A huge cheer from the Lazio fans as Biava once again punts the ball upfield. They are so close to victory now.
90' +3
WHAT A CHANCE FOR LAZIO TO WIN IT! Miroslav Klose splits the Roma defence to send Mauri through on goal and the 33-year-old sees his first shot blocked by Marquinhos before firing straight at Lobont from the rebound. Will he rue that miss?
90' +2
M. Ciani enters the game and replaces O. Onazi.
Ogenyi Onazi goes down on the turf and requires treatment. Totti feels he is play-acting however and is booked by Orsato for his protests.
90' +1
F. Totti gets yellow.
Tempers beginning to boil over on the touchline now with several Roma players venting their frustration. Three minutes of stoppage time remaining.
90'
Roma continue to pump the ball long but Lazio stand firm time and time again to head clear. Can Roma find something special?
88'
Roma just cannot get hold of possession in the Lazio half at the moment with the Biancocelesti doing a good job in pegging them back. Two minutes remaining for Lazio to hold on.
87'
N. Burdisso gets yellow.
Nicolas Burdisso is the latest to see the yellow card waved in his direction, this time for dissent.
85'
Five minutes remaining for Roma to find an equaliser. Who can be their saviour?
84'
Á. González enters the game and replaces Hernanes.
Petkovic also decides to make a change and it is a defensive one as Alvaro Gonzalez replaces Hernanes.
83'
Dodô enters the game and replaces Marquinho.
Roma make a second change, replacing Marquinho with Dodo. Can it prove a tactical masterstroke from Andreazzoli?
Minute
Description
82'
This game is really stretched now and with Roma committing players forward, there is space for Lazio to exploit but with options left and right, Mauri inexplicably fails to pick out a teammate with his pass. A good chance goes begging.
80'
Candreva strides forward from midfield once again, taking the ball past the challenge of Castan, but the Italian can only fire his strike over the crossbar. He's been excellent today.
78'
Under fifteen minutes remaining here and you can feel the tension inside the Olimpico. Can Lazio hold on to secure their sixth Coppa Italia title? Totti whips another dangerous cross into the box but it is well claimed by Marchetti.
76'
D. Osvaldo enters the game and replaces F. Balzaretti.
Andreazzoli finally decides to make a change and unsurprisingly it is Osvaldo who comes on, at the expense of Balzaretti. Can he help Roma find a way back into this game?
75'
S. Lulić gets yellow.
Senad Lulic is the next man to be cautioned when he obstructs Marquinhos.
73'
SO NEARLY AN EQUALISER! Roma almost reply instantly with a freakish goal when Totti's freekick from distance bounces awkwardly and forces Marchetti to tip the ball onto the crossbar. The Roma players scream that it had crossed the line, but the referee rightfully waves play on.
71'
S. Lulić has scored a goal for Lazio!
LAZIO TAKE THE LEAD! Antonio Candreva has been brilliant in the second half and unsurprisingly he is the architect as he bursts past Balzaretti down the right before fizzing in a low cross which is palmed away by Lobont but only into the path of the Bosnian who taps in from a few yards out. The Biancocelesti are bouncing.
70'
Mattia Destro nearly opens the scoring when he spins away from Biava inside the box but his tame effort is well saved by Marchetti.
68'
This game is end-to-end now and Totti is the next to go close when his fizzing low drive is well stopped by the fingertips of Marchetti.
67'
Lazio attack straight down the other end and they go so close to opening the scoring when Mauri's volley fizzes across the face of goal after he had been picked out by Lulic. It's hotting up now.
66'
Giuseppe Biava has been tremendous for Lazio so far and he produces a brilliant block to prevent Lamela from opening the scoring.
65'
Miroslav Klose gambles when he looks to get on the end of Hernanes' skewed left-footed shot, but the ball just eludes the outstretched leg of the German poacher and goes out for a goal kick.
63'
De Rossi lays the ball off to Totti 35 yards from goal but the 36-year-old's fierce strike blazes high over the crossbar. Not one of his better efforts.
61'
Just over an hour played here at the Olimpico and still we are unsure of who will be crowned the Kings of Rome. I expect Pablo Daniel Osvaldo may be on for the Giallorossi soon.
59'
Francesco Totti looks to add to his nine derby goals when he receives Marquinho's pass outside the box, but his outside-the-foot effort swerves away from goal and out for a goal kick.
58'
Antonio Candreva lets fly from outside the box but Lobont is equal to it and makes a smart save.
57'
Penalty appeals at both ends as Hernanes and Marquinho go down in the box under soft challenges. However, Orsato is not interested and waves play on.
56'
Andreazzoli must be credited with the way his Roma side have defended so far. They look very well organised and disciplined. I can't imagine Zeman's team would be 0-0 at this stage.
54'
S. Mauri enters the game and replaces C. Ledesma.
Vladimir Petkovic is forced to make a change, replacing Cristian Ledesma with Stefano Mauri. What impact will that have on proceedings?
53'
Concern for Lazio as Cristian Ledesma goes down clutching his leg. It seems he has pulled a muscle and won't be able to continue.
52'
It's been a much brighter start to the second half and Roma threaten when Marquinho jinks past Onazi but his right-footed drive is comfortably saved by Marchetti.
50'
Marquinhos bombs forward from right-back and with Lazio players backing of him, the young Brazilian opts to shoot but scuffs his effort narrowly wide of Marchetti's right-hand post.
49'
Marquinho capitalises on a loose ball in the Lazio box and the Brazilian's venomous strike is blocked bravely by the body of Cana.
48'
It's been a good start to the second half for Lazio and they threaten again but Candreva's corner is well headed clear by De Rossi.
47'
Candreva does well to escape the challenge of Balzaretti down the right and the Italian forces Lobont into a smart save when his cross nearly catches the Romanian goalkeeper out at his near post.
46'
Lazio get the ball rolling for the second half. No changes to the teams at the break.
45'
WHAT A CHANCE FOR ROMA! Marquinhos is the architect as he produces a brilliant run down the right before picking out Destro at the back post, who rises above Cana but can only head inches over the crossbar. With his goalscoring record in the competition, you expect to see the net bulging.
43'
Candreva produces some neat footwork to find space down the right but his cross into the box is headed clear by Castan. Both sides cancelling each other out so far.
41'
Onazi looks to make things happen when he bursts into the box but the Nigerian midfielder's cross is well cleared by Castan. Will we get a goal before the break? Four minutes remaining.
39'
M. Klose gets yellow.
ANOTHER YELLOW CARD! Miroslav Klose is the fifth player in the book for a mistimed tackle on Burdisso. That was certainly a striker's challenge.
37'
Shouts for a penalty from the Lazio fans when Candreva goes down after having his shirt pulled by Balzaretti. Daniele Orsato is not interested however and waves play on.
35'
GREAT SAVE FROM LOBONT! Ledesma's initial delivery is overhit but Radu produces a splendid cross to pick out Klose in the box and the big German forces the Roma shotstopper into a brilliant reflex save from his header. Best move of the match so far.
34'
This game has been littered with fouls so far and Totti is the next culprit when he brings down Ledesma. Good position for Lazio to get the ball into the box here.
32'
Hernanes gets yellow.
A fourth yellow card of the game after Hernanes brings down Marquinho with a clumsy challenge. Both sides need to keep their discipline here.
30'
Both sides are certainly not pulling out of the tackles and it's been a fascinating midfield battle so far. Michael Bradley has been brilliant for the Giallorossi in breaking up the Lazio attack. Fifteen minutes until half-time.
28'
Senad Lulic has looked dangerous down the left and he nearly produces the opening goal when he looks to pick out the run of Klose but his low cross is well intercepted by Burdisso.
26'
Marquinho gets yellow.
Marquinho is frustrated to see Orsato blow for a foul and the Brazilian is booked for kicking the ball away. The referee is certainly not afraid to delve into his pocket today.
24'
Marquinho drops his shoulder to ghost past Onazi with ease but his shot is well blocked by Konko before Totti balloons an effort high over the crossbar. When Totti has scored against Lazio, Roma have never lost.
22'
Lazio are not afraid to shoot and Ledesma is the next to try his luck, but his volley bounces narrowly wide of Lobont's right-hand post.
21'
A couple of half chances but no clear cut opportunity for either side so far. Antonio Candreva goes for the spectacular when he cuts inside Balzaretti onto his left foot, but the midfielder drags his shot well wide of the target.
19'
Lazio attack straight down the other end but Lulic's dangerous low cross into the box is well cleared by Castan.
18'
Bradley is breaking up the Lazio attack excellently and he feeds Lamela midway through the opposition half and the Argentine tests Marchetti with a low fizzing drive.
16'
Roma are looking to catch Lazio on the counter-attack and continue to hit early balls over the top of the defence for Destro to chase but to no avail so far. Tense opening period here in Rome.
14'
Lazio win the first corner of the game but Candreva's delivery is poor and Destro clears at the front post.
13'
Mattia Destro has five goals in four Coppa Italia matches this season but the Italian international is yet to have a sniff on the Lazio goal. Can he prove the difference this evening?
11'
F. Balzaretti gets yellow.
Federico Balzaretti is the first Roma man in the book when he is cautioned for bringing down Candreva.
10'
ROMA GO CLOSE! Lamela and Marquinho combine excellently to set up Bradley and the American surges past Cana in the box before clipping an effort inches past the post.
9'
Francesco Totti looks to make his mark on proceedings when he collects the ball on the edge of the box, but his curling effort is well saved by Marchetti down low to his left.
8'
Michael Bradley plays a risky pass back towards Burdisso and the American midfielder is fortunate to see his teammate quickly steal the ball away from the attentions of Klose who was looking to pounce on the opportunity.
6'
Lazio are enjoying a good spell here and they look to test Roma's shakey defence. The Giallorossi conceded 56 goals in the league this season, 14 more than their rivals.
4'
GOOD SAVE FROM LOBONT! Lazio nearly take an early lead when Senad Lulic cuts inside onto his right foot and forces a good save from the Romanian goalkeeper. Miroslav Klose looks to capitalise on the rebound but can only find the side netting,
3'
Only five of the 48 players called up to the squads are actually from Rome and they know more than anyone how special today is. Can Totti fire his side to victory? It's been a good start from Roma.
1'
C. Ledesma gets yellow.
Daniele Orsato blows his whistle and the battle of Rome is finally underway...
A yellow card after 42 seconds for Lazio captain Cristian Ledesma after he hacks down Erik Lamela. I'm sure that will be the first of many.
The day has finally arrived for what promises to be one of the most fiercely-contested Coppa Italia finals in history, as capital giants Roma and Lazio go head-to-head in the 158th Derby della Capitale. Roma interim coach Aurelio Andreazzoli quoted earlier in the week that "it is all or nothing" and those words cannot be more apt as today's winner not only claims the Eternal City's bragging rights, but also a Europa League spot for next season. Who will be crowned the Kings of Rome? Bringing you all the action from the Stadio Olimpico, my name is Max Bentley. Feel free to tweet me your thoughts and predictions on the match via Twitter @MaxBentley1.
Aurelio Andreazzoli has done a fine job in turning around Roma's season when he replaced Zdenek Zeman in February and victory today could give him a platform to stake a claim to hold onto the managerial position for next season. In fact, Roma's fine end to the season allowed them to eclipse Lazio on the final day, finishing a point higher in sixth position. Vladimir Petkovic's side were title contenders at one stage but after seeing their fixture list congested as a result of successful cup and European campaigns, the Biancocelesti slumped miserably behind their rivals.
However, Lazio have enjoyed this fixture in recent memory, winning three of their last four meetings against the Giallorossi. Can they claim victory again this afternoon in what is arguably the most important derby in the clubs' history?
Roma go in search of a record 10th Coppa Italia title which would allow them to wear a permanent silver star on their jerseys for next season. Lazio have lifted the trophy on five occasions.
Without any further ado, here are the lineups...
ROMA (4-2-3-1): Lobont; Marquinhos, Burdisso, Castan, Balzaretti; Bradley, De Rossi; Lamela, Totti, Marquinho; Destro.
Maarten Stekelenburg is the only absentee for Roma, meaning that Bogdan Lobont takes his place between the sticks. Francesco Totti captains his boyhood club in a bid for his third Coppa Italia medal whilst the competition's top goalscorer, Mattia Destro, is preferred to Pablo Daniel Osvaldo up front.
As for Lazio, Louis Saha is ruled out with a thigh strain whilst Alvaro Gonzalez and Andre Dias have not fully recovered from knocks. Hernanes has passed a late fitness test however and the Brazilian starts behind lone striker Miroslav Klose.
We can certainly expect some fireworks this evening, as the last five meetings between the sides have provided eight red cards and 34 bookings.
Kick-off is five minutes away. Who will claim the city's bragging rights and a Europa League spot for next season? Let me know your predictions via Twitter @MaxBentley1.
The teams emerge from the tunnels to a ferocious roar from the stands. Malika sings the national anthem with both sets of fans waving flags and singing along. Wonderful scenes.
HALF TIME: ROMA 0-0 LAZIO. It's been a physical first half in Rome with both teams enjoying a real battle in the midfield. It hasn't been the open game that many expected although Miroslav Klose and Mattia Destro have both spurned promising goalscoring opportunities. Let's hope for some goals in the second half. Nothing to split the sides at the break.
Can Totti fire Roma to a record tenth Coppa Italia title or will Lazio stretch their unbeaten run against their rivals to five games? Who can make the difference? Let me know your thoughts via Twitter @MaxBentley1.
Both sides seem afraid of the consequences of losing here but an early goal in the second half would surely change the mentality of both sides. The teams re-emerge from the tunnels. Get ready for the second half.
Daniele Orsato blows the final whistle. LAZIO ARE COPPA ITALIA WINNERS!!
FULL TIME: ROMA 0-1 LAZIO. Senad Lulic's 71st minute strike gives the Biancocelesti a sixth Coppa Italia title and a Europa League spot for next season. Francesco Totti's face tells the whole story.
Is that the end for Aurelio Andreazzoli? He's done a fine job in turning around Roma's domestic campaign but losing that final to their fierce rivals will surely not make him too popular in the Giallorossi camp. A big summer ahead for the Roma board to consider.
The Lazio players parade an eagle (their club symbol) in front of their fans. Plenty of tears on Roma faces.
It was hardly a cup classic but Lazio will not care as they claim the bragging rights over their city rivals and prevent Roma from donning a silver star on the shirts for next season. The Roma players go up to collect their runners-up medals.
The Lazio players collect their winners' medals. Stefano Mauri waits patiently to lift the trophy.
Stefano Mauri raises the trophy high and Lazio are champions! What a wonderful achievement for Vladimir Petkovic's side.
Understandably, most of the Roma fans have already left the stadium. No doubt they will be back next year fighting stronger than ever before. It's now five games without a win against their fierce rivals.
