Russia are enjoying all the possession here in the dying minutes, yet aren't showing any urgency to push forward. They're passing it around rather harmlessly near the halfway line as this match fizzles to an end.
90'
There will be three minutes added on at the end of this match.
88'
Time winding down here as Russia appear to have accepted the result. They managed to make things interesting but the defeat is ultimately deserved. France weren't necessarily that much better, but their quality up top has proved to be the difference.
86'
T. Lemar enters the game and replaces K. Mbappé.
Thomas Lemar replaces Mbappe, who is showered with applause from the traveling support.
83'
D. Cheryshev enters the game and replaces F. Kudryashov.
K. Mbappé has scored a goal for France! Assist by B. Matuidi.
Denis Cheryshev comes on for Russia at the expense of Kudryashov. It's an attacking change from the hosts.
Matuidi provides the assist.
A WIN FOR FRANCE NOW SURELY! A second for Mbappe, who outdoes himself this time with a terrific bit of skill in the area to open up space for a shot, which he guides through the legs of Lunev!
82'
Anton Miranchuk gets yellow.
Anton Miranchuk becomes the second Russian player booked in the match.
81'
B. Matuidi enters the game and replaces A. Rabiot.
Blaise Matuidi is also brought on, replacing Rabiot.
80'
P. Kimpembe enters the game and replaces S. Umtiti.
PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe is brought on for the final 10 minutes as he makes his debut for the national team, replacing Umtiti.
78'
Russia are starting to exploit the flanks here as Smolnikov and Anton Miranchuk win successive corners. The hosts are looking brighter here as they commit more bodies forward, but they're lacking numbers in defence if France can take advantage...

76'
A. Shvets enters the game and replaces A. Erokhin.
Substitution Aleksandr Erokhin Anton Shvets
75'
It's Griezmann who takes, not Pogba, and bends an inviting cross into the box that Russia have to scramble behind for a corner. A bit of pressure building here from France for the first time in a while...
74'
Play comes to a halt here as Hernandez stays down following a foul that's won his side a free-kick in a threatening area. This one may be a bit far out for Pogba, however.
72'
O. Giroud enters the game and replaces O. Dembélé.
Dembele's night is done as he's replaced by Olivier Giroud.
70'
Maybe, just maybe, we're in for a grandstand finish now! France saw a 2-0 lead slip away on Friday against Colombia as well, a match they went on to lose 3-2. Didier Deschamps' heart will be beating a little faster now following that Smolov effort.
68'
F. Smolov has scored a goal for Russia! Assist by I. Smolnikov.
A truly stunning delivery from Smolnikov, who provides the assist.
RUSSIA RIGHT BACK IN IT! What an absolutely sensational assist that was! Smolnikov threads a diagonal ball through three France defenders all the way into the path of Smolov at the far post, and the striker does well to keep his composure and finish it off!
67'
A. Zabolotny gets yellow.
An immediate impact for Zabolotny, but not the one he would have hoped for as he sees yellow for a foul on Koscielny - a bit too eager to get on the ball there, was the substitute.
66'
A. Zabolotny enters the game and replaces Aleksey Miranchuk.
C. Tolisso enters the game and replaces N. Kanté.
More changes now as both teams turn to the substitute's bench. France brings on Bayern midfielder Corentin Tolisso at the expense of Kante.
Zenit striker Anton Zabolotny comes on for Russia, replacing Aleksey Miranchuk.
62'
Mbappe is left all alone at the far post as he shouts for a pass and gets one from Griezmann, but he gets the end product all wrong, lashing an effort high and wide of the far post.
60'
Into the final 30 minutes and it's about time for Russia to start showing some urgency. They failed to find the back of the net against Brazil on Friday and another goalless night in front of their supporters would have to be considered a big disappointment.
58'
A. Griezmann enters the game and replaces A. Martial.
INCHES WIDE! That really has to be in the back of the net! A Russia corner comes to Smolov at the far post and he lashes a strike at goal which Lloris manages to save, but the keeper sends the rebound straight to Granat. The centre-half has the goal at his mercy but fires wide from seven yards!
France's first change could spell more problems for Russia as Antoine Griezmann comes on to replace Martial.
54'
Anton Miranchuk enters the game and replaces A. Dzagoev.
A third change for Russia brings on Anton Miranchuk, with Dzagoev giving way.
52'
K. Mbappé gets yellow.
Mbappe gets beyond Neustadter on the edge of the penalty area, with the defender sticking out a leg which sends the striker tumbling to ground looking for a penalty. The referee awards a free-kick, but it's in Russia's favour as Mbappe is also booked for simulation.
51'
It's a long way back for Russia now. The 2018 World Cup hosts are slumping towards another defeat here, and there has to be some worry in their camp over how they might fair come June. Right now it's looking like they're headed for an early exit.
49'
P. Pogba has scored a goal for France!
WHAT A HIT! A stroke of brilliance from Paul Pogba has just doubled France's lead! The midfielder lines up a free-kick from over 25 yards and bends a stunning effort in at the near post!
46'
K. Rausch enters the game and replaces Y. Zhirkov.
I. Smolnikov enters the game and replaces A. Samedov.
France get the second half underway!
Two changes at the break for Russia. The first sees Igor Smolnikov replace Samedov.
Konstantin Rausch replaces Yuri Zhirkov with the other.
45'
HALF-TIME: RUSSIA 0-1 FRANCE.
44'
Another chance for Mbappe, who gets on the end of Martial's pull-back in the centre, but can't get enough on his redirected effort to beat Lunev. The game is finally starting to open up since Mbappe's opener.
42'
OFFSIDE! Big chance for Russia to equalise from a free-kick straight away as Dzagoev does well to flick-on a header, but no one held up in the centre as the offside flag was quite obviously raised straight away.
40'
K. Mbappé has scored a goal for France! Assist by P. Pogba.
The assist is credited to Pogba, who rolled through a perfectly weighted ball there for Mbappe to get on the end of.
FRANCE HAVE THE BREAKTHROUGH! Kylian Mbappe doesn't miss this time! The striker gets on the end of a delicious throughball from Pogba, stops his run, cuts inside of Neustadter and beats Lunev at his near post!
37'
What seems to be plaguing Russia, judging off this first half and Friday's match against Brazil, seems to be the lack of a true playmaker in midfield. There's a real short supply of creativity as they're having to work awfully hard to break down these defences - granted the competition has been very tough.
35'
Russia enjoy a decent spell in possession here to halt France's momentum. The hosts haven't threatened since the Smolov chance 20 minutes ago, and these home supporters are starting to grow a bit restless.
33'
PENALTY?! Referee says no! Martial is slipped through and after a heavy touch he goes down rather hopefully following the slightest bit of contact from Kudryashov, but the referee was having none of that.
31'
France are starting to look better here, finding their stride a bit in attack. They win a free-kick on the left flank and it's whipped in dangerously by Pogba, but Lunev is able to dive out and parry. Koscielny came inches away from getting his head to it which would have certainly resulted in the opening goal.
27'
HOW HAS HE MISSED THAT?! Martial gets on the end of a ball over the top and unloads a first-time strike. It takes a deflection and falls generously into the path of an unmarked Mbappe in the centre, but he shoots straight at Lunev from 10 yards!
25'
Russia remain very well organised and combative off the ball, but they're struggling to keep possession as well when they win it back. Both sides have been pedestrian at best in the attacking half as the match sputters on here.
23'
Pavard and Hernandez both have the opportunity to make a statement tonight as to why they should be considered to make the 23-man team that travels to Russia this summer, but neither have done that up to this point. France have lacked with and the two full-backs are largely to blame.
21'
That about sums up France thus far. Some lethargic passes in attack prevent them from making noise on the counter, as the move fizzles out with Pavard launching a strike miles over the bar from closer to 30 yards.
19'
These home supporters will have to be happy with how the first 20 minutes have played out. Russia are looking much better than they did at any point against Brazil, with the new faces already making their mark in the side. France have been second best up to this point.
15'
BIG SAVE! It's the first chance of the night and it falls to the hosts! A wonderfully worked move sees Dzagoev tee up Smolov for a shot from 10 yards, but his first-time effort is excellently parried by Lloris, who dives down to his left in a flash to keep it out!
13'
Full credit to Russia who are battling much better off the ball than they did against Brazil. They're pressing higher up and are closing their gaps much quicker, which is making things quite difficult on France.
11'
There's been very little on offer when France are in possession. There's not enough movement off the ball, no intensity and a real lack of urgency to get forward. Their front three have not been involved yet.
9'
It's been far from a very entertaining start here in Saint Petersburg. There's been no chances to speak of yet, the lone excitement coming from a pair of balls played over the top from Russia that forced Lloris to come well out of the penalty area to clear - both done with relative ease.
5'
France have settled in now and are starting to take over a bit, spending plenty of time on the ball. They have been far from threatening, however, with the bulk of their possession coming near the halfway line, or inside their own end.
3'
Russia have started brightly here, and France carelessly. The hosts have enjoyed some decent possession, and get into a prominent attacking position thanks to a giveaway at the back from the visitors, though they are unable to pick out a good final ball as the chance amounts to nothing.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! France are in white as they get the match underway, attacking left to right, with Russia in red.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this friendly as Russia host France at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium!
Russia’s preparation for the World Cup got off to an abysmal start on Friday as they were hammered 3-0 by Brazil – a humbling sign that there’s lots of work to be done for the hosts to avoid an early exit in June.
Up next for Stanislav Cherchesov’s men is a date with another World Cup favourite in France, and they desperately need to put in a better showing to inspire a bit of confidence ahead of their final preparations against Austria and Turkey in May and June.
France had a hiccup of their own on Friday as Colombia came into Paris and left with a 3-2 victory, battling back from 2-0 down after just 26 minutes – certainly a cause for concern for Didier Deschamps.
There are just three friendlies left for Les Bleus in advance of the World Cup (Republic of Ireland and Italy the others), but this might be the most important as it affords them the opportunity to test out a ground that they will hope to be playing at again in the semi-final on July 10.
Stanislav Cherchesov makes five changes from Friday's loss to Brazil. Andrey Lunov starts ahead of Igor Akinfeev in goal, while the experienced Roman Neustadter and Yuri Zhirkov come into defence. Aleksandr Erokhin and Alan Dzagoev get the start in midfield, both figuring to play prominent roles for the club during the World Cup.
Didier Deschamps makes seven changes from Friday's defeat to Colombia. Full-backs Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez earn their third and second caps, respectively, while Laurent Koscielny also comes into defence. Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba join N'Golo Kante in midfield, while Ousmane Dembele and Anthony Martial come in to flank striker Kylian Mbappe.
It took 40 largely forgettable minutes, but the game got the goal is desperately needed through Kylian Mbappe, who sends France leading into the break in Saint Petersburg. Russia have posed little threat outside of a chance for Fedor Smolov, but the same can be said about both sides. It should open up after the interval.
A Kylian Mbappe double helps France to a convincing and deserved victory in Saint Petersburg as they end the international break on a high. For Russia it's back to the drawing board as the 2018 World Cup hosts appear to have plenty of work to do to avoid disaster this summer. That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
