Bruno goes for a second goal of the game in the final minute of added time, trying his luck with a long-range strike that Strebinger is equal to. Vienna drive forward through Pavelic, who is fouled by Ruiz. The defender gets a yellow card, as the Hofmann stands over the free-kick...
SAVE! Barbosa may have been unconvincing tonight, but he was in the right place at the right time there to prevent Sonnleitner heading Vienna level in the final play of the game!
90' +2
Another sloppy piece of goalkeeping from Barbosa, who spills Petsos' dipping but tame strike from 25-yards-out. He gathers it in at the second attempt, but the Villarreal stopper has certainly failed to impress tonight.
90'
More solid keeping from Strebinger, who collects in Trigueros cross. The 22-year-old has looked totally unfazed since his introduction, and has pulled off some smart reaction saves to keep his side in this game heading into stoppage time.
87'
CHANCE! Another wasted opportunity for Villarreal, as Samu finds himself unmarked and barring down on goal. He tries to work it around Strebinger, despite having Soldado to his right, and the young goalkeeper does brilliantly to get down and win the ball back.
86'
M. Jelić enters the game and replaces P. Prosenik.
A third change from Barisic now, who brings on Jelic in place of Prosenik. Can the forward resuce a point for Vienna?
Petsos surges forward for Vienna and lays it off to Schobesberger, who elects to shoot. The strike is blocked but the visitors regain it and find Kainz, who is unable to produce a quality delivery.
84'
Bruno gets yellow.
Yellow card Bruno Soriano Llido
83'
Nahuel Leiva enters the game and replaces Samu Castillejo.
The final change of the game now for the hosts, with the energetic Castillejo trudging off to be replaced by Leiva. It has been a solid display from the 20-year-old winger tonight, who played his part in Villlarreal's goal with a surging run through Vienna's backline.
The final change of the game now for the hosts, with the ever-energetic Castillejo trudging off to be replaced by Leiva. It has been a solid display from the 20-year-old winger tonight, who played his part in Villlarreal's goal with a surging run through Vienna's backline.
80'
WHAT A MISS! Kainz takes on two Villarreal defenders down the right before drilling in a low shot that is deflected into the path of Stangl. The defender negotiates his way around the despairing dive of Ruiz, but he somehow pokes wide from close range with only Barbosa to beat.
78'
Bruno has scored a goal for Villarreal! Assist by Víctor Ruiz.
Suarez' corner was well-taken towards Ruiz at the near post. The former Valencia defender attempted to turn it goalwards, but instead inadvertently flicked it to Bruno, who made mistake with the finish.
GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL! BRUNO GIVES THE HOSTS THE LEAD! Castillejo drifts towards goal effortlessly and finds Suarez, who attempts to launch in a probing cross that is deflected wide. The former Barcelona man whips in the resulting corner, which falls to the feet of Bruno, who prods home with a low strike into the bottom-left corner to make it 1-0 to Villarreal!
76'
Smart attacking play from Villarreal sees Suarez get put through on goal. The diminutive winger looks set to have a shot on goal, but he instead elects to turn onto his left foot, which allows Hofmann to get a tackle in. The loose ball falls to Trigueros, but his tame effort is held by Strebinger.

Description
73'
Manu Trigueros enters the game and replaces J. dos Santos.
A second change from Marcelino, as he replaces Dos Santos with Manuel Trigueros. Can the midfielder be the player to spark Villarreal back into life?
72'
CLOSE! So unlucky from Samu, who takes a wonderful first touch with his chest to set him up for a low shot across the face of goal, but like Soldado earlier, the strike is fired wide.
70'
Dos Santos eases his way through Vienna's midfield, but the earlier momentum that Villarreal had seems to have dissipated somewhat. Soldado daudles on the ball in the centre circle and is robbed by Prosenik, who burst into an acre of space ahead of him, but Gaspar reacts to get in a timely interception.
67'
M. Sonnleitner gets yellow.
Sonnleitner goes into the book now for a fould on Bruno. Villlarreal cannot make the set-piece count, however, and the visitors burst forward through Stangl, who wins a corner at the other end.
66'
Villarreal have looked much more dangerous since the introduction of Samu, who has reverted to playing just behind Soldado in a classic 'No.10' position. The switch in system has allowed Castillejo and Suarez more freedom to roam in-field, and the two wide-man have now swapped wings to cause an even bigger headache for Vienna's defence.
64'
Vienna are once again unable to clear their lines from another Villarreal corner, only for Bruno to concede a free-kick for a foul on Schobesberger, who, like the rest of the visitors forward line, has been pretty much anonymous in this second half.
61'
R. Strebinger enters the game and replaces J. Novota.
A switch for Vienna now, as Novota hobbles off clutching an ice-pack to his right shoulder. The injury means that there will be a first European appearance of the season for back-up keeper Strebinger, who is forced into an immediate save to tip away Castillejo's probing cross-cum-shot. A good start from the youngster!
58'
POST!!! HOW DID HE MISS!? Dos Santos curls in a lofted corner which falls to Samu. The substitutes shot is deflected and forces Novota into an instinctive save, but the Vienna 'keeper can only parry it straight back into the path of Soldado, but the forward can only strike the rebound against the upright from two-yards out.
57'
Kainz does superbly to knick possession deep in Villarreal territory, but the hosts regroup swiftly and force Vienna into an error. Gaspar launces a long pass forward to Samu, who takes it down briiliantly before feeding Castillejo, who wins a corner off Petsos...
55'
It has certainly been a high-intensity start to the second half by the hosts, who would move top of Group E on goal difference with a win tonight. Castillejo is becoming more and more involved with play as well since the restart, drifting further in-field in order to further influence proceedings.
52'
Samu enters the game and replaces C. Bakambu.
A change for Villarreal now, as Marcelino introduces Samu in place of Bakumba, who has played well tonight, but without much reward.
50'
Another chance for Soldado, who flashes a shot just wide of goal as Villarreal continue to build on this new-found momentum. Castillejo attempts to link up with Bakumba, but he concedes possession before play is halted following a foul by dos Santos on Petsos.
47'
M. Hofmann gets yellow.
A foul from Hofmann sees the Vienna man go into the referee's book. Bruno takes the free-kick short and it is worked in-behind to Soldado. He flashes a strike across the face of goal that beats Novota, but also sails wide of the woodwork and away for a goal-kick. Better from Villarreal in the early stages of this half, though.
46'
The visitors get us under way in the second half, and Petsos lofts it forward immediately. Villarreal recover possession, however, and launch an attack of their own through dos Santos... but the Mexican cannot find Soldado with a searching throughball.
45' +2
CHANCE! Bakumba should have scored! The striker ghosts in unmarked to latch onto Soldado's cross, but he cannot turn his first-time effort on target.
45' +1
The fourth official has indicated there will be two minutes added time at the end of the first half. Can either side take a lead into the interval at El Madrigal?
44'
Kainz delivers but Villarreal clear it and Bambuka races into space. He feeds Suarez, who is halted by the retreating Hofmann. Bruno regains it and works it out wide to Castillejo, but the winger is unable to produce a quality cross into the box.
43'
Another well-structured move from the away side results in Petsos lofting in a cross, but it is miss-directed and Barbosa is able to gather it in. Kainz wins it back for Vienna and charges forward, winning a corner off Gaspar...
41'
More fantastic play from Suarez, who takes on three Vienna defenders before slipping a delicate throughball into Bambuka, but the pass is just slightly over-powered and it rolls onto Novota. Unlucky!
39'
Well, as bad as Barbosa's goalkeeping was a few moments ago, Novota has just topped it! He dithers in possession in his penalty area before taking an unexplicably heavy touch that Bakumba almost pounces on. Vienna's 'keeper reacts just in time to dive onto the ball and claim it back, though.
37'
After a bright start, it has become a rather tepid affair as the half has worn on. Ruiz tries an ambitious long pass into the path of Soldado, but the former Tottenham and Valencia striker is well marshalled by Hofmann, who has impressed since coming on as a substitute for the injured Dibon.
34'
CLOSE! Hugely unconvincing goalkeeping from Barbosa, as the 21-year-old spills Kainz' strike from distance and the ball rolls just inches wide of the upright. Vienna's set-piece again comes to nothing, but the Villarreal shot-stopper could easily have gifted the visitors a goal then!
33'
Unusually sloppy play from Villarreal, who are often so composed in possession. Vienna are really starting to stamp their authority on proceedings now - it is easy to see how they have retained their 100 per-cent record in the Europa League so far this term.
31'
Hofmann slides a lovely pass in behind towards Prosenik, but the forward's strike is blocked by Gaspar. Vienna regain possession and work it out right to Pavelic, whose cross is deflected wide for a corner, but the visitors are unable to make anything of the resulting set-piece.
28'
Vienna have grown into the game over the last ten minutes or so, and seem confident with their abilty to play through Villarreal on the counter attack. Schobesberger looks the main threat for the visitors, with Petsos and Hofmann often choosing to pick out the skillful winger at any given opportunity.
25'
Vienna win another free-kick down near the right-hand corner flag. Their skipper, Hofmann, is again the taker, and his delivery is looped into a dangerous area, but Prosenik is unable to trouble Barbosa with a tame header.
22'
Jaume Costa gets yellow.
Free-kick to the visitors right on the egde of Villarreal's penalty area now, as Schobesberger takes a tumble under pressure from Costa, who receives a booking for his troubles. Petsos stands over it, along with Hofmann... It's the latter who steps up to take it, and duly forces Barbosa into an instinctive save with a dipping effort.
19'
SO CLOSE FOR VILLARREAL! What a run from Suarez, as the Barcelona academy graduate slaloms his way through Vienna's defence before squaring in an inviting cross across the face of goal. Novota is stranded at his near-post, but neither Soldado or Castillejo can turn the pass goalwards, and Hofmann is on hand to hoof it clear.
17'
More precise, incisive and patient build-up play from the hosts leads to Suarez drifting in from the right, but his pass is over-hit and Novota is able to gather it in and launch a Vienna counter. Schobesberger whips in a cross from the right, but Prosenik is unable to latch onto the delivery.
14'
Half-chance for Bakambu, who finds himself free in possession on the edge of the Vienna area, but his first touch is clumsy and it trickles out for a goal kick.
12'
Marcelino's side have made a fantastic start to 2015/16, and sit pretty in fourth place in La Liga heading into the second third of the season. Vienna, meanwhile, sit third in the Austrian Bundesliga - four points behind leaders Austria Wien.
9'
It has been a highly promising start from the hosts, who, despite only needing a point tonight to secure their place in the next round, will be hopeful of claiming their fourth-straight win in this competition this term. Vienna are a highly experienced outfit, however, though that early injury to Dibon is a blow.
7'
UNLCUKY! Villarreal penetrate Vienna's defence with some superb inter-play down the centre of the pitch. Bakambu looks set to drill home from close range, but Novota is out swiftly to smother his shot and clear the danger.
6'
M. Hofmann enters the game and replaces C. Dibon.
A pause in proceedings now, as Dibon receives treatment after a collision with Soldado. The referee beckons for a stretcher, and it appears that the Vienna man's night may well be over inside of the first five minutes. It looks like the centre back may have twisted his ankle in that challenge.
3'
Good link up play between dos Santos, Soldado and the promising young winger Castillejo sees Villarreal make in-roads down the right. They eventually work it in behind towards Bakambu, and the burly Nigerian tries to use his strength to shirk off his marker, but the referee deems that his challenge was too hefty, and a free-kick is awarded to Vienna.
1'
KICK-OFF! Villarreal get us underway at El Madrigal, and launch an immediate attack, but the move only results in a throw-in to the visitors.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of this Europa League clash between Villarreal and Rapid Vienna - the top two sides in Group E. It's set to be a fascinating encounter at the El Madrigal tonight, and we'll be bringing you all the action as it happens right here!
The teams are in at El Madrigal. Let's see who will be lining up for each team tonight, starting with the hosts.
Vienna, already qualified for the knock-out stages, sit atop Group E on 12 points thanks to four victories from four games. Villarreal sit three points behind them in second place, and a point tonight would see Marcelino's side join their opponents in the next phase of the competition.
Villarreal have lost just four games in all competitions so far this season - the first of which was a 2-1 defeat to Vienna back in September, despite having gone ahead courtesy of Leo Baptistao. Steffen Hoffman scored the winner from the penalty spot for the hosts that night, and the veteran midfielder again lines up in a free role behind Philipp Prosenik in this evening's encounter.
The pre-match niceities are out of the way now, and the hosts, donning their usual vibrant yellow strip, prepare to get the game up and running...
HALF-TIME! That's it for the first half at El Madrigal. It has been an entertaining and competitive affair so far. Neither side has had the quality to carve any real opportunities, though Bakumba really should have done better with his chance a moment ago.
Vienna coach Zoran Barisic will most likely be the happier of the two managers at the interval. His side have defended comfortably following a few early warning signs from Villarreal, and have looked dangerous going forward as well.
The players are back out on the pitch now, with no sign of any changes for either side.
FULL-TIME! That's it from El Madrigal, where it has finished 1-0 to Villarreal thanks to Bruno's goal 12 minutes from time.
Based on their second half display, that victory is no less than the hosts deserve, and sees Marcelino's side rise to top spot in Group E heading into matchday six, and ensures their place in the knock-out stages.
Vienna did have their chances, but were unable to convert them when they came, and can have no real complaints about the result. One positive has to be the performance of their young goalkeeper Strebinger, who impressed after replacing the injured Novota.
That's all from us for tonight. It has been an absolute pleasure to bring you all the action, with Villarreal having triumphed 1-0 over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League.
