Colucci attempts to trick Castellazzi with a sneaky free kick which was creeping into the bottom corner, but the Inter stopper gets across well to make the save.
90' +1
And we're due to have three minutes of stoppage time here.
Quintero goes down under a shove from Alfred Duncan, but the referee decides to keep his cards in his pocket and be lenient to the young Ghanaian.
89'
Quintero takes a shot from an acute angle, but his effort flies over. He's been lively since coming off the bench, though. Could be a useful player for Pescara this season.
87'
What a shot!! Inter combine well once more and Livaja lets fly with a crisp effort which looks to be flying into the corner, but Perin gets across to make a great save.
86'
A. Duncan enters the game and replaces W. Gargano.
And now Gargano's Inter debut has come to an end, with Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan replacing him in midfield.
85'
Guarin decides to have a crack from about 35 yards, and true t the day he's been having, the ball flies well wide.
84'
M. Livaja enters the game and replaces D. Milito.
And Milito has been withdrawn by Stramaccioni, with Livaja taking his place. The veteran forward has had a great game, scoring once and creating two other goals, despite receiving strict attention from the hosts' defence.
82'
Quintero takes a dig from about 30 yards as he looks to reduce the deficit and restore some pride, but Castellazzi dives down to his right to parry the ball away. He hasn't put a foot wrong today, all things told.
81'
Philippe Coutinho has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by D. Milito.
GOAL!!! Inter truly have this one in the bag now. Milito makes great ground down the right and pulls the ball back across the face of goal, and Coutinho is there to sweep home a third.
80'
An awful back-pass from Ranocchia forces Castellazzi into action, and the Inter keeper happily concedes a throw in to clear up his team-mate's mistake.
Minute
Description
79'
Cascione lets fly from about 35 yards, but his effort doesn't have the accuracy to match its ferocity and it goes well wide. That doesn't stop Castellazzi from scampering across his line, though.
78'
Finally Castellazzi has something to do as Quintero pads a clever through ball into the box, forcing the stand-in keeper to scurry off his line and claim it.
76'
What a miss! This time Coutinho manages to pick out Milito with a cunning through ball, and although the Argentine has all the time in the world to finish the chance with ease, he dinks an effort high and wide.
75'
E. Abbruscato enters the game and replaces Jonathas.
74'
Pescara swing in yet another corner, but once again Inter clear it with ease. They've had numerous set pieces with which they could have threatened the Nerazzurri, but have failed each time.
73'
Coutinho strides forward through the Pescara half and attempts to feed Milito, but can't quite manage to thread the ball through.
70'
So into the final 20 minutes we go, and it seems that the fairytale comeback for Pescara simply isn't on the cards. They've threatened Inter in little stretches, but Castellazzi has had nothing to do this half.
68'
Philippe Coutinho enters the game and replaces A. Cassano.
And now Cassano has been withdrawn. Philippe Coutinho comes on for the former Real Madrid man, who can be proud of his Inter debut.
67'
Cassano does well to keep the ball in play on the byeline, and picks out Sneijder, who can't quite manage to get the ball under control and Pescara scramble it away.
65'
M. Çelik enters the game and replaces G. Caprari.
Caprari, who was one of Pescara's stronger players in the first half, has been withdraw, with Mervan Celik replacing him.
64'
Sneijder swings in a corner from the left wing, but Perin is quick off his life to claim the ball in the air. More good goalkeeping from the Pescara shot-stopper.
63'
Pescara link up well in the Inter half with Quintero at the heart of matters, but the Nerazzurri defence stands as firm as ever, and aren't particularly troubled.
61'
J. Quintero enters the game and replaces M. Lund Nielsen.
Brilliant again! Cassano plays a one-two with Cambiasso, but can't quite get the Argentine's return pass under control. Had he done so, he surely would have been certain to notch his debut goal.
59'
Amazing goalkeeping! Milito plays a perfectly-weighted ball into Guarin's path, but Perin comes off his line and claims the ball at the Colombian's feet. He saved a certain goal, there!
57'
CAMBIASSO! Sneijder's first corner comes back to him on the wing, and the Dutchman delivers a mouth-watering cross which Cambiasso meets at the front post, but can only head over. Great play.
56'
Guarin is picked out inside the box, but despite twisting and turning, he cannot get away from Balzano, who is happy to concede a corner.
55'
At the other end, Zanon receives the ball in the right-wing channel and attempts to play the ball into the centre, but it's a poor delivery and it drifts out of play.
53'
Guarin receives the ball 25 yards from goal, but rather than picking out a team-mate, he simply passes the ball out of play. Disappointing really, again.
52'
Philippe Coutinho has been warming up for the visitors. We'll probably see him replace Cassano, who admitted that he wasn't fully fit, in time.
50'
Sneijder, who has quite simply been fantastic today receives the ball from Milito and attempts to feed the Argentine, but once again the striker is closed out. Such intelligent link-up play between the duo though...
49'
Jonathas is livid at the officials as he is tightly marked in the box by Ranocchia. He thinks he should have a corner, but it's a goal kick..
48'
Inter have been in solid possession for all of the second period thus far. Could Strama's men elect to sit back and hold on to what they have for the rest of the game?
46'
And we're back! Pescara get the second half started - they have 45 minutes to stop their Serie A comeback from ending in defeat...
45' +1
Nagatomo gets across brilliantly to cut out a threatening ball down the Pescara wing.
45'
It's all got a bit scrappy now as Inter get bodies back to fend away some Pescara pressure, but neither side seem to be capable of keeping the ball.
43'
GREAT SAVE!!! Castelllazzi may well have ensured Inter's two-goal advantage remains at the interval by making a fantastic stop to push out Casione's header. Brilliant, acrobatic stop from the stand-in keeper.
41'
Sneijder links up brilliantly with Milito, gets the ball back from the Argentine and picks out Cassano on the right. The former AC Milan man then tries to complete move by finding Milito, but Colucci gets in the way and makes a vital interception.
40'
So, we're edging towards half time and Inter can be very happy with their day's work so far. Are things all over for Pescara on their return to Serie A, or can they upset the odds and come from behind? An interesting hour or so in certainly in store!
38'
Sneijder tries to be sneaky with the resulting free kick, padding it into Guarin's path on the edge of the area, but the Colombian's strike is mishit, but almost falls kindly to Milito.
37'
Great run! Nagatomo charges down the left and is felled by Zanon as he looks to break into the area. The defender picks up a booking for his troubles...
36'
D. Zanon gets yellow.
A fortuitous deflection off the referee gifts Caprari the ball in the middle of the Inter half, but his chipped through ball into the danger zone isn't in danger of finding an attacker, and Inter regain possession.
34'
Cassano wins the ball in midfield despite the challenge of two Pescara defenders, but is called back for a foul. And in typical Cassano fashion, tells the referee exactly what he thinks of the decision.
33'
G. Colucci gets yellow.
32'
Caprari brilliantly times his run to beat the offside trap and latch onto a good through ball, but drags a shot wide of Castellazzi's goal from the right-hand side of the box. Almost what was needed...
30'
Guarin concedes a free kick down the Pescara left wing after a tussle with Weiss. That one's turning into an interesting personal battle.
29'
Once again, Guarin gives the ball away sloppily and rockets into the Inter half, and it takes some typically smart defending from Zanetti to dispossess him.
27'
Nagatomo, not for the first time, gets forward well down the left, and although his first touch is fantastic, he can only concede a goal kick.
26'
Guarin has looked shaky on the ball on more than one occasion today, and has found himself closed down far too easily and has conceded possession at least two or three times.
24'
More promising play from Pescara as a ball is launched into the Inter box which Jonathas meets, but his header trickles wide. They've shown that they're more than capable of creating chances.
23'
Balzano is unmarked on the far corner of the Inter box, but as the cross comes into him, Silvestre gets across and makes a vital intervention to save his team.
21'
Well, well. After an even start to this encounter, with Pescara even showing signs of threatening Inter, the Nerazzurri move into a commanding 2-0 lead with a quickfire double. Stramaccioni's men are a off and running for the season, but how will the newly-promoted hosts respond?
19'
D. Milito has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Cassano.
GOAL!!! And just like that, it's 2-0!! Cassano springs the offside trap on the left-hand side of the box, and rather than shooting, he plays the ball across the face of goal for Diego Milito to finish with ease. Great move again!
17'
W. Sneijder has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by D. Milito.
GOAL!!! Inter take the lead! Zanetti plays a cute ball into Milito's path, and the Argentine superbly drags the ball across the face of goal for Sneijder, who is there at the far post to tap the ball home. Great goal!
16'
Inter's turn to attack now as Nagatomo makes good ground down the left and crosses to Milito, who again has the ball taken off his feet by an alert defender.
15'
GREAT SAVE!! Castellazzi makes an acrobatic leap to tip away Caprari's effort from the resulting free kick. Pescara's third corner of the game already...
14'
W. Gargano gets yellow.
We've had a feisty start here! Gargano marks his Inter debut with the match's second yellow card as he brings down an onrushing opponent.
12'
V. Weiss gets yellow.
Controversy here. Weiss runs at Zanetti and goes down in the box. It looks for a moment as though Inter have conceded a penalty, but the referee aims a yellow card at the Slovakian for diving. He may well have had a case in retrospect...
11'
Sneijder swings a boot at a loose ball just outside the box, but the Dutchman's weak shot is straight at Perin. Poor effort, really.
10'
After Pescara's bright start, Inter seem to be permanently encamped outside the hosts' box. Milito once again finds himself under close scrutiny on the edge of the area and is forced to concede possession.
9'
More resolute defending from Pescara here as Milito tries to force his way into the box.
8'
Guarin finds the ball at his feet in the middle of the Pescara half, and although he has a host of team-mates to pass to, he dithers on the ball and is forced to pass it backwards.
6'
Antonio Cassano wins a throw in on the right wing as he failed to dribble past two defenders.
Inter pour men forward in numbers, but as Cambiasso tries to feed Nagatomo, a defender makes the interception and the hosts break, but the counter fizzles out. A lively start from both teams!
4'
Caprari does brilliantly down the left and gets to the byeline, forcing Castellazzi to come off his line and concede another corner. Flying start from the minnows.
3'
Cascione takes the free kick, and although it goes straight into the wall, the ball falls kindly for Jonathas, who wins a corner with a deflected shot.
2'
Cassano gets his first taste of the ball in Inter colours, and goes on a promising run, only to give the ball away sloppily. Pescara go on the counter.
Pescara win a free kick right on the edge on the edge of the box when Guarin trips Weiss. Could be a nervous moment here for Inter.
1'
And we're off!! Inter get the game started, but soon give the ball away, leaving Nagatomo to tidy up.
Good evening! Serie A made its return last night, but we've had to wait until the last fixtures of the weekend to see Inter get their campaign started. Andrea Stamaccioni's men face last season's Serie B champions Pescara as Stadio Adriatico and it promises to be an interesting fixture to say the least!
The Nerazzurri have bought a host of new players this summer as they look to build on Stamaccioni's promising start to life in charge of the club, and several of them feature here today.
So. What's going to happen here. Will Inter get their Serie A campaign off to a winning start? Could Pescara pull off a shock result? Don't hesitate to send in your predictions for this game and the Serie A season as a whole via Twitter (@Goal_intl). We look forward to hearing from you...
And that's half time. It's been an even contest all in all, but Inter hold a commanding advantage going into the break thanks to two quickfire goals from Wesley Sneijder and Diego Milito. Can the newly-promoted Pescara side fight back? Stay tuned for all the action in the second half.
We've had a wealth of predictions for this one so far. Unsurprisingly, Inter are being heavily backed, and Cassano is one name touted as potential goalscorer. It would be fitting, would it not?
And that's full time. Inter get their Serie A campaign started with a win, and they cruised to it thanks to three goals from Sneijder, Milito and Coutinho. Stramaccioni's men are off and running, and look as though they could be Scudetto contenders.
That's all from me, folks. Stay tuned to Goal.com for all the reaction to this encounter, and for all the action around Europe. Good night!
