Hello and welcome back to the live commentary of the LaLiga fixture between Osasuna and Real Madrid.
Despite reaching the Copa del Rey semi-finals last month, Osasuna’s league form has taken a hit as they are winless in their last four LaLiga matches. They are struggling to find the right balance between attack and defence, having the fourth-best defensive record in the league while scoring the least amount of goals in the top half of the table. Due to the close nature of the league, a win for Jagoba Arrasate's side could see them move up to seventh in the table.
Real Madrid continue their chase of Barcelona as they will be desperate to close the gap to five points at the top of the league. They breezed past Elche during the week with a 4-0 win, but injuries to Karim Benzema and Aurelien Tchouameni may cause a setback today. Carlo Ancelotti’s team have scored the most goals in the league this season so if anyone will be able to break the Osasuna defence down, it’ll be them.
Osasuna (4-3-3): Sergio Herrera; Jon Moncayola, Unai Garcia, David Garcia, Manu Sanchez; Darko Brasanac, Lucas Torro, Moi Gomez; Ruben Garcia, Ante Budimir, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli.
SUBS: Aitor Fernandez, Kike Barja, Kike Garcia, Pablo Ibanez, Aimar Oroz, Aridane Hernandez, Iker Munoz, Diego Moreno.
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois; Nacho Fernandez, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, David Alaba; Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos; Federico Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior.
SUBS: Andriy Lunin, Luis Lopez, Daniel Carvajal, Jesus Vallejo, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Alvaro Odriozola, Lucas Vazquez, Mario Martin, Alvaro Rodriguez.
The players are making their way out of the tunnel and onto the pitch!
Both managers will be trying to tell their sides how to unlock the other in the final third. Ancelotti will certainly be talking to Rodrygo, who has been non-existent so in this game. He has had the lowest amount of touches in the game (12), a big difference from what Benzema usually has.
That's all for today, goodbye!
Osasuna remain in 10th place following the loss while Real move five points behind Barcelona, who have a game in hand. Los Rojillos travel to Sevilla for their next league game while Real face Liverpool in the Champions League before the Madrid Derby next weekend.
