Gignac takes a high ball well under control and gets a shot off, but the keeper saves comfortably.
90' +1
Ocampos dribbles into shooting space at the top of the box but drills it right at Mandanda.
90'
Payet cuts in onto his left foot and tries to bend it into the far corner, but never gets his bearings right and it sails over the top.
88'
Rodriguez with the delivery towards Riviere, but Mandanda takes out Mendez en route to punching the ball clear.
86'
No pattern of play any longer from Marseille as Diawara comes out with the ball, but has no passing options and no ideas as to what to do with the ball.
84'
Very professional job from Monaco it has to be said. They have not exerted an ounce of effort more than was needed to close out a comfortable result.
82'
Time no longer on the visitors side. They need to get on with it, but their mini revival has seemingly come too late.
80'
CLOSE for Gignac, who was closed down quickly by Subasic after breaking the offside trap! Or so he thought, because the offside flag has actually halted his endeavors.
78'
Finally some urgency from a Marseille perspective as they begin to force some promising openings around the area...
Minute
Description
76'
Goalscoring hero Germain is also replaced by Ocampos for the final stretch.
75'
L. Ocampos enters the game and replaces V. Germain.
74'
S. Khalifa enters the game and replaces M. Lemina.
Marseille with their final change as Lemina, still struggling slightly, is replaced by Khalifa.
73'
A. Gignac gets yellow.
72'
As a matter of fact, the big striker is booked for his protests.
71'
Gignac goes down inside the penalty area as the challenge came in from Carvalho, but the referee deems it a stumble in the area. Gignac is furious!
70'
Fabinho enters the game and replaces L. Kurzawa.
69'
M. Obbadi enters the game and replaces G. Kondogbia.
Play resumes only to be halted once again for a raft of substitutions.
67'
Abidal is the next man in the book for a bad challenge on Lemina, which leaves the Marseille man in need of some treatment.
66'
E. Abidal gets yellow.
65'
Not much happening in terms of chances out on the field. Marseille have held the ball in the opposition half for a spell, but are struggling to create anything.
63'
Marseille have created squat all all game. Impossible to see them even coming close to getting back into this game.
61'
D. Payet enters the game and replaces F. Thauvin.
Thauvin, who looked to be getting into his stride at one point in the first half after creating two back to back chances, has rather faded and departs for Payet.
59'
M. Lemina gets yellow.
Kondogbia is felled by Lemina, and the latter is booked for his troubles.
57'
E. Rivière has scored a goal for Monaco! Assist by G. Kondogbia.
The other half of Monaco's strike pair gets in on the act, as a scintillating link up on the right hand side sees Kondogbia ping in a great ball to Riviere, who smashes home!
56'
2-0 MONACO! AND THAT MIGHT BE THAT!
54'
Mandanda is keeping his side in the game it seems, and pulls out another save, this time to deny Rodriguez from close range.
52'
Kodogbia commits a tough tackle on Mendy which sends the pot to the boil a little as the referee steps in to calm down the players.
50'
Good knock down from Germain picks out Rodriguez in stride at the top of the box, but after shimmying past the first man, he cannot manufacture enough space to beat the second!
48'
Rodriguez wastes a decent opening from a free kick, floating the effort harmlessly wide on the far side of the goal.
46'
G. Imbula enters the game and replaces B. Cheyrou.
Here we go again!
45' +1
An uneventful added period ends with the half time whistle.
45'
Just the one minute to close out this half.
43'
Another misplaced pass, this time from Valbuena to Abdallah on the overlap. Poor, poor stuff from Marseille.
41'
V. Germain has scored a goal for Monaco! Assist by João Moutinho.
MONACO LEAD!
Just when Marseille were looking dangerous, the hosts put them in their place! Excellent play from Germain takes Diawara out of the equation, and he slots the ball home to break the deadlock!
39'
Thauvin nearly makes an impact in the box again, but he just cannot connect with a dangerous cross.
37'
Thauvin does well to combine with Mendy, but he cannot add end product to the move and get the ball centred. Still, Marseille getting positive in the opposition half.
35'
Valbuena gets a decent angle for a cross after hard work on the flanks, and with Gignac in the centre he pings the ball in, but Abidal is swift to cut it out.
33'
Diawara more decisive this time coming out for the ball, and he makes a good challenge on Germain to prevent him from escaping towards the byeline.
31'
The ball is laid in towards Germain at the near post, but he's struggling to adjust his body for the shot and can't turn it home! Another opening!
29'
It's hard to understate how bad the visitors have been at keeping the ball. The amount of careless giveaways and turnovers that I've seen is not acceptable for a top division club.
24'
It's only Gignac and scraps up front for OM, as the visitors struggle to provide him with any kind of meaningful service. Not happy hunting for the forward so far. Valbuena, after a bright start, has been invisible.
22'
Monaco just keep chipping away at the resolve of Marseille as Rodriguez spins a good shot off target, and another chance goes begging.
20'
Marseille are not making it easy on themselves with their disjointed play at the back. They seem to panic every time the ball comes near the 18 yard area.
18'
Defensive mixup from Diawara allows Germain to run through on goal, but he misses the target and Marseille breathe a sigh of relief! They escape again!
16'
MANDANDA AGAIN! Raggi finds himself free on the edge of the box after another foray forward, and tries to bend one into the far corner with his left foot, but Mandanda closes the angle quickly and parries.
14'
The big man is back on his feet and play resumes. With nine goals in his last seven games, Marseille had better hope so.
13'
Problem here for Gignac, who took an awkward fall in a challenge, and is down panting on the deck. He needs some treatment.
11'
Kurzawa is asking just a little too much of Germain from a diagonal ball, as the striker cannot muster enough speed to catch the ball before it escapes over the byeline.
9'
The visitors, in a bid to get something going in the opposition half, are taking the rather lazy route of pumping the ball forward for the barrel chested Gignac to battle for.
7'
Monaco finally starting to get bodies in the opposition half, but they can't hold possession for more than a beat.
5'
Stronger start from the hosts, who have seen most of the ball so far. Valbuena, as ever, has looked effervescent on the wing in the early goings.
3'
MANDANDA GREAT SAVE! RIviere beats the offside trap and nearly does the same to the keeper from close range, but Mandanda is agile to push away!
1'
Here we go!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Monaco's clash with Marseille from the Stade Louis II. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
So, Monaco begin their long run of fixtures without leading scorer and all around talisman Radamel Falcao. What's more, the principality outfit still sanctioned the loan of Lacina Traore to Everton despite this seeming as good a time as any for the Ivorian striker to strut his stuff. Valerie Germain will lead the line alongside Emmanuel Riviere, another rumoured departee (to Stoke).
Marseille name a strong squad, headlined by Andre-Pierre Gignac up front. The French striker has been in good goalscoring form as of late, getting his name on the scoresheet in each of the club's last three games. He too has been under the transfer microscope, with a 'sizeable' offer from an unnamed English club apparently rejected, according to chairman Vincent Labrune.
Monaco with their noses deservedly in front after largely dominating the opposition with little trouble. Germain got the goal five minutes before the end of the half, and by the looks of it, a disjointed Marseille have a lot to do to get back into the game.
Monaco close the gap on PSG, as they make a fine response to their first game without Falcao. Marseille were never in contention, as goals from Germain and Riviere took then out of the game.
