Lewandowski chases down Chygrynskiy in the area and manages to keep the ball in play on the byeline. However, his momentum sees him continue off the pitch and enables the centre-back to pass the ball to safety.
90' +1
J. Schieber enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
We are into the first of an additional three minutes of added time.
88'
Two Shakhtar players got sucked towards the ball at the corner and Rakitskiy was left with about three men to mark. It proved to be the wrong ones that he followed and now BVB are going to press for a winner!
87'
M. Hummels has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Schmelzer.
GOOOOAAALL!! EQUALISER FOR BVB! Hummels atones for his earlier error with a brilliant header from Schmelzer's corner. Shakhtar pay the penalty for trying to sit back in the final moments, but someone should have been marking him.
86'
Good combination between Gotze and Piszcek works the space for a cutback but Rakitskiy rushes across to block the ball from entering the area. The corner is sent in and Shakhtar can only clear it behind for another.
84'
Eduardo da Silva enters the game and replaces Alex Teixeira.
Shakhtar appear to be sitting back now and trying to close out the game with a one-goal advantage. They are not shy of breaking at pace, though, so you get the feeling there could still be another goal either way in this one.
82'
Good play from Gotze as he refuses to give up on the ball as Rat attempts to shepherd it out of play for a goal kick. The youngster gets a foot on it and wins a corner but BVB once again fail to worry Pyatov.
80'
M. Leitner enters the game and replaces J. Błaszczykowski.
79'
BVB are just over 10 minutes away from their first ever defeat to a Ukrainian side. However, even if this game ends in defeat they have a valuable away goal and can provide a similarly, if not more, intimidating atmosphere at the Signal Iduna Park for the second leg.

Description
76'
Someone should have been there! Mkhitaryan shows tremendous pace to surge away from Hummels on the left and he still has the concentration to put the ball in space at the back post. Unfortunately none of his team-mates read his intentions and the chance goes begging.
75'
Kehl makes a rare venture forward and receives the ball from Lewandowski in the area. He tries to get a shot away but his effort is blocked by a wall of orange.
73'
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!! Another poor clearance from the Shakhtar defence gives Piszczek a second chance to put the ball in the area and this time he finds Lewandowski. The striker connects sweetly with the volley but is unable to direct it inside the near post and it flies agonisingly wide.
71'
I mentioned that Hummels' defensive errors proved costly against Hamburg at the weekend and there is no doubt he was at fault for that goal. He failed to get his head on the lofted pass and Douglas Costa took full advantage.
69'
Fernandinho gets yellow.
68'
Douglas Costa has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk! Assist by Y. Rakitskyi.
WHAT A GOAL!! That came out of absolutely nothing! Douglas Costa proves to be an inspired substitution as he plucks Rakitskiy's long ball from deep out of the sky. With his second touch he drives a volley past Weidenfeller and into the bottom corner at the near post.
67'
Dortmund win a corner and Schmelzer flights it towards the back post. Hummels rises and nods the ball back across goal but there is no one gambling to get on the end of it.
64'
Shakhtar break quickly through Douglas Costa after he wriggles between a couple of Dortmund defenders. The move ends with Fernandinho sliding a pass to Rat out on the left but the full-back's cross fails to beat the first defender.
62'
Douglas Costa enters the game and replaces Taison.
That is a bit of a strange one as Taison is replaced by Douglas Costa. The former Metalist man had been his team's most dangerous player up until now!
61'
I have already mentioned Dortmund's impressive wins against Karpaty Lviv and Shakhtar, but in actual fact they have never lost against Ukrainian opposition in six encounters. Five of those fixtures ended in victory for BVB.
58'
Some good pressing from the hosts sees BVB panic at the back. Santana tries to get rid of the ball before Luiz Adriano closes him and ends up giving it back to an orange shirt.
56'
Surely that was a free kick? Shakhtar get a chance to break and once more Luiz Adriano gives Hummels the slip on the half way line. The ball is gone as the German brings the striker down but Howard Webb is unimpressed and lets play continue.
54'
It would have had to have been special to go in from there! Lewandowski controls Piszczek's angled pass into the area with his chest but it takes him away from goal. He goes for the acrobatic effort to get his shot away but it bounces comfortably into Pyatov's arms.
52'
GOOD BLOCK FROM SANTANA!! Luiz Adriano fools Hummels and spins away from the centre-back wide on the right. He cuts a low pass back to Mkhitaryan on the penalty spot but the Brazilian defender is in the right place at the right time and gets his body in the way.
50'
The last time that BVB played in Ukraine they came from behind to win 4-3 against Karpaty Lviv in the 2010 Europa League group stage. Will they be able to pull off a similar feat tonight and secure a valuable first-leg lead?
47'
Piszczek makes a rare venture forward in possession and plays a neat one-two with Gotze on the edge of the area. He pulls the ball back to Reus in the centre of the box but the German cannot get it out of his feet quick enough and his shot is blocked.
46'
Welcome back! We are back under way at the Donbass Arena.
45' +1
The half-time whistle goes!
45'
HOW HAS THAT STAYED OUT!! Another excellent run from Taison sees him surge into the area and send a cross-cum-shot to the back post. Weidenfeller gets a hand on it but lets it run loose to Alex Teixeira at the back post. He tries to scoop a shot in from a narrow angle but Schmelzer keeps the goal-bound effort out with his chest!
43'
Dortmund certainly deserve to be back in this after some superb attacking football. That could well prove to be a valuable away goal come the second leg.
41'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Götze.
GOOOAAALL!! BVB DRAW LEVEL! Gotze manages to pick out Lewandowski this time with a cross from the right. The Pole brings it down but completely mishits it. However, it commits two defenders and sees the striker get back on the ball with plenty of time and he passes it into the bottom corner.
40'
After an exciting start Gotze has let the quality of his passing slip a bit. His last few attempts to put Lewandowski in behind have been well overhit and the opposing defence will welcome that all night long.
39'
Another chance for the ever-lively Kuba as he picks up the ball 20 yards from goal and shifts it onto his right foot. Not for the first time his effort is dragged across the face of goal, leaving Pyatov untested.
38'
Schmelzer bends it in but again it only goes as far as the near post and it is headed away by an orange shirt.
37'
Chygrynskiy gives away a cheap free kick wide on the right with Gotze going nowhere. Can BVB make anything of this?
35'
Kuba is not closed on the edge of the box and is able to send a volley at Pyatov's goal from the top of the box. He tries to find the corner but sends it too close to the keeper.
34'
Rakitskiy plays an awful pass and gives Reus possession in the Shakhtar half. The German plays a one-two with Lewandowski but Fernandinho slides in to win the ball brilliantly. Fantastic midfield play from the Brazilian.
33'
Shakhtar almost get another! Taison displays blistering space as he waltzes past Santana and races to the byeline. He clips in a cross but Schmelzer heads away to stop the lurking Luiz Adriano from supplying the finishing touch.
31'
D. Srna has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk!
GOOOAAALLL!!! THAT IS WHAT SRNA CAN DO! His corners may have been poor but the Croatian comes good when it really matters. An excellently-struck free kick bends over the wall and while it may not be right in the corner, the pace catches Weidenfeller out and it crashes into the back of the net.
30'
Some more sloppy defending from Santana as he goes through the back of Luiz Adriano 25 yards from goal in a central position. There was no need for that really and now Srna has an opportunity to finally show what he is really capable of from a dead ball.
28'
This is a much better spell for Lucescu's men. Finally Srna whips in an impressive cross but Piszczek heads it out of the area. Fernandinho controls it with his chest 25 yards from goal and strikes for goal but his effort it always rising.
27'
That is another poor corner from Srna as he bounces it to the near post. Hubschman tries to bring it under but ends up miscontrolling it and sending it behind for a goal kick.
25'
Kehl's first bad pass of the evening sees Dortmund concede possession and their attack breakdown. The hosts subsequently break through Taison and in trying to catch the Brazilian, Piszczek gives away a free kick. Positive from the winger on his debut.
23'
Shakhtar manage to get forward and relieve the pressure on their defence, winning a corner in the process. Srna's delivery is uncharacteristically poor, though, and BVB can get rid of it easily.
21'
Schmelzer gets forward for the first time this evening but his delivery is not the greatest. He tries to pick out Lewandowski but Rakitskiy reads his intentions and manages to step out and intercept the cross. BVB still firmly on top here though.
19'
WHAT A STRIKE!! Reus proves to be the danger man as he drifts through the heart of the pitch yet again. He knocks the ball past a couple of defenders and thumps a shot at Pyatov's goal. It looks destined for the top corner but the keeper manages to take the sting out of it and hold it.
17'
OFF THE BAR!! Reus whips in a sublime corner from the left and Hummels is the man to meet it on the penalty spot. He sends a bullet header towards the top corner but with Pyatov rooted to the spot, the ball cannons back off the bar. So close to the opener!
16'
Hummels sends a long diagonal ball up towards Lewandowski and despite being marked by two men, the Pole manages to get a cross into the area. He lifts a cross over to the far post but it is cleared behind for a corner.
15'
Good recovery from Santana! The centre-back misses the ball wide on the right and Luiz Adriano steals in behind and picks it up. He drives into the area but the Brazilian manages to get back around and block his compatriot's shot.
13'
Having won the free kick, Reus is rewarded with the responsibility of working the keeper from it. He bends the ball over the wall but it lacks the pace to worry Pyatov, who shuffles across his line and makes a simple catch.
12'
Reus has looked very confident on the ball in these early stages and he does brilliantly to glide up the centre of the field elegantly. He knocks the ball past Rakitskiy but the defender shunts him to the ground. Referee Howard Webb gives him a telling off but BVB have a free kick in a dangerous area.
10'
After Mkhitaryan has a shot saved by Weidenfeller only to see the offside flag raised, BVB go on the offensive. Gotze picks the ball up on the left and floats a lovely cross into the area. Lewandowski is marked tightly but gets his head on it, however his attempt lacks power and is collected easily.
8'
Another chance for Kuba as he runs diagonally out to the right from a central position. He does not even look at the goal, but it certainly shows. Once more he strikes the ball poorly, dragging his effort right across goal and wide of the post.
6'
BVB stick the ball into the area for the first time this evening but Chygrynskiy gets his head to it. The ball only falls as far as Kuba who attempts an ambitious overhead kick. His connection is poor and he sends it well wide with the effort coming off of his shin.
4'
These two teams have met twice previously, with both fixtures coming in the qualifying round of the 2001-02 Champions League. Although it was Dortmund who progressed on aggregate, they suffered a 2-0 defeat away to the Ukrainians.
2'
Darijo Srna signals his intent to attack down the right flank tonight as he is played in by Alex Teixeira. However, the Croatian's cross is not the best as he sends it high and deep. No one can get on the end of it and the ball goes behind for a goal kick.

And we are under way at the Donbass Arena!
The Champions League is back! Welcome all to Goal.com's LIVE text commentary on tonight's last 16 clash between Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Dortmund. My name is Tom Webber and I am going to be your host for this evening.
The match between Real Madrid and Manchester United may be grabbing all the attention tonight, but we still have some fine attacking talent on both sides at the Donbass Arena tonight. The teams are in so lets see who starts.
Tonight marks the hosts' first competitive fixture since their Group Stage defeat to Juventus back in early December. BVB will no doubt hope to emulate the Bianconeri, who emerged as 1-0 winners, and depart from Ukraine with a handy advantage.
However, Jurgen Klopp's men suffered a heavy defeat to Hamburg at the weekend, with Mats Hummels not having his greatest afternoon for Dortmund. A few mistakes led to goals against his side so he will need to regain his focus to avoid similar slip-ups this evening.
The last time Shakhtar faced German opposition was in the 2009 Uefa Cup final. On that night they overcame Werder Bremen 2-1 after extra time for their first ever continental title. Six of the starting line-up from that evening begin tonight: Pyatov, Chygrynskiy, Fernandinho, Rat, Srna, Luiz Adriano. Could that consistency hold them in good stead?
There will be a moment silence now for the four Donetsk fans who unfortunately lost their lives after a plane carrying supporters crash landed earlier this evening.
The pre-match formalities are over and kick off is just a few moments away!
HT Shakhtar 1-1 Dortmund: A decent half at football at the Donbass Arena saw the hosts soak up a lot of pressure before taking the lead through a Srna free kick. BVB kept their heads up, though, and managed to pull level through Lewandowski just before the break. Shakhtar will need to try and put some distance between them and the Bundesliga outfit in the next period so we should still get plenty of excitement.
Join me again in 15 minutes for what will no doubt be an interesting half of football! Be sure to leave any thoughts or comments you have in the chat box on the right side of the Live Match Centre.
FT Shakhtar 2-2 Dortmund: It finishes all square in Donetsk but BVB's two away goals puts them in pole position ahead of the second leg. Lewandowski equalised after Srna's free kick had put the hosts ahead and then Hummels brought the Bundesliga side from behind at the death after a brilliant strike from Douglas Costa. What a great game.
In the end it was probably a deserved result, with both sides deserving to take something from the game. That is it from us at Goal.com for now, but be sure to keep it with us for all the post-match news and analysis. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to guide you through this evening's action.
