THERE IT IS! The referee blows his whistle and brings this entertaining friendly to a close.
90' +3
A. Candreva gets yellow.
V. Chiricheș gets yellow.
LESS THAN A MINUTE TO GO! We are into the final 60 seconds and, if anything, it is looking like Romania will grab the winner. They are enjoying more possession and the Italians are holding on a little.
90' +1
Meanwhile, the fourth official raises his board to indicate that there will be a minimum of four minutes of stoppage time at the end of this game. Both sides still have time to find a winner.
90'
It may have come against the run of play but Romania will not care in the slightest. Andone showed wonderful reactions there to fire home the equaliser.
89'
F. Andone has scored a goal for Romania!
EQUALISER!!! Sirigu can only parry Chiriches' header from Sanmartean's free kick and Andone reacts the quickest to smash the ball into the roof of the net.
87'
The Italians are staying switched on as they are alert to deal with a dangerous Romanian cross into their penalty area. Chiellini calmly heads the ball to safety before Maxim can get there.
85'
A. Ivan enters the game and replaces B. Stancu.
There is another slight break in play as Gabbiadini goes down and looking to be in some pain. He is being helped to the sidelines, and it would be a shame for him to have to leave the match like this on the night of his first international goal.
83'
S. Filip enters the game and replaces R. Raț.
Italy put a neat counter attack together led by Candreva. The substitute pulls the ball back to the edge of the area, where Marchisio fires it way over the bar.
81'
A. Candreva enters the game and replaces S. El Shaarawy.
A huge positive that Conte will take from tonight's game, as he looks towards Euro 2016, is the way that his side suddenly turned it on when they desperately needed to in this second half. Having appeared short of ideas, they clicked and now look very comfortable in a winning position.
79'
The game has lost a little bit of sting over these past couple of minutes. Italy appear to be resting on their laurels and they can afford to in all fairness, as Romania are not threatening them at all.
Minute
Description
77'
M. Parolo enters the game and replaces C. Marchisio.
The home fans get to their feet and give Marchisio a brilliant reception as he is given a breather by Conte. Marco Parolo comes on in his place in the heart of midfield.
75'
We are into the final 15 minutes in Bologna and Italy are looking very good value for their lead at the moment. Romania have simply had no answer since falling behind.
73'
SHOULD DO BETTER! Florenzi delivers another wonderful delivery from a corner which is perfect for El Shaarawy, who cannot get over the ball and heads it over the bar.
71'
That was very cool inside his own area! Maxim is under pressure from the Italians, but very calmly skips away from them before hammering the ball clear.
69'
S. Sirigu enters the game and replaces G. Buffon.
F. Andone enters the game and replaces M. Pintilii.
Romania cannot afford to let their heads drop after falling behind. This is all good experience for them against some of Europe's biggest nations and they need to learn from it going forward.
68'
A. Prepeliță enters the game and replaces G. Torje.
67'
That really was a devastating counter attack from the Italians. The pace and fluidity of that move was far too much for the Romanians to handle. They now lead 2-1.
65'
M. Gabbiadini has scored a goal for Italy! Assist by C. Marchisio.
ITALY TAKE THE LEAD!!! A neat one-two releases Florenzi down the right. Okaka just about keeps his cross alive, before Marchisio's follow-up ball is nodded in by an unmarked Gabbiadini for his first international goal.
63'
CLOSE! Okaka throws himself into the thick of the acton almost immediately, as he makes some space at the near post to attack an inviting cross. His header is just off target, however.
61'
The hosts have made a number of changes as Conte seeks to have a good look at the depth of his squad. Riccardo Montolivo, Stefano Okaka and Manolo Gabbiadini all come on.
59'
R. Montolivo enters the game and replaces R. Soriano.
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces Éder.
S. Okaka enters the game and replaces G. Pellè.
The hosts are looking full of optimism now. They are head and shoulders above their opponents at the moment and need to maintain this strong momentum.
57'
NO PENALTY! Italy come flying out of the blocks after the restart and Eder tumbles to the ground once more. This time under a challenge from Tatarusanu, but the referee is quickly across to book the attacker for diving. Replays suggest he got the decision spot on.
56'
Éder gets yellow.
55'
Penalty goal scored by C. Marchisio for Italy!
JUST!!! Marchisio goes for power and sends the keeper the wrong way, sending his kick high into the roof of the net off the underside of the crossbar. A couple of inches higher will have seen it crash back out.
54'
PENALTY TO ITALY! Eder is brought down in the area by Grigore and the referee has no choice but to point to the spot. This is the perfect opportunity for an equaliser...
52'
Romania are looking the more lively of the two sides, but not by that much. They are playing with a slightly higher tempo and are more promising on the ball.
50'
STAT ATTACK! On this day in 1993, San Marino scored the fastest ever World Cup goal in this stadium. Davide Gualtieri's strike after just eight seconds against England remains the quickest in the history of the competition.
48'
It has been a fairly flat start to this second half in all fairness. The game is still searching for flow and tempo inside these opening stages of the restart.
46'
L. Sânmărtean enters the game and replaces C. Keșerü.
A. Maxim enters the game and replaces C. Budescu.
KICK OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Italy get the ball rolling once again.
45' +3
In all fairness, it looked like the Romanian defender merely showed his strength and awarding a penalty would have been harsh. That was one of the last actions of the first period, as the referee blows for half time.
45' +2
NO PENALTY! And the Italians are livid! Eder beats the offside trap and looks to latch onto a through ball before going to ground under a challenge from Chiriches. The referee is not interested in his appeals, though.
45'
NOT FAR AWAY! The hosts continue to build and the ball runs kindly for Marchisio, who lets fly from just outside the area. He has been known for special efforts from distance in the past, but this attempt goes just over the bar.
44'
Conte's men are still not having any joy, though, as the corner just aimlessly comes to nothing. He will be keen to get them in for the interval and get his message across now.
42'
Good patient play from Italy sees them eventually awarded a corner on the right, after Hoban charged down Darmian's attempt at delivering a decent cross. They need to start taking these opportunities.
40'
We have the first real break in play here, as Hoban receives attention from the medical team after taking a knock in an aerial challenge with Marchisio. He looks like he will be fine to continue, however.
38'
GREAT CHANCE! Italy storm forward on the counter attack and Eder's cross finds an unmarked El Shaarawy, who is just unable to react quickly enough with his back to goal. Tatarusanu is sharp out of goal to gather the ball.
36'
You sense that the home fans are starting to get a little restless here. Their side are enjoying a lot of possession, but failing to trouble the goalkeeper too much as of yet.
34'
GOOD BURST! El Shaarawy always looks like he will make something happen whenever he receives the ball. He surges towards the area again and gets the ball onto his right foot, but Chiriches is in the right place to block his attempt on goal.
32'
Goals have not been all that easy to find for any of the Italians in this squad. In fact, a total of just 35 have been scored among all of the players available to Conte this evening.
30'
WHAT A WASTE! That just about sums up the Italians so far. They take their time and size up the opportunity, but Eder fires it straight into the wall as the Romanians stand firm.
28'
FREE KICK! The referee blows his whistle right on the edge of the Romanian penalty area, as Eder tumbles to the ground after being tripped. This is a really good chance for the Azzurri.
26'
SO CLOSE! Florenzi flashes a wonderful ball right across the area and Eder is sliding in, but is just whiskers away from making the vital contact and grabbing an equaliser.
25'
Italy's build-up play is very good at the moment up until the final third. So much promise comes to an abrupt end once again, as El Shaarawy is flagged offside for starting his run too soon.
23'
Italy build up the pressure and are awarded a corner. Florenzi whips in a dangerous delivery towards the penalty spot, where Pelle's header goes wide of the far post.
21'
Romania will be pleased with the start they have made to this game. They do not want to sit back too much and invite pressure from the Italians, though. There is still a long way to go.
19'
El Shaarawy looks to help the ball into the path of Eder, but the Romanian centre-halves continue their solid start to the game and deal with the situation. The Italians have had no change out of them yet.
17'
It is fair to say that Italy are playing with a lot more urgency since going behind. They are a lot quicker in their movement, but need to get the ball inside the Romanian final third on more occasions.
15'
O. Hoban gets yellow.
The Italian fans are on their feet as Florenzi skips away from a challenge and looks to set up an attack down the right. He is pulled back by Hoban, however, and the Romanian is the first player to have his name taken this evening.
14'
Nothing comes of Romania's free kick and Italy quickly get themselves down the other end, before a cross flashes through the penalty area and behind for a goal kick.
12'
At the other end, the Monaco winger is a little too eager to win the ball back from Sapunaru and concedes a free kick in the process. The visitors are using the opportunity to send both centre-halves forward for this delivery.
10'
Italy look for an immediate response as El Shaarawy finds himself in space out on the left. He looks for Florenzi with his cross, but Romania regroup to clear the danger.
8'
B. Stancu has scored a goal for Romania!
ROMANIA LEAD!!! What a start from the visitors! Stancu pounces on some hesitation between Darmian and Barzagli in the Italian defence, before calmly slotting the ball past the dive of Buffon.
7'
STAT ATTACK! The last meeting between the sides came on this day five years ago. Nothing could separate them as they played out a 1-1 draw, with Ciprian Marica scoring at both ends.
5'
GOOD TRY! Romania come forward and some space opens up in front of Torje, who tries his luck from 25 yards. His effort looks like it will creep inside the far post, but Buffons springs across well to push the ball to safety.
3'
It has been a very open start to this game. Italy come forward with El Shaarawy taking on defenders in the area, before Tatarusanu does well to collect his cross.
1'
KICK OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Romania get us underway.
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! This is Jonathan Davies welcoming you to LIVE text commentary of the international friendly between Italy and Romania at the Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna.
With both sides already guaranteed of their places at Euro 2016 next summer, this is a good opportunity for them to experiment as they start their preparations and putting plans into place.
The 3-1 defeat to Belgium last Friday was only Antonio Conte's second loss in charge of the Azzurri. He makes three changes from that game with Andrea Barzagli, Roberto Soriano and Stephan El Shaarawy all coming into the side.
The last time Romania were in action was last month when they beat the Faroe Islands 3-0 in their final game in Group F. Anghel Iordanescu names a side that includes two Serie A players, including Fiorentina goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu and Napoli defender Vlad Chiriches. Captain Razvan Rat earns his 108th cap.
This should be a good game here, as 13 takes on 14 in the FIFA world rankings. It is the 17th meetng and Romania are searching for just their third victory and first on Italian soil.
HERE THEY COME! The teams have come out onto the field and the national anthems are now being observed.
Before the start of this game, there will be a minute's silence as a mark of respect following the tragic events that happened in Paris on Friday night.
HALF TIME: ITALY 0-1 ROMANIA
Bogdan Stancu's goal after just eight minutes is the difference between the two sides at the break. Romania have looked stubborn at the back and easily dealt with the Italians, who need to offer a lot more in the final third.
Conte needs to encourage his side after this break, they are doing OK but must offer more. Meanwhile, the message from Iordanescu will be for his side to maintain their performance levels but not get complacent.
THEY'RE BACK! The players are returning to the field and the second half is about to get underway.
FULL TIME: ITALY 2-2 ROMANIA
Nothing could separate Italy and Romania tonight in Bologna. Bogdan Stancu gave the visitors a first-half lead, but goals from Claudio Marchisio and Manolo Gabbiadini put the Italians 2-1 up in the second. The Romanians rallied, though, and grabbed a late equaliser through Florin Andone.
That's all for this evening. I've been Jonathan Davies - thank you for following the LIVE action from Bologna, hope you've enjoyed it. Until next time, have a very good evening.
