We're into the dying embers of the match, with Arsenal looking to run down the clock by holding onto the ball for the remaining seconds. The tempo is slow, as both sides know the outcome of this one by now.
90' +1
Szczesny goes down after being caught in the head by Sinclair, after the Polish goalkeeper made the unorthodox decision to head the ball clear of the edge of his box. He receives some treatment, while plenty of Man City fans have seen enough and decide to start making their way home.
90'
There are three minutes of stoppage time.
89'
Sinclair breaks down the left-hand side, before trying to fire a low effort across goal, but Debuchy slides in to put the ball behind for a corner. The set piece is swung in, which Szczesny misses, but Boyata can't quite manage to turn home after rising highest!
87'
Arsenal continue to sit deep in two banks of four, leaving Giroud and Campbell in more advanced positions. Despite not having Mertesacker this afternoon, nor Koscielny in the second half, the Gunners have looked solid against two great strikers in the form of Dzeko and Jovetic.
86'
J. Campbell enters the game and replaces A. Ramsey.
85'
S. Sinclair enters the game and replaces Jesús Navas.
Gibbs goes down holding his ankle, with the left-back needing some treatment after appearing to land awkwardly. Campbell is readying himself on the sideline for the Gunners, with the Costa Rica international looking to make an impact in place of Ramsey - while Sinclair replaces Navas for Man City.
83'
Arsenal are sitting off the opposition, holding their shape and only pressing when they really have to. Fernando is becoming a very frustrated figure in the centre of midfield, which could prove costly should he pick up his second yellow card of the game.
81'
We're now into the last ten minutes, which has signalled the start of Arsenal fans being keen to cheer each pass which their side make. They've been very comfortable, save for a few moments. It's looking extremely unlikely that Man City can find three goals in the remaining minutes.
79'
Man City continue to retain possession, but the game looks way beyond them at this point in proceedings. Milner and Zucilini are providing intensity, but the Citizens can't quite find the final ball required to carve this resilient Arsenal side open.
Minute
Description
77'
Chambers gives away the ball, but recovers well to slide in and dispossess Jovetic. Richards comes into the fray for Man City. Meanwhile, Szczesny has to be very quick off his line to smother a through ball, with some lurking players in sky blue.
76'
M. Richards enters the game and replaces A. Kolarov.
75'
Zuculini tries to ambitiously spin away from Chambers in the Arsenal penalty area, but the former Southampton man stays strong to shepherd the ball out of play for a corner - which again comes to nothing for Man City.
73'
Flamini chases a loose ball to the byline, before attempting to cut it back into the box for Giroud to contest. Caballero narrows the angle and claims easily. Just over a quarter of an hour left for Pellegrini's men to leave any kind of lasting imprint on this match.
72'
Fernando lines up an effort from the edge of the box, but it heads wide with the help of Debuchy. Szczesny is quickly off his line to claim the corner delivery yet again, with the Polish goalkeeper commanding his area well this afternoon.
70'
T. Rosický enters the game and replaces Santi Cazorla.
Rosicky now replaces Cazorla, as Wenger takes the opportunity to rest another of his important options. Man City continue to see more of the play, but they're lacking the final ball required to open the scoring on their behalf.
68'
M. Flamini enters the game and replaces J. Wilshere.
Wilshere is taken off by Wenger, replacing the England international with Flamini. He'll be glad to make his way through more than an hour without picking up a niggle, while the former Milan midfielder offers the ability to shore things up.
66'
Less than half an hour remains for Man City to squeeze their way back into this one! Clichy is set on his way down the right before whipping in a cross, which Jovetic meets with an audacious over-head kick! He makes contact, but sends the ball spiralling way wide.
64'
This is turning into quite a resounding defeat for Man City, although the Premier League winners have looked much-improved in the second half. A goal out of the blue from Giroud has them rocking once again, with Arsenal's players and fans taking some heart from that excellent finish.
61'
O. Giroud has scored a goal for Arsenal! Assist by A. Ramsey.
GOOOOOOOAL! WHAT A STRIKE FROM GIROUD! The Frenchman is fed the ball by Debuchy, before dipping a ferocious effort over Caballero from 25 yards out! The Spanish goalkeeper is beaten all ends up by what is quite an effort by Giroud! Arsenal lead 3-0!
60'
J. Milner enters the game and replaces E. Džeko.
B. Zuculini enters the game and replaces Y. Touré.
Two changes from Pellegrini, as Milner and Zuculini come into the fray in place of Dzeko and Yaya Toure. It seems that Man City will be leaving Jovetic alone up from, leaving an extra man in midfield.
58'
Silva floats in another cross, but Chambers rises above Dzeko to nod clear. Man City are dominating play now, with Wenger's half-time changes leading to his side looking much less potent on the break. Already, it's possible to see how important Sanchez can be at the Emirates this season.
56'
Jovetic fires at goal, but Szczesny is able to get down smartly to his right to deny the former Fiorentina man! It's a powerful effort from the Man City striker, but the Poland international gets right behind it, before rising well to claim a cross moments later.
54'
Man City are looking far brighter, with Silva acting as the catalyst in midfield. As Arsenal begin to tire, the Citizens' have a wide array of offensive weapons which are capable of putting their opponents to the sword.
52'
Jovetic tests Szczesny! Toure releases Navas down the right-hand side, before the Spaniard outpaces Gibbs and whips in a cross towards the back post! Jovetic rises well, getting his header on target, but the Arsenal goalkeeper is able to palm the Montenegrin's effort away, before the Man City striker balloons the rebound high and wide.
51'
Fernando gets yellow.
Fernando picks up the first yellow card of the match, as he puts an arm across Wilshere to prevent the England international from breaking forward. Moments later, the same Arsenal man is felled, as Jovetic clips his ankles.
49'
Kolarov breaks down the left with plenty of time to pick out his cross, but the Serbia international fails to find a sky blue shirt. Silva is already pulling the strings for Man City in midfield, with the diminutive substitute looking to make an impact from the very start.
48'
Clichy clips forward a pass, which Silva takes down beautifully in his stride! The Spaniard tries to cut back a cross, but his compatriot Monreal covers across well to defuse the danger. Yaya Toure then goes down after being caught a tiny bit late by Giroud, but should be fine to continue.
47'
Three changes at the break for Arsenal, as Sanogo, Koscielny and Alexis take their leave, with Monreal, Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain taking to the field. Man City only opt for one change, with Nasri withdrawn for Silva.
46'
O. Giroud enters the game and replaces Y. Sanogo.
David Silva enters the game and replaces S. Nasri.
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain enters the game and replaces A. Sánchez.
Nacho Monreal enters the game and replaces L. Koscielny.
We are back underway in the second half! Man City may trail by two goals, but certainly have the quality required to score a few goals here this afternoon. Pellegrini will have ripped into his personnel at the break, while Wenger will be hoping for more of the same from his men.
45'
Caballero is forced to come off his line, with Sanchez exchanging a one-two with Sanogo. The Frenchman sets his teammate away, in behind the Man City defensive line, but the Spanish goalkeeper is alert enough to slide in and clear before the Chilean can take the ball around him!
44'
Nasri whips in a near post corner delivery, but Gibbs is able to head clear. Man City try to throw the ball straight back into the box, but Szczesny claims and kick-starts a Gunners' counter. Sanchez wrongfoots his man with two step-overs on the edge of the penalty area, but his attempted pass into Sanogo is overhit.
42'
A. Ramsey has scored a goal for Arsenal! Assist by Y. Sanogo.
GOOOOOOOAL! RAMSEY MAKES IT TWO FOR ARSENAL! Sanogo holds up the ball rather clumsily, but manages to play the ball into the path of Ramsey. The Welsh midfielder tees himself up nicely before firing into the bottom left corner!
41'
Great work from Koscielny! Jovetic and Dzeko combine brilliantly, with the Montenegrin able to slide a pass in behind Chambers for the Bosnia international to chase! Dzeko drives infield, before trying to find his strike partner with an intelligent pass, but Koscielny steps in to defuse the situation!
40'
Five minutes until the break, with Man City looking a little bit more potent on the break recently. Both teams have the ability to play very vertically, with this game promising to be extremely end-to-end once some personnel tire in the second half!
38'
Huge chance for Nasri! Man City break down the left-hand side, with Kolarov delivering a cross along the six-yard box in search of the Frenchman! It bounces up awkwardly in front of the former Arsenal midfielder, who can't divert it towards goal!
36'
Alexis continues to cause a few problems, with the Chile international caught on the ankle by Clichy. He's been excellent thus far, driving at his man when required, but also able to apply the final ball whether it be down a channel or inviting Debuchy forward.
34'
Narrowly over ten minutes of normal time in the first half remains, with Pellegrini presumably very keen for his side to head into the dressing room at the interval on level terms. It hasn't quite happened for Man City yet, but Navas bursts straight through the centre of the Arsenal defence, only to be denied by a hurried clearance from Szczesny after Chambers managed to apply a risky backpass.
32'
Cazorla is fouled by Clichy, with the Spaniard's boot coming off in the process, but after some brief treatment the goalscorer should be rejoining us. We're past the half hour mark, with Man City disappointingly still not mustering up an effort to test Szczesny.
30'
Sanogo is the target of the set piece, with the Frenchman only able to direct his header straight down the throat of the goalkeeper, despite Caballero being impeded slightly by Sanchez.
29'
Clichy whips in an early cross, but Szczesny is quick off his line to claim. Man City break again moments later, with Dzeko using his strength well to earn his side a corner. It's thrown into the box, but Arsenal deal with the danger once again, before countering quickly. Cazorla tries his luck from range, but the ball cannons off Clichy's calf and behind.
27'
Pellegrini is stood with his arms folded, cutting a rather frustrated figure on the sidelines. After seeing his side fare well in the International Champions Cup over the past month, today is acting as a bit of a reality check, with a temporary change in system perhaps required.
25'
Cazorla drives through the heart of the Man City midfield, before sliding Sanogo through on goal. The Frenchman lets fly across goal, but narrowly drags his shot wide of the target! Arsenal are firing on all cylinders, with Pellegrini's side in danger of conceding a second.
23'
Man City have struggled throughout, with that opening goal finally translating Arsenal's midfield dominance into a deserved lead. Yaya Toure and Fernando have plenty of runners to pick up, with the Gunners' fluid system making life tough for a City side with two strikers.
21'
Santi Cazorla has scored a goal for Arsenal!
GOOOOOOAL! SANTI CAZORLA GIVES ARSENAL THE LEAD! Wilshere manages to poke a through ball into the path of the former Malaga midfielder, who drops a shoulder to earn himself a yard of space, before zipping a low drive across Caballero and into the bottom corner!
20'
Arsenal continue to look strong in midfield, with their full-backs providing much of the width. Chambers darts forward from centre-back, before finding the feet of Sanchez, who immediately looks to feed Debuchy in behind Kolarov. The Frenchman, however, is caught offside.
18'
Wilshere manages to poke a through ball into the penalty box for Gibbs to chase, but the left-back sees his eventual attempted shot across goal blocked. Neither goalkeeper has been forced into a save yet, with their respective defences making the necessary blocks.
17'
Gibbs and Clichy collide, with the Man City defender coming off the worse of the two ex-teammates, but both are fine to continue. Pellegrini's men are starting to grow into the game a little bit more, with a tiny bit of the wind now being taken out of the Gunners' sails.
15'
Despite the opening quarter of an hour belonging to Arsenal in terms of dominance, Man City are already showing that they possess real quality in offensive areas to hurt the Gunners whenever they are given half a chance.
13'
The corner is delivered, aimed at Koscielny, but Man City clear and look to counter. Nasri is found on the edge of the box, but Chambers charges down the ex-Gunners' midfielder's shot! Pellegrini's men keep up the pressure with Jovetic teeing up Fernando, but the Brazilian's long-range effort is also blocked well.
12'
Sanchez now feeds Sanogo down the right channel, but as the Frenchman pulls back the trigger, Nastasic steps across well to clear the ball behind for a corner. Wenger will be very pleased with the early contributions from his marquee summer signing.
11'
Sanchez pulls back a cross from the byline, but Nastasic gets across to his near post and hoofs clear. Man City are under pressure, but Willy continues to not have much to do in the Citizens' net. Pressure isn't being converting into clear cut chances at the moment.
10'
Chambers covers across well, with the youngster staying strong to keep tabs on Yaya Toure. Arsenal are dominating possession, seeing far more of the ball, with a goal for Wenger's men appearing to be on the horizon. Gibbs and Debuchy overlapping is making for quite a numerical advantage in midfield at times.
8'
Debuchy overlaps down the right flank before delivering a back post cross, but Sanogo can't quite get enough contact on the ball to divert his header goalwards! Possession is recovered and worked back out to the former Newcastle man, but again the finishing touch can't be applied.
7'
Man City drop deep and look to absorb the early pressure, as the Gunners take the game to their opposition. Exciting stuff from Arsenal, with Pellegrini's side struggling somewhat in midfield.
5'
Nasri whips in a near post corner delivery, but the Gunners head clear, much to the delight of their fans. There really is no love lost between the Frenchman and his former supporters. Wenger's men continue to look bright, but Man City are ominously leaving both Dzeko and Jovetic up top.
4'
Arsenal start the game the brighter of the two sides, seeing more of the ball and looking to push forward with more regularity. Ramsey broke into the box and got to the byline, before the Welshman's loose pass was cleared hurriedly upfield by Man City.
3'
Chambers finds Sanogo with a long pass, before the Frenchman feeds possession inside to Sanchez. The Chilean drives forward before playing a pass ahead of Wilshere, but the England international is robbed of the ball on the edge of the box. Arsenal's fans roar whenever the former Barcelona forward gets on the ball and looks to rush upfield.
2'
The sun has appeared for the start of this game, despite heavy rain not long before kick-off. The atmosphere is buoyant, with two sets of fans keen for their teams to further fuel their pre-season optimism and kick on with a good performance this afternoon.

We are underway in the first half of the Community Shield! Arsenal and Man City both got their hands on silverware last campaign, but will have to put in a good performance to start this season in the same fashion! This promises to be an entertaining match-up!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Community Shield between Arsenal and Manchester City, where the rain is pouring down at Wembley. Two strong teams are set to clash in the English capital, though a there will be a few absentees due to extended breaks given to those who made it all the way to the World Cup final.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with proceedings, as the English Premier League champions face off against the FA Cup winners. Man City will be hoping to translate their impressive pre-season into victory this afternoon, while Arsenal include a couple of expensive summer signings. And, of course, there are a few ex-Gunners on show for the Citizens to add a bit more spice to the contest.
TEAM NEWS: Calum Chambers is included at centre-back for the Gunners, as Per Mertesacker continues to recover after the World Cup. Fellow new signing Mathieu Debuchy slots in at right-back, with Alexis Sanchez playing ahead of the Frenchman. Jack Wilshere bids to start the season injury-free, with Yaya Sanogo leading the line after striking a bit of goalscoring form in the Emirates Cup.
TEAM NEWS: Willy Caballero is given the nod over Joe Hart in goal for the Citizens, with Gael Clichy and Aleksandr Kolarov continuing at full-back. Dedryck Boyata deputises for Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis, while new signing Fernando starts in central midfield. Former Fiorentina forward Steven Jovetic will bid to take his pre-season form into today's game, where he will partner Bosnia's new captain Edin Dzeko up top.
Arsenal substitutes: Rosicky, Giroud, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal, Flamini, Campbell, Martinez.
Man City starting line-up: Willy; Clichy, Nastasic, Boyata, Kolarov; Navas, Yaya Toure, Fernando, Nasri; Jovetic, Dzeko.
Man City substitutes: Hart, Richards, Rekik, Milner, Sinclair, Silva, Zuculini.
Man City have a whole host of players unavailable for this one, with their bench not boasting plenty of strength in depth. David Silva and James Milner are present to slot into midfield if required, but otherwise Manuel Pellegrini includes forgotten men Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair, as well as the slight inexperience of Karim Rekik and Bruno Zuculini.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have Costa Rica's exciting offensive talent Joel Campbell among their ranks, as Arsene Wenger stays true to his word and includes the 22-year-old in his first-team plans. Olivier Giroud will have a point to prove if he comes off the bench for the Gunners, as Sanogo continues to maintain the faith of his boss.
With only a quarter of an hour left until kick-off, be sure to stick around for all of the first half action, as both teams try to start in the same way they finished last season - by picking up silverware.
The two teams make their way out of the tunnel, with Arsenal in their famous red and white, with Man City in their similarly recognisable sky blue. Kick-off is imminent, with only the pre-match rituals and niceties standing between us and the first action of these two sides' competitive seasons!
HALF TIME! Arsenal lead 2-0 at Wembley against Man City after the first 45 minutes of the Community Shield, with the goals coming from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey. The Gunners have looked strong for long periods, with Pellegrini certainly not a happy man at the moment.
Nasri and Fernando have had a couple of good efforts blocked, with Dzeko and Jovetic occasionally looking dangerous on the break, but Caballero has been much the busier of the two goalkeepers. With their numerical advantage in midfield, Man City are fighting at uphill battle, but can't be ruled out yet! Be sure to rejoin us in ten minutes for all of the second half action!
FULL TIME! Arsenal win the Community Shield, with a 3-0 win over Man City at Wembley. Goals from Cazorla, Ramsey and Giroud wrap up the victory for Wenger's side, with plenty to be optimistic about for the Gunners. Lacking plenty of first-team faces, it didn't really click for the Citizens, leaving Pellegrini frustrating.
Plenty of bright performances on show, with new summer signings getting another opportunity to bed in ahead of the new season. Arsenal were undoubtedly the stronger side, with Wenger having his first piece of silverware of the season. I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time!
