Trippier has a decent little run down the flank, but he's challenged by Hummels, who again gets away without conceding a foul. Time is fast running out here as Tottenham fail to mount a last stand.
90'
Mkhitaryan is on the end of a great Dortmund counter-attack, and seems to have the beating of Trippier down the flank. He twists this way and that, before trying to slide the ball for Ramos to convert, but Spurs get it clear.
88'
KANE SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER! The ball broke kindly over the top for him, and he seemed to be set for a one-on-one with Weidenfeller. However, he held up his run bizarrely, and that allowed the keeper to get there first!
86'
Hummels has luck on his side once again after he slid in late on Onomah, upending the youngster just outside the area. However, the referee awards neither a foul nor a yellow card.
84'
Kane tries to break after a poor Dortmund corner, but he's absolutely clattered by Hummels, who had at least a 15-yard running start to slide into the striker. A clear foul, and he's a tad lucky that a booking did not follow.
82'
A. Ramos enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
S. Kagawa enters the game and replaces P. Aubameyang.
Aubameyang goes off to a standing ovation from the fans after an accomplished game at the head of the Dortmund attack. On cones Kagawa, who has never beaten Spurs in his career. Bets suspended on that changing here.
Reus follows his fellow goalscorer Aubameyang off the field. On comes Ramos for the final stretch.
80'
This could get even worse for Spurs as Dortmund look like scoring every time they up the tempo in the Tottenham half. They're winning all the 50-50 balls, and the crowd is loving this.
78'
Spurs get a glimpse at a way back into the game as Lamela whips in a dangerous free-kick, but none of his team-mates are in any hurry to attack, it, and Weidenfeller can claim it.
76'
H. Kane enters the game and replaces Son Heung-Min.
Finally Pochettino has reached for Kane, who enters with about 14 minutes left. An away goal for Tottenham will be crucial for them to have any hope of progressing, because I don't see Dortmund losing 4-0 at White Hart Lane. Son departs.
74'
Perhaps this is a commentary on the shoddy state of the Premier League in 2015-16. It's been regarded in some quarters as one of the poorest seasons in terms of quality, but one of the best in terms of entertainment. Second place in Germany are manhandling second place in England tonight.
Minute
Description
72'
I don't think that Tottenham have been this comprehensively outplayed at any other point throughout this season. Pochettino hasn't done a lot wrong this campaign, but his team selection must come under the microscope as his side face a mountain to stay in Europe.
70'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by G. Castro.
Castro's deliveries have been nothing short of magnificent tonight, and he comes up with another peach.
IT'S 3-0! Dortmund spring to life as Aubameyang skips past two players before spraying a wonderful pass wide for Castro. He spots Reus making a run towards the back post and hoists in a lovely cross, which the forward can't help but slam home!
69'
It seems that Dortmund are content to play with more patience now. They're still attacking, but not looking for the instant forward pass, instead making Spurs chase the ball, sapping what's left of their strength.
67'
É. Lamela gets yellow.
You couldn't make this up. Minutes after coming on the field, the substitute Lamela is booked for a challenge on the excellent Weigl. The Argentine lives up to his feisty reputation.
65'
É. Lamela enters the game and replaces C. Eriksen.
Off goes Eriksen after a disappointing game, where he was forced to play mostly off the ball, defending against the waves of Dortmund attacks. On comes Lamela, who may have been a better choice to play from the start.
63'
This score is a fairer reflection of matters on the pitch, Dortmund have been completely dominant, and the next goal will signal the direction of this tie. If BVB score again, then it will be hard to see a way back for Spurs, but an away goal for them and they're right back in it!
61'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by N. Subotić.
THERE'S THE SECOND GOAL! From a short corner, Castro whips in a cross that Subotic flicks to the back post. Reus is onside, and doesn't hesistate to smash in a wonderful volley into the roof of the net!
He's been on the pitch only minutes, but he's already made an impact with a commanding flicked header.
60'
Does that Tottenham substitution mean that Pochettino is happy to go into the second leg only one goal down? On the surface, it's an attacking player off for a midfielder, but given how invisible Chadli has been, Dembele's drive could actually help their offensive capabilities.
58'
M. Dembélé enters the game and replaces N. Chadli.
N. Subotić enters the game and replaces S. Bender.
Bender's shift at centre-back is at an end, with Subotic entering the fray in his place. Given how versatle the former is, it's nearly a like-for-like swap.
Probably the only tme that I've mentioned Chadli since the first whistle is now, when I'm about to announce his withdrawal. In comes Dembele for a much-needed boost to Spurs' midfield ranks.
56'
At some point, you have to start asking questions of Dortmund at their inability to convert more of these chances. A 1-0 lead to take into the second leg at White Hart Lane is not a bad thing by any stretch, but given what has transpierd, it could be so much more. Still time for that to change, though.
54'
Dortmund try a rehearsed set-piece routine, as three players run over the ball before Piszczek finally clips in the delivery, but Aubameyang can't get on the end of it as Wimmer heads clear.
52'
Was that a penalty? Son appears to have Bender struggling deep inside the area, but a challenge from the stand-in centre-back leaves the Korean in a heap. Replays show that he made minimal contact, if any, on the ball though!
50'
OFF THE POST! Tottenham are let off the hook once again. Mkhitaryan slides a perfect pass behind the defence for Aubameyang to attack. The striker's shot seems to be sneaking wide of the far post, but Castro picks up the pieces, only to smack his follow-up onto the base of the woodwork!
48'
No changes as yet from either side, but you get the feeling that it will be Pochettino who looks to make a substitution first if this game stays the way it is. Slow beginning to the second half.
46'
Off we go again!
45' +2
It looks like Tripper will be alright to continue, although I'm sure that a more thorough examination will take place at the impending half-time break. The two minutes of injury time are almost up.
45'
The match is stopped for a moment as Trippier is down on the deck in need of treatment. He's rubbing his elbow after an awkward landing, and the physios escort him to the touchline on the far side to continue taking a look at him.
43'
Onomah attempts to get forward down the left-hand side, but all he succeeds in doing is committing a foul on a defender. It's not the first time that Tottenham have done that when they look to push numbers into attack.
41'
DECENT LOOKS! From a free-kick, Reus tries to fool Lloris, but misses the target by about a foot or two. Moments later, a deflected effort from Castro flies narrowly wide of the goal.
39'
If Tottenham go on to lose this first leg handily, then Pochettino will face some questions over his team selection. The only match between tonight and next week's second leg is a trip to Premier League bottom side Aston Villa. Surely some more big names could have been risked?
37'
So far, Dortmund have racked up nine shots to Tottenham's two, and have enjoyed the majority of possession, seeing 56 per cent of the ball. It sums up what I've seen on the pitch.
35'
T. Carroll gets yellow.
WILD CHALLENGE! Carroll is lucky to still be on the pitch after he attacked a ball with a high boot, missing it completely but catching Schmelzer dangerously. A yellow card is as far as his punishment goes, though.
34'
How long until Pochettino reaches into his deck and calls for the services of Kane, Lamela or Dembele. Spurs lack of presence in midfield and attack has been woefully evident in the opening half.
32'
Well just when it looked like the visitors got the measure of the Dortmund attack, they let in a goal that was frustrating in its ease. Davies simply did not get off the ground quick enough as Aubameyang sprung into the air to attack the cross.
30'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Schmelzer.
Lovely cross from Schmelzer, who has put in a few beauties from out wide tonight.
DORTMUND HAVE THE LEAD! It's a simple goal for Spurs to concede, as Schmelzer hangs a cross into the centre of the penalty area, where the striker rises above Davies to nod it home.
29'
Dortmund's crowd have settled down a little as their side are forced to bide their time. Spurs are playing with a renewed focus in defence, but are still unable to get out of their own half.
27'
Tottenham win a rare corner, but Carroll's delivery is plucked out of the sky by Weidenfeller. Moments later, Weigl smacks one on goal, but it's right down the throat of Lloris, who holds on.
25'
Spurs appear to have weathered the initial storm here, as Dortmund aren't finding as many direct routes through to goal as they were before. The hosts are still dominating the ball though, something which Pochettino will have to look at.
23'
It remains to be seen what Tottenham's plan of attack is. They haven't been able to hold the ball in the final third for more than a few passes, with one or two attempted forays down the right flank ending quickly.
21'
More danger for Tottenham to contend with here as Mkhitaryan gets the ball on the edge of the area, spreading it for the overlapping Durm with a menacing diagonal. However, Alderweireld boots the ensuing cross clear.
19'
After initially appearing to play with the same back four as they did against Bayern, Dortmund now have three at the back, with Hummels as the only recognised centre-back, flanked by Bender and Piszczek. Schmelzer and Durm are lining up as VERY advanced wing-backs in the opening exchanges.
17'
Tottenham need to sort themselves out because as things stand, it would be no surprise to see Dortmund open the scoring sooner rather than later. Mason and Carroll are passengers at this point, with the back four afforded no sort of protection.
15'
GOAL RULED OUT! Mkhitaryan unleashes a tremendous strike from long distance that is saved by Lloris, but the follow up falls to Aubameyang, who slides it home! However, the officials make a good decision to chalk off that one, as the Gabonese was a half a step offside when the rebound came into play.
13'
IMPORTANT CHALLENGE! Durm, playing in an advanced role down the right-hand side, scampers into the area once again past a static back line. However, Alderweireld is across to cover, and makes the crucial tackle just as the BVB man was about to cut inside to face Lloris!
11'
Dortmund continue to pour forward, and seem to have the beating of Spurs down the flanks. Schmelzer uses the space afforded to him to swing in a cross to Aubameyang, who attacks it on the volley between Carroll and Davies, but it spins onto the roof of the net!
9'
Tottenham could surely use the energy of the suspended Alli against one of the best pressing sides in Europe. On Dortmund's double-chance salvo moments ago, they easily bypassed the midfield to get the ball into the box.
7'
DORTMUND MUSS TWICE! Durm sets up their first chance of the game, as his cross to Reus is tucked into the path of Castro, who hammers one narrowly over the top. Moments later, Aubameyang angles a pass through to the 23-year-old, who has only Lloris to beat, but pokes his finish wide of the post!
5'
Spurs have started well here, and there's nearly a mix-up between Hummels and Weidenfeller as they attempt to close out a long ball under pressure from Onomah. The visitors are winning the pressing battle so far.
3'
Spurs fire an early warning shot in Weidenfeller's direction after the ball sat up kindly for Eriksen outside the box. The Denmark international lashed one on goal, but it was well held by the keeper.

Off we go!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Europa League round of 16 clash between Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham. Second in Germany hosts second in England in one of the ties of the knockout stages so far. Both teams will put title ambitions to the side, however, and try to make a mark in the first leg. Stick with us for all the action.
Dortmund overcame Porto in the previous round to reach the last-16, and are in a rich vein of form, unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions. However, die Schwarzgelben missed a huge opportunity over the weekend to narrow the gap to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, playing out a goalless draw against Pep Guardiola's men at this stadium. That left their deficit to the top of the table at five points.
Tottenham dispatched Fiorentina in the round of 32, but have not been at their best recently, with only two wins picked up in their last six games. They trail Leicester City by five points in the Premier League and like their opponents tonight, missed a trick in a title-race clash with one of their rivals over the weekend. A 2-2 draw with Arsenal, where the Gunners came back from a goal and a man down, has been regarded as two points lost.
Tonight marks the first ever meeting between these sides in European competition. Dortmund have dropped just one of their last eight at home to English opposition - with that defeat incidentally coming against Spurs' nemesis Arsenal in the Champions League. Tottenham themselves have only ever won twice in Germany, beating Leverkusen in 2006 and Koln in 1974 - back when this tournament was still the Europa League.
Tottenham subs: Vorm, Walker, Bentaleb, Kane, Lamela, Dembele, Carter-Vickers.
Thomas Tuchel makes two changes to his side from the Bayern draw over the weekend. In comes Roman Weidenfeller to take the place of Roman Burki between the posts, while Gonzalo Castro will get a start in place of reported Manchester City target Ilkay Gundogan, who misses out with a foot injury.
Mauricio Pochettino has chosen to begin with Harry Kane, their only available out-and-out striker, on the bench, with Nacer Chadli leading the line instead. Eric Dier and Dele Alli miss out on the matchday squad entirely, while Erik Lamela and Moussa Dembele are only among the substitutes. Josh Onomah and Ryan Mason are among those handed starts.
And that will do it for now from Signal-Iduna Park, with Dortmund holding a fully deserved one-goal lead that doesn't tell the true story of their dominance. Aubameyang was the man who made the difference with his 33rd goal in 38 games in 2015-16. Spurs have barely been able to get out of their own half, and there'll be no doubt who the happier manager is at the interval. Stay tuned for the restart in just a bit.
And that will do it from Signal-Iduna Park. Dortmund have hammered Tottenham here, winning 3-0 and putting them in pole position to reach the quarter-finals. A double from Reus after Aubameyang's opener put the EPL visitors to the sword, and Pochettino's men can have no complaints. Delight for BVB, but pain for Spurs. The second leg is in a week at White Hart Lane. That's all the time we have, thanks for tuning in!
