Townsend's delivery is headed clear by Bonucci and the final whistle is sounded!
90' +3
Soriano fouls Carrick in a wide position 25 yards from goal and England are awarded a free kick. One last chance for Hodgson's men.
90' +2
Barkley launches England on the break by sprinting forwards through the centre of the pitch. His attempt to feed Rooney is poor but it ricochets to the feet of Kane. He rifles a first-time effort towards goal which Buffon takes two attempts to get a hold of.
90'
There will be a minimum of three added minutes played at the end of this half.
88'
R. Bertrand enters the game and replaces K. Gibbs.
Time is running out for either side to find a winner now, but a draw would probably be a fair result. Italy had the better of the first half while England have enjoyed a more prominent role after the interval.
Ryan Bertrand gets a short run out as he comes on in Gibbs' stead.
86'
Verratti swings a corner in from the right and Bonucci attacks it. He claims the ball came off the hand of Jones, but nothing more than another corner is awarded. England counterattack from the subsequent delivery with Abate managing to turn Townsend's cross back to his own keeper.
85'
SO CLOSE! Italy almost take the lead through Antonelli! The left wing-back races forward and plays a one-two with Immobile and then Vazquez, enabling him to get on the ball in a shooting position. He attempts to guide an effort inside the far post but he rolls it narrowly wide!
83'
England are in the ascendancy now! Walker whips a cross in from the right after receiving the ball from Kane, but Ranocchia nods it behind for a corner. The Italy centre-back has been first to almost every delivery the Three Lions have put in his area.
81'
BUFFON DENIES ROONEY AGAIN! The keeper ensures his side do not go behind by getting enough on the Manchester United man's shot to send it clear of the goal. The Three Lions' captain was looking to slide that through his legs!
79'
A. Townsend has scored a goal for England! Assist by R. Mason.
GOOOOOOOAAAL! TOWNSEND EQUALISES! Mason beats his marker to the ball and manages to slide the ball into the feet of his Tottenham team-mate. He runs diagonally towards the box before rifling a venomous shot inside the far upright from 20 yards!
Minute
Description
78'
Verratti's corner is flicked on by the near post but it evades another Azzurri shirt before Jones clears over the roof of his own goal.
77'
Verratti releases Immobile down the right with a lovely pass over the defence. He gets inside the box from the right wing but Jones does enough to dispossess him as he looks to chop inside and get a shot away.
75'
Ryan Mason comes on for his England debut with Henderson the man to make way.
74'
R. Mason enters the game and replaces J. Henderson.
SO CLOSE! A fortuitious bounce releases Kane down the right, and he gets his head up before sending a low cross to the near post. Rooney attacks it but it is Ranocchia who gets the touch on it, sending the delivery narrowly wide of the far upright.
73'
L. Antonelli enters the game and replaces M. Darmian.
Another change for Italy as Luca Antonelli replaces Darmian.
72'
E. Moretti enters the game and replaces G. Chiellini.
BUFFON TO THE RESCUE! Chiellini gets caught underneath Gibbs' pass from the left-back position and Rooney gets in behind to bring it down. He then fires a shot at goal which Buffon does well to parry off to the side!
That's Chiellini's last action as he is replaced by Emiliano Moretti.
70'
P. Jones gets yellow.
A. Townsend enters the game and replaces F. Delph.
Another substitution for England as Townsend comes on in place of Delph, who has been rather disappointing tonight.
68'
Walker is forced into an acrobatic clearance as Soriano sprints up from midfield and flicks the ball over his head with his first touch. Had he missed that the Sampdoria man could well have scored one of the best goals of his career!
67'
M. Verratti enters the game and replaces M. Valdifiori.
Valdifiori's debut comes to an early end as he makes way for Marco Verratti.
65'
Barkley breaks down the right and has Rooney sprinting into a great position on the far side of the box. He doesn't spot him, though, and is dispossessed by a challenge from Chiellini before Bonucci clears the loose ball.
64'
Italy's changes have certainly gone some way to halting the momentum that England had begun to build up. It's difficult to see where a goal will come from for the Three Lions.
62'
Vazquez and Immobile immediately link-up and almost add to the scoreline, but Jagielka intercepts after the latter controlled the Palermo man's chest pass. He should have just struck it first time!
61'
C. Immobile enters the game and replaces G. Pellè.
F. Vázquez enters the game and replaces Éder.
Argentine-born Franco Vazquez comes on for his Italy debut in place of Eder, while Pelle is withdrawn so that Ciro Immobile can enter the fray.
60'
I. Abate enters the game and replaces A. Florenzi.
There are is a trio of changes from Conte now, the first of which sees Florenzi make way for Ignazio Abate.
58'
The Three Lions are pressing Italy high up the pitch now, and the home fans are whistling as their team continue to come under pressure. The crosses going into the box still aren't good enough, with the latest being headed away by Ranocchia.
56'
Walcott's night is over as he goes off to be replaced by Barkley.
55'
R. Barkley enters the game and replaces T. Walcott.
SIDE NETTING! Kane and Rooney link up in impressive fashion around the edge of the box before the captain rolls a pass to the left of the box for Gibbs. The Arsenal man wastes the opening, though, firing wide when he had every opportunity to test Buffon.
54'
England have lost four of their last five away trips to face Italy, excluding games in major tournaments, last winning there in May 1961.
52'
KANE! The striker floats around between the defence and midfield before eventually being fed by Carrick. His first touch ricochets fortunately for him, but his shot from the right-hand side of the box flies into the side netting following a deflection.
50'
GREAT SAVE FROM HART! Darmian comes inside from the right and feeds Eder, who gets between Jones and Jagielka but sees his shot kept out of the net by the arm of the keeper. A poor clearance goes straight to Pelle at the top of the box and he fires wide of the target.
49'
Soriano attempts to bend a pass around the back of Jagielka for Eder using the outside of his right boot, but the centre-back stretches out a leg to intercept it before Hart clears.
48'
Chiellini steps up from the back and manages to get another cross into the box, but this time it is cleared away by Jagielka. The Juve centre-back has been rather adventurous tonight.
46'
K. Walker enters the game and replaces N. Clyne.
The second half is underway! Kyle Walker has come on in place of Clyne for the remaining 45 minutes.
45' +1
There is the half-time whistle!
45'
Gibbs pushes up on the left and wins a corner for England as it is signalled that one additional minute will be played at the end of this half.
44'
M. Carrick enters the game and replaces C. Smalling.
It is the end of Smalling's match, as Carrick comes on to take his place. Jones will now move back into defence so his Manchester United team-mate can anchor the midfield.
42'
Smalling requires the attention of the medical staff after remaining on the deck as play continued. He's guided off the pitch and it looks like that could be the end of his night.
40'
Bonucci has been spraying some decent passes from the halfway line so far tonight and he angles another impressive ball over the defence for Darmian to run onto. The wing-back went too early, though, and is flagged offside.
38'
Italy put a good spell of pressure together but they fail to worry Hart from a corner. Soriano manages to keep the ball in play and deliver another cross, though Bonucci's chest control gets away from him and Smalling hacks clear.
36'
G. Pellè gets yellow.
Pelle is the latest player to be shown a yellow card, and it comes after he pulls back Jagielka near the halfway line.
34'
The medical staff come onto the pitch to ensure Eder is fine to continue, and quickly after departing the field he jogs back into the action as play continues.
32'
K. Gibbs gets yellow.
The corner comes to nothing for the visitors, but as Italy look to get it clear Eder takes a nasty fall after a coming together with Jones. The referee allows play to continue before halting play after Gibbs' challenge on Valdifiori inside the centre circle. That is enough to earn the Arsenal man a yellow card.
31'
Kane and Henderson combine well at the top of the box but the striker's attempt to find his team-mate inside the area is cut out. England keep the pressure up and Walcott forces a corner.
29'
G. Pellè has scored a goal for Italy! Assist by G. Chiellini.
GOOOOOOAAAAL!! ITALY LEAD! Chiellini knocks the ball past Jones out on the left before sending a cross into the box with his right foot. Pelle gets a light flick on the delivery which is enough to send it beyond Hart and inside the far corner!
28'
Once more Jagielka is in the way! The centre-back tracks the run of Pelle and stops the striker from testing Hart off Valdifiori's incisive pass into the box.
27'
Rooney dispossesses Valdifiori and clips an incredible cross-field pass out to Walcott on the left corner of the box. The Arsenal man ducks inside before releasing a shot that deflects off Ranocchia before being gathered by Buffon.
25'
Bonucci fires a pass into Soriano at the top of the box and the Sampdoria man chests it down to Eder. However, he is adjudged to have used his arm so the referee awards England a free kick.
23'
STAT: Chiellini is the highest-scoring player in this current Italy squad with six international goals.
21'
IT HITS THE CROSSBAR! Delph's cross from the left is attacked at the back post by Kane, and he rises above his marker to knock the ball down for Walcott in the middle. The Arsenal man doesn't react quick enough to convert and the ball runs loose. Rooney meets it on the edge of the box and his strike takes a touch off Soriano before rattling the frame of the goal!
19'
Italy are sitting very deep and congesting the midfield. It is forcing England to pick out rather ambitious vertical passes that are frequently being intercepted. The Azzurri break after Jones' misplaced pass but Darmian fouls Clyne as he attacks a cross at the back post.
17'
TOP DEFENDING FROM JAGILEKA! Chiellini's pass squirms beyond Clyne and through to Darmian on the left wing, and the Torino man races into the box. He stabs a square pass across goal with Eder looking for a tap in, but the England centre-back is there first and clears it out for a corner which Chiellini nods well wide of the target.
15'
What a waste! Eder opts to have a go at goal from the free kick, 30 yards from goal, but he makes a real hash of it and almost sends the ball out for a throw in.
14'
Rooney sends a pass straight to Parolo, and the midfielder spots Eder sprinting into the England half. He pings a diagonal pass into the striker's path and he beats Smalling to it. The Brazilian-born striker then steps inside and draws a foul.
12'
The tempo is not particularly high in this match, though it rarely is in a friendly. England are proving very patient with possession, knocking it around in rather deep areas before probing forward gingerly.
10'
PAROLO! Darmian dribbles across the pitch from the left and, after riding a couple of challenges, tees up the Lazio man. He lets fly with a swerving effort from 25 yards that Hart is forced to tip over the crossbar! That was a venomous strike from the Azzurri midfielder.
9'
That is better from Clyne! This time he picks out Henderson making a run inside the box, and the Liverpool man's touch rolls back for Rooney. It wasn't intentional, though, and it leaves the captain too much work to get a finish on.
8'
Clyne runs inside from the right but cedes possession cheaply. Italy look to hit their guests on the break with Pelle sending a ball out to the left for Eder to chase. Smalling gets across to intervene, passing back to Hart who clears.
7'
Florenzi keeps on finding space out on the right, but this time his begins his run too early and is adjudged offside as the play is switched over to his flank. He really should have held off there.
5'
Pelle uses his strength to hold of Jones, spinning the Manchester United man and bearing down on goal. He attempts to slide a pass between the two centre-backs for Eder to chase, but he puts too much on it and Hart collects. Florenzi was in space on the right and may have been the better option.
4'
Gibbs uses his pace to stop Florenzi from racing down the outside and launching an attack for the hosts. He offloads calmly to Jagielka and England look to build from the back, though they are struggling to string anything together inside the opposition half.
2'
Kane gets floored early on by Chiellini, with the Juventus centre-back simply taking out the striker after he knocked the ball past him and looked to latch onto it. He quickly gets up and dusts himself off once the free kick is awarded.

We are underway!
Good evening and welcome to tonight's LIVE coverage of the international friendly between two former world champions: Italy and England. The Azzurri welcome the Three Lions to the Juventus Stadium in Turin, and both coaches will take the opportunity to field somewhat expiremental line-ups. My name is Tom Webber, and I will be guiding you through all the action.
The two sides met as recently as June 2014, in Manaus during the 2014 World Cup. Italy ran out 2-1 winners but both nations' campaigns ended in disappointing fashion as Costa Rica and Uruguay were the teams to advance from their group. Antonio Conte took over the helm of the Azzurri following their exit, but he has come under increasing pressure for struggling to get results as he rebuilds the squad. He's even received death threats following the injury picked up by Claudio Marchisio during training with the national team.
England, meanwhile, kept faith with Roy Hodgson despite their World Cup disappointment and they appear to be reaping the rewards. They've won all seven of their outings since their elimination from last summer's competition and will be hoping to make it eight in a row tonight.
ITALY TEAM NEWS: Antonio Conte makes a number of changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Bulgaria on Saturday. Gianluigi Buffon has recovered from illness to start in goal and Andrea Ranocchia takes the place of Andrea Barzagli in a three-man defence. Mirko Valdifiori is handed an Azzurri debut in midfield, where he features alongside Roberto Soriano and Marco Parolo. Eder, who scored the all-important equaliser on his debut last time out, partners Graziano Pelle in attack with Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile dropping to the bench.
ENGLAND TEAM NEWS: Leighton Baines, James Milner, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck all returned to their clubs due to injury concerns following the 4-0 win over Lithuania. One of the beneficiaries is Harry Kane, who is handed his first England start after coming on from the bench to score on his debut in that victory. He is joined by Theo Walcott in attack as Wayne Rooney drops into a deeper role. Phil Jones displaces Michael Carrick in midfield so Chris Smalling, Phil Jagielka and Kieran Gibbs all come into the defence.
England substitutes: Butland, Green, Cahill, Walker, Carrick, Townsend, Bertrand, Barkley.
England have faced Italy four times previously in Turin, winning one and losing three. The solitary victory came in their first game there in May 1948 and resulted in a 4-0 win. Furthermore, the Three Lions have won just two of their last 12 meetings with the Azzurri, suffering seven losses and three draws.
The teams are out on the pitch and shortly after the national anthems the match will begin.
There are plenty of spare seats inside the Juventus Stadium this evening. It is perhaps reflective of the troubled start Conte has had to his tenure.
HALF TIME - Italy 1-0 England: The hosts have looked solid at the back, with the Three Lions guilty of being a little bit sloppy in possession too. Rooney's deflected rattled the bar for the visitors but it was the Azzurri who struck first, with Southampton's Pelle heading the opener beyond Hart.
It's been a solid, if unspectacular, display from the hosts, who certainly appear more at ease with their system than Roy Hodgson's men. The likes of Kane and Walcott have not seen enough of the ball, while Pelle and Eder have linked up quite nicely for Conte's side. Stay tuned for the second half!
FULL TIME - Italy 1-1 England: The Azurri took the lead after Rooney hit the bar thanks to a Pelle header, but the Three Lions were much-improved after the interval and finally got an equaliser through Townsend. Both Hart and Buffon made important saves to keep the scores low, and the draw is a fair result for both teams.
That is all we have time for tonight. Thanks for joining me, Tom Webber, and have a great evening.
