G. Achilier gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
ACHILIER OFF! No surprises there, as the referee waits for the play to end before showing him his second yellow card. It was a two-footed flail right into Guerrero.
RUIDIAZ NEARLY WINS IT! The referee plays advantage as Guerrero is clattered into by Achilier, and Peru work a counterattack that sees the substitute teed up from the edge of the box, but hammers it just the wrong side of the post!
90' +1
Walter Ayovi swings in a peach of a ball that is just about headed away. That came moments before Jaime Ayovi's cross was also hacked away at the near post. Is there time for another chance?
89'
Ecuador are already shaping up like dark horses for the tournament, with another impressive display here. However, it looks like they will end all of that positive play with only two points from as many matches.
88'
J. Cazares enters the game and replaces J. Montero.
The excellent Montero is withdrawn for Cazares.
87'
Gallese gets the benefit of the doubt as he clatters into Enner Valencia in a battle for a wayward back header. This little stoppage in play probably works in Peru's favour given how things have gone.
85'
Gallese catches a dangerous cross. Only five minutes left here and despite the obvious fatigue from a few players, there's still a lot of energy and end-to-end play from both teams.
83'
Dominguez comes to the edge of his box and is nearly undone by an ambitious over head kick. Down at the other end, Walter Ayovi smashes a tester from distance right into a defender.
81'
Achilier does well to clear the ball away from Cueva, who almost scampered to the byline. From the resulting corner, the same player plants it onto the head of Guerrero, but it's deflected out.
79'
Y. Yotún enters the game and replaces É. Flores.
Peru look absolutely gassed here as the superior fitness of Ecuador has really come to the fore in the closing stages. It's in complete contrast to how they started this game on the front foot.
Yotun is on and off goes Flores.
77'
JUST WIDE! Montero puts his laces through the ball, but is about a foot off the mark. Ecuador have regained momentum here, and look the far more likely side to steal a winning goal here!
Minute
Description
75'
JUST OVER THE HEAD OF THE ATTACK! Montero cleverly back-heels the ball into the path of Walter Ayovi, who delivers a stinging cross that was begging for a touch that arrived - but from the defence!
73'
R. Ruidíaz enters the game and replaces Ó. Vílchez.
Ruidaz is on and Vilchez will make way.
72'
SAVED BY GALLESE! Noboa has really been hard to track when driving through the middle. He eschews a long-range shot this time and slips in Ayovi with a slide-rule pass, but the substitute hammers it right into the fists of the keeper!
70'
Jefferson Montero swings a corner to the back post where Mina was creeping in, but it's shepherded clear in the end. A bit of a disjointed period in the match as the teams start to tire.
68'
Peru had a real chance for a counterattack there, as Cueva charges forward with the ball at full speed. He tries to thread one through for Guerrero, but Dominguez is outside of his box to clear.
66'
Polo races to the byline and hoists a dangerous cross into the six-yard area, that Antonio Valencia does well to clear with bodies lining up to convert! The resulting corner drops dangerously wide.
64'
Noboa has not been afraid to have a nibble from distance, and he takes another pop, but it's well over the bar. A little bit of the sting has gone out of the game as we enter the last half-hour or so.
62'
F. Martínez enters the game and replaces M. Bolaños.
This is a huge blow for Ecuador. Bolanos went down and immediately signalled to the bench that he was unable to continue. He's been replaced by Fidel Martinez, and Quinteros will hope that he's not out for long.
60'
Gallese was a long way off his line and Enner Valencia needed no second invitation, trying to lub him from inside his own half, but the ball sails well over the crossbar. Howls from a few of the fans.
58'
SAVED BY GALLESE! Montero cuts in from the left-hand side and unleashes a low drive that appears to be creeping into the bottom corner, but it's pushed around the post by the Peru keeper.
56'
Guerrero is back in the thick of things, pushing off on a defender which allows Flores the chance to convert, but the goal is correctly ruled out. Tense times this, with the match really up for grabs.
54'
Guerrero is down clutching his back in some pain, but the referee isn't interested in allowing the medical staff to look at him just yet. He eventually gets up on his own accord and looks to be alright.
52'
Ó. Vílchez gets yellow.
Vilchez takes out Ayovi down the left and gets carded.
Important header from Tapia to take the ball away from Ayovi. Ecuador are absolutely purring right now, and will want to push this momentum into a go-ahead goal. How unthinkable was this about half-hour ago!
50'
A. Polo enters the game and replaces A. Hohberg.
The highly rated Andy Polo is on for Hohberg.
48'
M. Bolaños has scored a goal for Ecuador! Assist by J. Montero.
Montero did so well to time his run and set up Bolanos.
WONDERFUL GOAL AND ECUADOR HAVE DONE IT! Bolanos was ahead of the queue inside the six-yard area to convert Montero's feed, after a sweeping move from Quinteros' men!
46'
J. Ayoví enters the game and replaces J. Paredes.
Jaime Ayovi is on for Paredes.
And we're back.
45' +2
SAVE BY GALLESE! Noboa drops his shoulder and hammers one in from 25 yards. It may have just been sneaking wide, but the Peru keeper couldn't be sure, and he parries around the post.
45'
Not long left now, and it's Ecuador who are on the attack again. Bolanos backs into his man and holds the ball up excellently, but he's fouled by Ramos, who gets a lecture from the referee.
43'
Montero cuts in from the left-hand side and tries to do what Antonio Valencia did minutes ago - clip one over the top for Enner Valencia to chase. However, it's cut out by the Peru defence.
41'
The pendulum has suddenly swung Ecuador's way as they begin to get their direct game into gear. The crowd are getting a little nervy here, but the Ecuador fans in attendance are growing in stature.
39'
E. Valencia has scored a goal for Ecuador! Assist by A. Valencia.
Peach of a ball from the Manchester United man.
EXCELLENT GOAL AND ECUADOR ARE BACK! Valencia squared. Antonio clips it over the top of the defence, and Enner takes it on his chest before hammering it home.
36'
Peru are just starting to rush things a little as Guerrero loses possession in a good position. Ricardo Gareca must still be delighted with what he has seen from his players in this match.
34'
Not a whole lot happening at the moment as Peru just look to settle things down with a comfortable lead. You get the feeling that one more goal will be lights out for Ecuador.
32'
Valencia has gone off temporarily in order to allow the game to proceed. Ecuador are struggling to move the ball here, and it's really allowing Peru to put players in position to counter.
30'
An ungainly clash between two players leaves both down in a heap. It was No. 13 on No.13, as Enner Valencia goes in with a sliding challenge that missed, but he gets an inadvertent but solid kick from Tapia for his troubles.
28'
You tend to see this a lot from Ecuador when things aren't going their way. They pump a long ball down the flanks, and Enner Valencia attempts to sprint his way out from under a rock and a hard place. No dice.
26'
Yet again, Peru make inroads via a free-kick that is pumped to Guerrero, who chests it into the path of Hohberg, but it was asking a little too much from the wide man to get a first-time shot in there.
24'
OH WHAT A CHANCE FOR NUMBER THREE! Another set-piece where Ecuador completely forget their defensive assignments, giving Flores the cleanest of headers from point-blank range, but he can't keep it down!
22'
G. Achilier gets yellow.
Achilier booked for clumping into Cueva.
21'
Antonio Valencia almost gets on the end of a long ball down the line, but he can't shake the attentions of the defence, and loses the ball - which goes out for a goal-kick to boot.
19'
Dominguez this time makes no mistake, showing good command of his area to grab a free-kick. You sort of have to feel for him. If I was in his gloves, I would have absolutely no confidence in the defence in front of me.
17'
Great noise around this stadium, although it's mostly coming from one set of supporters. For a team that's known across the continent for their energy and industry, they've been strangely pedestrian, have Ecuador.
15'
How do Ecuador come back from this one? They have simply been played right off the park here in Phoenix, and both goals were avoidable, coming in clear cases onf the attacker getting the better of the defender.
13'
É. Flores has scored a goal for Peru! Assist by P. Guerrero.
Guerrero with his second assist of the night!
FLORES MAKES IT 2-0! Ecuador are in shambles here as he chests the ball down, getting rid of Paredes in the process, and squeezing a low shot that sneaks into the bottom corner!
12'
C. Gruezo gets yellow.
Gruezo clatters into his man and is booked.
11'
First attack of note for Ecuador as they pile numbers into the area, but it's easily cleared. Peru try to counter, but Guerrero can't get isolated in time to receive the out-ball from the full-back.
9'
Ecuador are starting to steady the ship somewhat, stringing a few passes together, but they're still well short of the standard that Peru have set in the opening minutes here. Good tempo to this one.
7'
No less than Peru have deserved, that one. They have absolutely hammered Ecuador in the opening exchanges, and will want to ride this momentum to add further notches on the scoreboard.
5'
C. Cueva has scored a goal for Peru! Assist by P. Guerrero.
Guerrero is looking really menacing here in the opening exchanges, and uses his renowned balance to shrug off the attentions of Mina once again, bulldozing his way across the byline, but eventually losing control of the ball.
Guerrero once again was the point man going forward, setting that one in motion with a lovely pass.
THE OPENING GOAL HAS ARRIVED FOR PERU! Cueva takes the ball with a delightful spin to beat his man inside the area, and slams it home before anyone else can react!
3'
Early chance! Ecuador's defence parts like the Red Sea, allowing Guerrero to latch onto a throughball ahead of Mina. He lashes one towards goal, but Dominguez gets down low to save it!

In the time-honoured tradition of Copa football, we're late getting started. Here we go!
Hello and welcome to our live commentary of the Copa America clash between Ecuador and Peru. Both sides made a solid enough start to their campaign, and tonight sees the lead in the group up for grabs. Stick with us for all the action.
Ecuador gave a great account of themselves against Brazil in their Copa opener, drawing 1-1 with the heavyweights. In fact, it would be fair to say that Gustavo Quinteros' men were held, given that Miller Bolanos saw a potential game-winner questionably ruled out.
Peru did the business just about against Haiti in their Group B curtain raiser, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Paolo Guerrero around the hour mark. Another victory here will guarantee them a spot in the next round.
Historically, Ecuador have dominated this fixture, with Peru only managing two wins from their last 13 encounters. However, one of those victories came in their last meeting three years ago in a World Cup qualifier, where Claudio Pizarro decided the match with the only goal.
Between both teams, there's only one change from their group openers, and it comes in Ecuador's goal. Alexander Dominguez grabs the gloves from Esteban Dreer.
And that will do it for now from Phoenix, with a gripping game in progress. Peru seemed set to win at a canter after racing into a 2-0 lead inside the first quarter of an hour, but Ecuador withstood the barrage, and hit back minutes before the break. It's all set up nicely for the second half, so stay tuned.
And the referee ends one of the games of the tournament so far, with Ecuador coming back from two goals down early in the second half, but couldn't take it all the way to three points. it leaves Group B finely poised, with Brazil and Peru level on four points, with Ecuador two further behind. That's it from us, thanks for tuning in!
