We're under way at the Parc des Princes.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Ligue 1 contest between Paris Saint-Germain and Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint-Germain made the most significant move of the summer by adding Lionel Messi to their established ranks during the week. Mauricio Pochettino's men pulled off the coup after Messi and Barcelona could not come to terms due to the Spanish outfit's financial issues. However, the Argentine will not play tonight along with Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma. PSG will be keen to build on their win over Troyes last week even without Messi in their ranks.
Strasbourg began their Ligue 1 campaign last week in poor fashion after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Angers.Julien Stephan have their work cut out for them this evening to get off the mark in the season amid the talent of their opponents. It will take a flawless performance tonight from the visitors to avoid a second loss in a row.
STRASBOURG SUBS: Majeed Waris, Adrien Thomasson, Eiji Kawashima, Mahame Siby, Anthony Caci, Habib Diallo, Mehdi Chahiri, Marvin Senaya, Habib Diarra.
Mauricio Pochettino will have minor complaints as Strasbourg have had a couple of decent efforts through Kevin Gameiro and Ludovic Ajorque. It will not matter today, but the Argentine will be keen to drum into his side about their standards in all areas of the pitch.
STRASBOURG (4-4-2): Matz Sels; Karol Fila, Ibrahima Sissoko, Alexander Djiku, Lucas Perrin; Sanjin Prcic, Jean Eudes Aholou, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Dimitri Lienard; Kevin Gameiro, Ludovic Ajorque.
PSG are in action against Brest next week on the road where Messi could make his debut. Strasbourg are at home in their next outing against Troyes next Saturday.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
