Rangers are playing in the Europa League after a 4-2 defeat against Malmo in the Champions League at the start of August, before they beat Alashkert 1-0 in the Europa League play-offs. Steven Gerrard’s side are currently top of the Scottish Premiership and they come into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone at the weekend.
Lyon finished fourth in the Ligue 1 table, securing Europa League football, after missing out on any European competitions last campaign. They are currently seventh in the table and are unbeaten in their last three games, winning two and draw one.
