Kovacic to prevent the Chelsea midfielder from getting away from him, giving away a foul. The Leeds man has been a physical presence in England's midfield in these opening stages.
17'
Kane, the sixth player to captain England at both the Euros and a World Cup, gets on the end of Trippier's chipped free-kick to nod towards goal. The England striker was just offside when Trippier played the ball though.
16'
Sterling finds Mount's run. Mount holds the ball up near England's left corner-flag and flings a cross into the box that Croatia head away. England get a free-kick as Phillips is tripped by Kovacic shortly after muscling Brozovic over.
15'
England are playing what looks more like a 4-3-3 than a 4-2-3-1 with Phillips venturing high up the pitch and Rice dropping deep to help his centre-backs out. The line-up looks surprisingly well-balanced so far.
13'
Croatia get their first real spell on the ball. England haven't allowed the visitors to breathe yet. Stones wins his aerial duel with Rebic and England are back on the attack.
11'
Foden checks onto his left foot again and this time lays off to Mount. England end up losing the ball but show brilliant pressure to earn a throw-in. The hosts look highly motivated.
10'
Phillips floats a pass out wide to Walker who's unable to get the ball under proper control. The partisan home crowd groan in disappointment.
7'
Croatia break upfield and Rebic shoots from distance, forcing Pickford to make a routine save. This game has started with a welcome openness.

The Italian referee Daniele Orsato blows his whistle and we're underway here at a very warm Wembley!
Hello! Welcome to our live text commentary of this UEFA Euro 2020 Group D clash between England and Croatia at Wembley Stadium, London.
Three years on from meeting in the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, England and Croatia meet again. England play hosts on their 10th European Championship appearance, with no side playing more games in this tournament without making the final. Gareth Southgate and his young Three Lions will be dreaming that this will finally be England's year.
Croatia were victorious in that World Cup semi-final match, of course, and many of their latest golden generation remain as they take part in their fifth European Championship in a row. The Central Europeans have lost to the eventual winner in three of their last four major tournaments. It'll take a team of similar calibre to dispatch them again.

The 22,500 fans at Wembley welcome the players out onto the pitch who stand for their respective national anthems. England will play in all-white, Croatia in all-black. England's players take the knee to protest racism. The reception, like last time, is mixed.
England prepare to face Scotland here next Friday, then, shortly after Croatia face the Czechs in Glasgow. On this showing Southgate's men have nothing to fear in Group D. That's all for now. Goodbye!
